Upgrading RAM
If you have a laptop, you can't just add the usual ram sticks. Consult your manual, what kind of Ram your laptop can handle, and how many free slots there are. Depending on your hardware, dual channel access (making the laptop noticably faster) could be enabled only when adding an identical additional module.

Best Graphics Cards at Present and in the Future
Hm, not quite, I put it a bit strange there. The two cards of the GF9800GX2 are not connected via PCI-E, but with some other connection between the two PCBs. This is not necessarily slower than if they were on the same PCB where they could communicate via some internal connection. This connected "bundle" of cards then is put into one PCI-E slot. The ATI version doesnt take up so much space vertically and probably uses less power (but this remains to see) because it's only one PCB, and the heat dissipation should be better. These are the points where I think ATI did a better job than nVidia. This dual-chip card also uses one PCI-E slot. Hope this claryfies it until the cards come out and we see what it all really means

For those interested in next-generation AI in games...
Wasn't this used before? This approach, like statistical learning for some other kinds of programs, seems pretty straightforward and a logical thing to implement for AIs. I hope I'll get some academic insight into this topic soon at the University...

Movies you have seen lately
Hm, the latest Harry Potter film didn't really seem so good to me, too much stuff in too little time, while still much was left out that would've been nice or interesting, important even... I wanted to watch the rest of In The Woods, but they've taken it off youtube. Sucks, because there was no other way I could find to get to a copy of that So I've seen The Cooler on TV instead. Nobody plays a likeable loser like William H. Macy.

Daaave, sorry to have confused you. I just felt the urge to write some intelligent sounding stuff, kind of a version of the tourette syndrome. I want to live in bat country too, if there's batcave. Ah, lame :/ First I worked for some hours, and was really unhappy the way Photoshop 5.5 handles (or rather, doesn't handle) text. Up to now I wrote some more pages for my term paper. I must say it makes the paper a bit difficult if people don't use humor or irony but something else that is difficult to classify... Finally, just now, I refreshed my memory of latin.
-
Anybody out there speak latin?
(salutant ) It's a correct sentence, too. "We moribund salute you" instead of "The moribund salute you" Did you mean "ad capitem"? Also, I'd choose the intense "iaculari" (to throw) instead of "mittere" (to send), or even the funny phrase of "caput petere lapide" (to try to catch/to aim for/[enter ten other translations here]... the head with a stone, change "lapide" to "saxo" to change stone to rock). group necrophilia, yay!

You really dislike them, eh? We were always playing this at school, but I've never heard the term "floorball". We called it hockey. So today I learned about floorball, how to calculate 32 bit floating point according to ISO standard xyz, a lot of basic stuff about morphosyntactically annotating phrases, difficutlies in language synthesis, 'generics' and 'boxing' in java, hoechook (I can't find this name in the internet, it's a backwards kick to the face, with an abrupt but quite small turn) in taekwondo, repeated the basics about structural / functional hazards, kv diagrams, bought an ipod for my gf (no wait, that was yesterday), and a lot of other stuff my brain doesn't currently have the capacity to actively remember...

Best Graphics Cards at Present and in the Future
It's an acronym for "printed circuit board" and is the green/red/blue/brown thing on which the chips, condensators etc are soldered (?). That the GF9800GX2 comes on 2 PCBs basically means that this one "card" is actually two cards connected but using only one PCI-E interface, using power and producing head equivalent to a SLI setup. ATI's version is solved slightly better imo because it consists only of one PCB containing both GPUs.

Antivirus
Fionavar ausatIdnu Had to re-install windows when my copy of norton had run out of free updates, because even if I uninstalled it, I couldn't install another virus scanner and get it to work properly, not to mention the troubles with the firewall (it was norton internet security)... I hope that doesn't happen to you, Deadly_Nightshade! I'm using AVG free, too, which never caused problems for me, but for NWN2 it did apparently We have McAffee at work and it sucks. Everytime I start the PC, it updates using up all bandwidth for downloading an update for about three minutes, then scans the pc wich then is reacting very slowly when accessing the local harddrive.

What are you playing now?
pink floyd? that reminds me of that cool adventure game with floyd, the alien... what was that called again? ah, pity I was thinking about at last playing dreamfall, but this discourages me. Now playing: Disciples 2. I need a leader on Lvl. 10 to import into the addon and haven't kept my saves from the first two playthroughs x years ago, so I had to restart the original yet again. Still fun though.

Best Fundie Quotes of All Time
It's wrong to make fun of christians (or any other group, relgious, nation based or whatever), because they're supposedly weird - some are, the ones who said the quoted stuff are seriously stupid. It's ok to be christian. It's ok to be atheist. It's ok to find funny things funny. And some of the quotes definitely are funny in their utter blindness. Why "otherwise"? It is wether these are fakes or not.

Mask o' the Betrayer!
It's quite fair even. One can still finish the game, just a certain option isn't given. Complaining about this is like complaining that you can't get a certain NPC if you don't do something to a possible party member, or complaining that you couldn't with safiya or if you treated their bad, so... *shrug*

astr0creep: Ah yes, I think I might have heard of that money stuff... Yes, definitely familiar... I've just seen Rapture, a short movie about some extatic church-goers. Don't know what to make of it, though it seems pretty demonic yet alluring, kind of church propaganda?
