  1. Oh, haven't updated my system in this all important topic? OS: Win Server 2016 / Ubuntu 17.10 Mobo: AsRock Taichi x399 CPU: Ryzen TR 1950X GPU: Still my old Sapphire Fury RAM: 64 GB DDR4 3200 HD: 1TB Samsung 960 Evo NVME + some older SSDs (Samsung 830, 840)
  2. Waiting for Threadripper and its motherboards to decide whether to invest in an Intel X299 or an AMD X399 platform. As things stand today, AMD could offer the more convincing platform regarding I/O and surprisingly even heat output
  3. The FE rather reminds me of the GTX 480 regarding performance / watt and release date compared to the competitor at the time. Let's see what the RX brings, otherwise Vega 20 / Navi... For once, it's feels like AMD's CPU business saving their GPU business' ass instead of it being the other way around as it has been the past few years
  4. Very nice, thank you! So at least we know that something is planned
  5. Now that the game is available on Steam, does anyone know of any plans to release it on GoG as well? Would be interested in using this more customer friendly platform (aka. I'm interested in owning the game I bought). Thanks
  6. Been listening to the Life Is Strange soundtrack again, and one intense track still stands out amongst all the easy guitar music (and electronic, but why-oh-why do they have to start their singing in that party track from the game's ending :/ )
  7. Ignorance and an idiot song - expression of that strange American phenomenon of "Pro Life" getting desperate, or of the ability to actually be ironic? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTfyUqVqX-0
  8. And fortunately so http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FdsedY0foGc
  9. They read the postings here and thought, "well then, if they prefer it that way, better to let them re-download the whole game instead of patching"
  10. Don't care much for the restrictive lyrics, but the track played in my headphones has me tripping in no time even fifteen years after first hearing it. YT does not sufficiently good quality :/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jex6uYhlBns
  11. I totally want to support GOG for their ideology, and do not see how patches or EA play into Steam's hand? Patches on GOG just work like in the good old days or via Galaxy, so I do not see the problem there. And is Darkest Dungeon an EA game now? Sorry, it's almost 6am here, so maybe that's why I don't see the connection
  12. Liked what I saw the IGN video and won't be playing the beta in order not to spoil the enjoyment I intend to draw from the final version - I know I'd try out all the options and savour all the text Yeah, the looks of the protagonist are a bit of a letdown to me as well - it is a fixed character as it was in Planescape: Torment, so why not make him/her appear at least a bit unique?
  13. Damn Darkest Dungeon :/ If I knew it'd come to GOG I wouldn't have steamed the early access. As it stands though: At the stage I played it, it required you to go through a lot of people that you can afford to loose in order to boost some good ones. Can get very frustrating and repetitive to grind for money to remove quirks / buy equipment / better abilities.
  14. Somehow I'm not even sure there will be a full lineup of new desktop GPUs in the new node this year. It has taken so long for this process node change for GPUs to arrive that there's just no more optimism left.
  15. teknoman2: If you intend to keep your old HDDs to use as additional storage or whatever, make sure they are disconnected from the mainboard before installing Windows on the SSD. Otherwise, they will continue to be used for the boot partition and temporary storage, which will slow down your machine compared to the SSD, and it will also make it impossible to remove the HDDs later even if Windows itself is installed on the SSD.
  16. Delicious yes, if a tad spicy, or even quite hot... Regarding the partner: I'd guess it's either the fig investors (not backers) or Microsoft, rather than EA.
  17. Time to remedy that then http://www.gog.com/game/psychonauts Oh, and to prevent getting stuck in a certain circus due to navigation problems, consider playing it with a gamepad even on PC.
  18. Well, isn't there a topic about that yet? Maybe it's my own or the forum's forum searching skills that let me down here, but anyway: Psychonauts 2 is on the way :D I am so looking forward to seeing this come to life! Even if it's on a Doublefine schedule for 2018, meaning it will appear around christmas 2020, hehe, but I don't care because one day, I'll play it and enjoy its quirky goodness. Oh, crowdfunding here: https://www.fig.co/campaigns/psychonauts-2 Meaning: Feargus is into it as well.
  19. Interesting. Considering that to me, death metal was known to be something more akin to this: or of the melodic variety It's one of his best imo, mesmerizing
  20. I declare this not-funny - JJ Trek is already here, destroying the heart of the franchise, so who cares what Disney buys anymore... *sniff* Otoh, human consumption behaviour is so idiotic it's funny to me (maybe because it's less close to my heart than Star Trek ) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1stTPHebdIs&feature=youtu.be
  21. This problem call is screenshot not loading, you can fix that by re-uploading it to a reliable image hoster, or by attaching it directly to your post.
  22. I agree with this, although the accuracy is not the unique selling point for me: my old Logitech Illuminated used some sort of clicky technique like notebooks to achieve comparable accuracy and feedback. However, after a key came lose, I didn't managed to ever fasten it again, no matter what tricks I tried. Unlike my current one with proper mechnical switches - just peel the keys off and plug them back on, simple as that, easy to maintain, clean and replace.
  23. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y2j8QkOePMU Yeah. To be fair though, every kind of human expression is derivative, "standing on the shoulder of giants" I think is an English expression for that.
  24. Nah, not normally, here. Maybe I just feel best in the wrong scene though closest is some trip hop every now and then. [edit]oh, and of course some ...step with allusions to the older electronic genres
