  1. Haven't played a single Rockstar game yet, myself. And GTA always seemed to be a game series with little appeal to my tastes, since I'm not into the whole underworld/gang/mob boss type scenarios, let alone vehicular gameplay.
  2. Kittah's all "U got ur stoopid pic. Can I eat it now?"
  3. Why was Han Solo in your unit of bikini babes? Your wingman?
  4. I think if you pricked my finger, I would bleed diet Mt. Dew. A cool, mild morning...good for doing some yard trimming with favorite sharp implements.
  5. If TWD=The Walking Dead, it's nothing like it. I'd say WWZ is more akin to 28 Days Later, only on a less intimate, mass world scale. WWZ's weakest point, I'd guess, is that after the first half hour or so it doesn't do much with character. Feels like a lot of moving from scene to scene in order to show chaos.
  6. I've probably posted this before but I'm posting it again.
  7. NWOnline: Stayed up all night (starting from midnight) trying to cram in a few more petal-bought items and as many crafted foods as I could before the Festival period ended at 7am or 10am or whatever. Wanted to use up all the materials I'd already gathered, mostly, and you can never have enough Squash Soup!** - only to discover that the little patch-update they're doing this morning will include ... an extra day of Festival. So I could have been in less of a hurry. **the soup gives you critical hit bonuses that can stack with potion bonuses etc. I must have 800+ of them by now....
  8. I used to be a big S. King reader, but since the early to mid-90's I started to get tired of his increasingly predictable, long-winded novels and haven't read many of his things since then. And I couldn't get into the Dark Tower line. His older stuff I still love and re-read. I can be picky about TV/film adaptations - the only adaptations that I think are great are the films Misery, Shawshank Redemption, and Stand By Me. Everything else varies between "pretty watchable with good parts/aspects" to "torturous". I did like The Stand for the most part, liked Storm of the Century (without having read that book) and found the kids portions of IT decent but the grown-up sections pretty awful. I'd agree with your wife that Langoliers and Tommyknockers were trash. Langoliers the story I loved to death so that was particularly disappointing. Anyway, I haven't read Under the Dome, but the series is so-so. It starts off pretty well actually, but the longer I watched the more eye-rolling and annoying it became. Felt like a pretty by the numbers "King cliches" TV treatment. Could be that part of the problem is turning it into such a long series, instead of just 3-5 episodes. That and the actor playing Dean Norris' character's son.
  9. World War Z - zombies aren't generally my thing but I found the film to be fairly decent. First half better than the 2nd half and the ending was a bit too "tidy" in its solution (as are a lot of "potential end of the world event" films), but plenty watchable.
  10. Leftover white rice. A bit of whole milk. A little sugar and vanilla. Mix together in a bowl, heat in microwave for a minute, eat with a big soup spoon. It's not tapioca pudding and the rice aspect is a little bland, but it still tastes pretty good. Which makes me wonder if a little vanilla in a bowl of Frosted Mini-Wheats would also be tasty.
  11. That's a great shot, Ros. ...unfortunately ever since I saw that double-rainbow YouTube video, that's all that comes to mind now.
  12. Anyone who likes dual wielding cats is ok in my book. Nice to "meet" ya, Kaz. Some good/fun Q&A and like all the drawings/pics. And your angled monitor/drawing pad thingie. I'm so technically savvy, can you tell. *still chuckling over "Puddy Tat."
  13. Forgot ... a speedboat would be more my thing vs. a sports car. I would love a large speed boat. I'd probably have to move to Miami or similar, however. Also: For some reason, I found this really funny, probably because I've known the feeling. You can never tell in those type of situations tho. It's possible she was just thinking about you and wondering how you were. A year can mellow.
  14. That sounds familiar. Time goes faster and faster every year, and every new experience becomes old-hat faster and faster every year. Or worse, even if it's an experience I've never done before, it still feels "the same as anything else". Dance is dance, travel is travel, food is food, etc regardless of whether it's a new dance/location/food or not, that sort of thing. eg, doesn't provoke much of a response. Oh well. Such is life, full of its little phases. At least there's my hubs, and my cat. Maybe I should change kitty's name from Mr. Black to Toothless. It's the eyes.
