What you did today ...
Learning. I rebuilt my gf's PC (mainboard died) yesterday, so today I'll be extra busy learning for my examns in computer science and computational linguistics... Oh, and I defragmented all partitions of my PC this morning. It's actually noticably faster now when accessing the HD

Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition is on the way...
They're certainly not going to make traps more lethal. They made everything less lethal, so why should it be the opposite with traps? They think people want their characters to be invincible, so they work towards that: Give the people what they want to see. (However: The people != DnD players)

Movies you have seen lately
Did they tame the bear fight? I will pay 10 bucks to see the polar bear fight as it exists in the book. Didn't read the book, but in the movie, it's not a very long battle, but physically, well... mutilating. Not for teh kidz (probably american kids will like it though )

Movies you have seen lately
what complete **** I've seen "They" lately, was ok until the end, which made the whole film disappointingly weak. "The Others" on the other hand was great. I never thought I'd be able to enjoy a movie with Kidman in a leading role, but really, this film is very worth watching It wasn't scary, but just good. I've also seen a film adaption of a Wallander detective story (by Mankell), stories I quite like reading because of the mood and the characters, but as is usually the case with adaptions of books one's read before, it didn't quite catch either of the points I like about the stories.

Bad Idea or Good Idea?
Agh, why are you two fighting over these issues? You're both for solutions in the matter of the topic, are you not? Why not looking for those instead of insisting on differences? It's not that you're of a directly opposed opinion on the topic at hand, from what I've read in this thread, so please...

Compatibility check
Yes Wouldn't be a bad idea to google for reviews to make sure you'll be happy with what you buy, but all the components seem ok at first glance.

Compatibility check
Nah, if you're not overclocking, the $175 is wasted on the E6300. A 6000+ costs $145 at newegg and easily beats the intel one. Yes, c2d have the better architecture and are overclockable, but it doesn't make sense to invest more in a slower processor, however advanced it may be technologically It's a common mistake in the c2d-hype: concluding from an efficient architecture that any processor with "core2duo" on it is better than any processor with AMD branding. There are many C2Ds that are faster than many other A64X2, but the named one is just a waste of money imo, especially since you're on a budget (@OP) and are looking for the best price/performance ratio, which is quite poor for the e6300.

Pakistan's Bhutto Killed in Attack
This for example (and really only one of many!): What's the meaning of "under Bhutto"? It is implied that she helped forming "the Taliban" (as if "the Taliban" were a couple of people coming from Pakistan that later emiigrated to Afghanistan), but it could just as well be "during her time as prime minister" and not being related with her personally all. It also implies to the reader a connection between her and Bin Laden, something that makes her the devil in every sincere american citizen's eyes. It then implies that she probably was not even murdered at all. Coupled with highly subjective and suggestive statements, in these two senteces "it is a bit of an irony that she may have been...", it clearly marks the article to be read with great caution. This does not mean I'm a fan of Bhutto's politics - in fact, I'm not very informed about her. This article however doesn't inform very much, it mostly raises doubts and evokes negative feelings. [Edited for better English...]

Compatibility check
Well, work it would, but at the low end of performance. The processor is a weak point. If you insist on AMD, you could a) wait some months until they're competitive again, or b) buy a better AMD dualcore, like the 5000+ black edition, or a 6000+ (89 W TDP), they're cheap as hell and quite a bit faster / better to overclock than a 4000+. Plus, why only ddr2 667? Is ddr2 800 so much more expenisive? If not: Get that instead. To those recommending a 8800GT 512: It is faster than the chosen 3870, but also proportionally more expensive. Both are hard to get. The 3850 512 MB is easier to find (here at least), slower, but overproportionally cheaper. Intels Core2 processors currently have the lead in performance per clock cycle (aka IPC, instructions per cycle) and performance per watt though.

Pictures of your games
I'm actively trying to avoid (most) sex scenes in the game, because the "real" quests are not as cheap as this nerd-attraction It's not a B-grade RPG for sure. Granted, it is noticable in more than one aspect that the designers haven't made any game on their own before, BUT: the world is quite cool, fantasy beyond standard including witchhunts, racism, moral ambiguity. Main character is cool and you can define him nicely in skills and talk, like you should in a western RPG. Alchemy is cool (hit me, but one of the more interesting aspects taken from MMORPGs, others are quest tracking, money-making quests "kill X of Y"). Graphics have some really nice moments despite what Bokishi may think Mostly unforseeable and satisfying / disturbing consequences of seemingly small decisions (I'm not very far in the game, so this may not be true throughout the whole game, but I hope so). Challenging yet not frustrating difficulty on normal setting. Books are useful. Nice and relatively elaborated "Journal" not only containing quests but also Infos on NPCs, Monsters, World Locations, Gameplay and Alchemy recipies. Consistent art direction. You don't have to save the world from a great evil (though: who knows... I'm not very far in the game yet). Well, these random points have absolutely nothing to do with the topic, but only show why Kaftan Barlast should at least try the game, so: Sorry!

Pakistan's Bhutto Killed in Attack
lol then, Xard! I hope this board is liberal enough to a) spot the deliberate inaccuracies and attributions in the quoted as well as the articles praising Bhutto and b) recognize that dictator musharraf is by no means the lesser "evil"

What you did today ...
This should be possible, I think. It takes a strong will and clearness over the own condition however, awareness of how ones body / mind works. I know a case of a person who is to weak to make it on her own and who doesn't recognize her condition, and it is not nearly funny being around her right now ... Anyway, I mostly spent today playing The Witcher, nine hours or so

Bad Idea or Good Idea?
There clearly are swiss tendencies on this board, which saddens me. I thought some of Sands posts on the previous page quite agreeable, mostly these: and The idea with the military service however would exclude any elderly or young people from taking that route, so I voted for "bad idea" in this poll, even if I'm not amercian, and don't hold any of this so very hyped grudge against immigrants. Hyped by people like the slug, writing something over the oh so horrible expenses because of the evil immigrants, which in the sum over ten years seems to be as big as the military budget for 2008... The USA have about 300 million inhabitants iirc, so oh HELL YOU'RE BEING FLOODED WITH ILLEGALS (according to the slug the case with 0.2%)... sheesh, really, cut that destructive hype and cool down.I'm glad people like Sand are looking for solutions to something percieved as a problem. Changes in the law affecting the whole USA could possibly relax the discourse somewhat, because part of the heat is to blame on the inconsitencies in various states / cities, if I'm informed correctly. If immigrants really have to be divided into legal and illegal ones (which they shouldn't in my old fashioned opinion), it should also be clearly defined what to do with illegal ones, and how they can become legal. Military service is one idea, more ideas are needed
