If that picture posted above was a bit bigger I'd use it as my desktop wallpaper. Heck with it, I might anyway. Happy 10th!

Leveled my NWO hunter to 23. I'm liking the class more and more, altho so far I've been doing all ranged, no melee. Mostly it's nice to have a ranged option that isn't spellcasting - I might actually level this one up to 30-40 before I let it sit in town idling, haha. I wish it had been more strongly bow instead of kinda half and half bow and axe melee (designed to switch "stances" frequently), but focusing on just one or the other seems viable enough if you want to do that. Just might become my 2nd favorite class after the cleric - or more specifically, the only other class I like.

Update #69: Pillars of Eternity
LadyCrimson replied to BAdler's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Announcements & News
Keep getting the 500 error when I try the backer site. I'm not in a hurry, so I guess I'll try it in the middle of the night.- 488 replies

Update #69: Pillars of Eternity
LadyCrimson replied to BAdler's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Announcements & News
*logs into forum* Holy cow, there's a lot of people in that list on the bottom. *looks at the Announcement forum* Oh, no wonder! *watches the teaser trailer* Oh, awesome. I got the shivers, partly because I liked the music a lot, and partly because ... well, because it's a trailer of a game I want, and it did its job of making me want the game now, now gosh darnit now. What a great way to start my evening - with a giant grin plastered all over my face. Thanks, Obsidian.- 488 replies

I just wanted to check my mail and apparently my Rust monster is irresistible.

Pics from Ros and Woldan are endlessly entertaining in that thrill-ride kind of way. Slower shutter speed + a higher f-stop to maintain depth of field/exposure = motion blur.

Me: *uses hands to pull out big gobs of weeds* Neighbor: "You're doing that the hard way, y'know." Me: *rips up some letters by hand* Hubby: "Didn't you buy a shredder?" Me: "Yes, so?" Me: *dusting at 6am near wall furnace, notice the metal slats are sooper dusty, get obsessed cleaning them one by one with a rag, burn fingers, keep going* Hubby: *wakes up, watches me* ... "Could take the grates off the wall, take them outside and hose them off, remember?" Me: "Yeah, I know, but it's not as fun."

In terms of more current crops of rpg's, I'd agree with this. Not that I don't like cinematics, but I prefer them to be limited to game start, significant act ends, and game end. Not every time I approach a boss and new town and new enemy and new NPC etc. Not just the long movie-like cinematics, but anything that takes camera control away from me for more than 2 seconds where I'm forced to sit and watch. Exceptions would be if it's something I'm supposed to garner a clue to a puzzle etc. via watching.

Not here, but I know someone who was having similar types of trouble with IE10 on another forum after a forum software update. Like can't use hard returns or something. So he tried IE11 and it got even worse. They've tried updating the forum software again and it helped but small things are still broken. I'd assume some versions of the forum software are having issues with IE upgrades...don't know if/when/how such will be patched. If my friends figure anything out, I'll relate it. (edit: - no italics was one of the little things still not working for my friends )

Borderlands 3. That's my wishlist. Mostly because I can't get hubby to play anything else! But I've become more interested in games I can play LAN with hubs than playing by myself, now. ...I used to have a bit of a backlog, when I first started looking at Steam sales etc. Because that's the point of Steam sales - easy impulse enticement when you don't have to drive/walk to a store. (before Steam I rarely bought more than 4-5 games a year). After a year or so of Steam sales I remembered that I only have so much time/energy and I'd never get around to playing any/all these "games that sound kinda interesting/heard they were fun" so I stopped buying just because they're cheap.

I'm looking forward to Escape Plan when it comes on cable. I wish those two had been in a movie a couple decades ago, but I'll take what I can get. Senior citizen tough guys spouting one liners and trying to pretend they're serious and relevant. Bring it on, baby. Saw that "How Videogames Changed the World" doc. with Charlie Brooker. I liked it and it made me laugh too.

I think I need about 5 more powerful computers in my pc room/office, all turned on 24/7. It might warm up the room enough where I don't need to wear 5 layers of clothes and blankets. Up early, gamed a bit, heading to the showers and then out and about. I love that series.

This is my Rust Monster. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My Cricket is my best friend. It is cute and I must master my giggles when it waddles behind.