  15. NW:Online - I'm going to kind of miss the Mid-Summer Festival. More for the casual atmosphere then the event/items. People hanging around, picking flowers, killing EZ trolls together and then "standing around" chatting a bit. Not to mention all the funny pig-mount dance parties. For someone like me who doesn't like dungeons/raids, a place besides "town" with that sort of casualness to it is kinda cool. I make so many AD from Leadership now. It's silly. 10 is my limit tho...starting to take too long to pray/cycle through all their tasks 2-4 times a day, even with the Gateway.
  16. I gave up on Under the Dome after about 4 or 5 episodes I think. I couldn't take anymore of that dufus "evil" idiot son chr. or the teen's story arcs in general. Dean Norris was the only reason to watch, imo.
  17. I'm pretty sure I know what plain old boredom feels like...I've battled that mental attitude constantly since I was six. I really have no clue what "mid life crisis" is supposed to officially be defined as, versus "boredom"...to me the former is kind of a meaningless phrase people parrot because everyone else does. I'm not moping about regrets or remorse for the past ... I just feel old and used up. Closer to the end than the beginning. It's depressing. Stuff like arthritis doesn't help I suppose. Meh, I'll work it out.
  18. Pet sim continues. I now own Bambi. Or perhaps a 2nd cousin of Bambi.
  19. Not often at this point, no. It's been a long time since I had a full-time job/hours and even when I had one, the schedules were very flexible because I never did 9-5 work and have done freelance stuff since I was 24-25 or so (my schedule was what I wanted it to be). I don't think that has anything to do with it tho. I think it's more likely from moving back to live in a place I don't really like that much. It was necessary (moving) and it's working well in some ways, but ... blah. Sometimes one just gets tired of feeling like everything you do is a repeat, after a few decades or more I guess. Maybe I should get a pilot's license and a small plane. A mixed mongrel type of kitty or a particular breed? There's a few breeds where I've always wanted to get one, but I never want to pay the giant breeder fee so...
  20. I didn't even know there was a TV series until recently. It's not on Netflix or my cable On-Demand. I'd really like to try it. I get the Cartoon Network and I think it comes on Thurs. evenings (2nd season I guess?). I'll try to remember to tune in.
  21. I think I'm having a mid-life crisis ... whatever that is. The point where everything you used to like/spend all your time on has become supremely uninteresting/no longer motivates and you can't seem to find anything to replace it. Which = total mental/emotional drag...the "no point" fudge. Taking breaks doesn't help revive interest anymore. I don't mean just gaming either. Pretty much everything. Reading, general media, writing, photography, camping, hiking, driving, films, "nightlife", etc. Except cats. Cats are still not boring.
  22. I still have mixed feelings about the show as a whole. 1st and 2nd season were decent but for me, there isn't a single character that I actually like or remotely want to root for, including Dexter. They're just all unlikable chrs. (except maybe Batista). And yeah, the last 2 seasons have been pretty eye-rolling in some ways. Yet if I start to watch, it does have the "well now I have to see the next episode" feeling. Like rubber-necking a train wreck or something. But it's not/never has been a fave show of mine. Still, every season/episode was on our cable VoD (no extra cost) so we've been marathon watching. After last night, only 1 episode (I think) left in the series, so may as well see it through. The guy playing the Brain Surgeon is kind of a hoot. Great psycho eyeball-stare in an otherwise total geek-look.
  23. Yeah, that's what's it's like with Comcast. At least there's no monthly limit with their Business Class and 98% of the time it's been really consistent/predictable/stable. It's that 2% that makes you want to pull your hair out now and then.
  24. *Breaking Bad episode ends* *silence* ....holy bleepitybleepitybleep. That was intense. I'm going to need time to process that. I might recover by the time Dexter comes on....