Yeah, exactly. Anything over r7's seems to be mostly for the OCD stat crunchers and of course bragging rights. It's not necessary at all. You don't even need r7's, really. But it can be a pain if you have a lot of alts/pets that you want to gear up even with all r6 (and you were using mostly the Leadership chests to get them). I've been trying to stock up on a lot of both enchants and runestones, for months. It's my personal obsession. Or it was. It might not be anymore.

I just had to pipe in that the "Gothic troll" looks like Donkey Kong, or something. I tend to think of trolls as being tallish, upright, not too "broad", and having longish arms with big fists that hold giant clubs and such, with some variation of greenish/earthy tones, but other than that very vague notion I don't really have much of "must have" concept of trolls. They could be short, hunched over and squat instead.

Tried the new Hunter in NW:Online for a couple hours. Not bad, I like it more than the Rogue by far. Bow works well early on. Didn't buy the booster pack, nothing interesting in it. Got her to lvl 10 and now she'll sit and pray I suppose. Haha. Hilarious to see the entire main town hub filled with practically nothing but huge clusters of Hunter's, half of them named Legolas or Drizzt or or whatever. The new enchanting system sucks, as far as I'm concerned. Glad I made a bunch of 6 and r7's beforehand... They redesigned some of the early areas a bit, looks better as well, which is kinda cool. Still...back to the Gateway.

For lunch I'm having a peanut butter sandwich. Not something I usually have or even like, but the other day I had a dream where I wanted super creamy Jiffy and was driving around everywhere looking for it but no one had it. Odd dream, since that type of peanut butter was never a staple in my parents house. When I idly told hub of this dream, he came back from a beer run that night with a jar of Skippy ("they didn't have Jiffy"). So...hm. It's kinda sweet tasting. Sticks to the teeth tho.

That one video I saw of Superman 64 on YouTube is still one of the funniest game reviews I've ever seen.

I think it all looks fine for this stage. A little generic perhaps but fine. I'm more concerned with the gameplay being "fun" than whether the trees are the right color/height or if the trolls are troll-like enough or whatever. Not that I don't understand...first impressions and one likes what one likes etc. Been there sometimes myself. But static screens of even finished/released games are so often nowhere near representative of what one emotionally sees/feels about the mood/atmosphere/look etc. as one plays.

It's been an emotional roller coaster of a month, often leaving me wrung out like a dirty dish sponge, but I'm back now, to occasionally annoy with cute kitties and mindless babble about nothing in particular. The latter of which I do very well when sleep deprived too often, as my husband can attest to. Also, this wimpy Californian is finding the 25F (-4C?) early morning to be really farking cold. I used to run around in shorts and flip flops during chilly winter rainstorms. But in another 20 years I'll probably be wrapping myself up in an afghan in the middle of summer. Hope everyone who celebrated it had a fun Thanksgiving holiday.

Lynda Carter will always be Wonder Woman to me. It's not that I loved the show, really. But she is Wonder Woman in my mind. I saw a 2007 "samurai" anime film called Sword of the Stranger. Despite it's rather predictable nature, I enjoyed it a lot. I even liked the little dog. And the action sequences (and the music) that bookend the film were totally awesome - I could watch those on repeat for quite some time.

Still Borderlands 2 w/hubby (he still plays it more than I do, at this point) and the occasional brief bout of Neverwinter Online. I keep looking at Steam etc. and I keep on seeing nothing that really appeals. Not that I have a lot of time/energy for gaming most days lately, anyway. But it'd be nice if I had something besides the above two things. Something new. Ah well.

Strangely, now that it's available, I haven't felt like getting it. It's just my tiger reskinned anyway. Ready for the new module, if interested in it at all to begin with? Used a lot of diamonds last week, ranking up enchants to lvl6 while I could still fuse, since I don't think I'll ever be getting a lot of the new ingredient thingees that the new system will use to upgrade enchants to higher levels. I might try the new Hunter...although I'll probably get one to lvl30 then let Leadership do the rest. I like the new active companion bonus concept tho, even if it doesn't mean a whole lot. So I spent a lot more diamonds snapping up some of the better-bonus companions from the AH when they were cheaper.

yeah, somewhat disturbing Any better now? *Twilight Zone music*
