  1. I bet you guys my next paycheck that the mods shut this thread down. Or at least move it ot the Way Off Topic forum.
  2. If I were a man walking around in that girly-white Star Forge Robe, I'd wear a mask from shame. Agreed. And I honestly think that they won't kill Revan, but that he/she will only be referenced by other returning NPCs, such as Bastila and/or HK. I think we'll hear of him/her, but we won't see him/her. Logistically it's too tough. For all the reasons mentioned by other folks above. ...I really can't see how a DS Revan would up and leave his infinite fleet when the galaxy was defenseless and ripe for the taking. My point exactly. This is precisely why I think we won't see Revan again. As Ender said there's way too many variables. For a DS Revan you made the point perfectly. Why the hell would he/she leave after he/she avenged him/herself against Malak, reclaimed the title of Dark Lord, and had a massive fleet at his/her disposal, with the Republic and the Jedi Order in ruins. The only possible explanation would be something happened to Bastila. But even that's kind of stretching it because this school of thinking assumes you played the first game as a male Revan and you had a romance with Bastila. I once played the game as a female DS that couldn't care less for Bastila. I chose to marginalize her. Now, though I may be in the minority with this, it was still an option (and a major one at that) offered in the first game. There is way too much emphasis put on the romance angle with Bastila IMO, and also Revan being a male. Though Revan, regardless of gender, had a strong bond with Bastila, he/she had achieved greatness well before he/she ever met Bastila. I just really think that a DS Revan probably fought and perhaps was defeated by one of the Sith Lords that we'll be facing in this game. Thus, creating a new Dark Lord which gives validity to just how powerful the new boss(es) is or are. Now, a LS Revan is more complex. I think he/she would have probably gone off into seclusion but that just doesn't seem like something Revan would do. It's just not in Revan's character to take the Ulic route. I mean, this is Revan we're talking about here. A more plausible explanation would be a LS Revan went off on another quest in search of something that was threatening and destroying the Jedi Order. He/she was the only Jedi that could do it. Bastila would've gone with him/her and the other NPCs went their own ways, with maybe a few of them accompanying Revan on this new quest onboard the Ebon Hawk. The expedition was never heard from again. The Jedi were destroyed and finding out what happened to Revan's expedition and how it failed is a major plot point in SL. This will be relayed to your PC in the opening questions. The same basic concept could be said for a DS Revan as well with some minor changes. Now, this is totally cliche and generic but it seems to be the most plausible explanation. It's a way to give the nod to the original characters and tie in to the original without overshadowing the new characters and the new storyline. This is after all a sequel, and most gamers like continuity. See Morrowind. However, these are former Black Isle folks we're dealing with here. The sky's the limit.

  4. I killed Yathura every single time I played the game. And my bets are on Canderous and Bastila. Although the latter is tough to gauge. Regardless of which ending you chose in the first game, her character was still complex. Bastila has the obvious ties to Revan so her appearance in this game will most likely be dictated by your answers at the game's start. It's hard for me to imagine any kind of a sequel to KOTOR without mentioning or showing the one character that many gamers felt was actually the main character from the first game. As for HK, aside from some laugh-out-loud jokes and puns, he was kind of useless. I rarely bought him on Tatooine. It was much funner to go into the Sand People enclave and just wipe them all out. You don't get DS points for doing it if you're trying to play LS (at least I don't think - I can't remember). He was a terrible combatant. Carth...instant Sith Lord if he pops up. Dustil...now THIS is who I want to see.
  5. I'm all for cameos and I think it'd be cool to have someone like maybe Canderous join your party briefly in KOTOR2. Aside from that, I'm much more eager to learn about the new characters. And as an aside, I know this is off topic but, wasn't there a female Dark Lord in Elfquest? I only ask because someone said Bastila would be a Dark Lady or something to that effect. Anyway...I know it's a dumb question but women can also be Dark Lords too, right?.
  6. I honestly thought that was Telos when I first saw it. I think Dantooine will be in utter ruin. You never know, though.
  7. I like this idea. Almost sounds like something out of Hellraiser, or along those lines.
  8. are you still spamming? wow, get a life. as for the poll, already answered this dozens of times. Exactly. Thank you, Ghosts. That's what I meant when I said that there was already another thread on the very topic with well over 700 posts. I mean, not even the Questions to the Devs threads are that crowded. Someone lock this one, too.
  9. ROTFLMAOAYSS I think it's easier just to type rolling-on-the-floor-laughing-my-a**-off. I have no idea what the rest of that means.
  10. You know, I was just thinking that 717 posts in the first Bastila thread wasn't nearly enough. I'm glad this one was created to augment it.
  11. Okay, so maybe Hoth is a bad idea. But it was cool in Jedi Academy. In fact, in some parts it was genuinely creepy.
  12. I knew this thread would eventually spiral towards the decadent.
  13. Something about this thread topic just sounds so...pornographic. "Romance Poll: More than two"
  14. So, ah...what was the topic again? Oh, yeah...Bastila coming back. No she isn't.
  15. The kewl thing about Guardian was how you could flip towards an enemy from about 200 yards away and kill them instantly. When Juhani was in my party we'd be flippin' all over the place.
  16. Because this thread has gotten so large, I haven't gone back and read all of the other pages because I am lazy. So, I apologize if this has already been mentioned but, I'd really like to see Hoth. I really don't know why that world hasn't been seen in this era yet.
  17. Probably the only really kewl thing about the Obi-Wan video game was all the Force Powers your PC had. They were robust. Force Pull was one of them. You could snatch a weapon out of an attackers hand, and then Force Push him up against a wall or something. It was gnarley.
  18. Both these sites should be useful to you. http://www.forceacademy.com/Dark/Sith_lecture8.htm http://www.i-j-t.com/Sithinfo/isthistory.html Thanks!
  19. I had heard that the orginal concept for Darth Maul was to be a female temptress that slowly lured Anakin down the dark path. Now, THAT'S what I would like to see. I think Gandalf mentioned something like that already. But a dark and powerful temptress would be really cool to see.
  20. Exar Kun is my favorite Sith Lord hands down! Its nice to see so many fans of the comics on these boards. I hope Obsidian introduces some familiar faces from the comics in the Sith Lords. I hear you do get to go to Dxun in the Sith Lords where Freedon Nadd's tomb is but if I am remembering the comics properly his spirit was destroyed by Exar Kun with the use of Naga Sadows amulet. Which makes going to this planet pretty lame because he won't be able to manifest himself to you. Naga Sadow and Marka Ragnos are tied for my second favorite Sith of all time. Vader is in the third spot but that could change after I see Palpatine in action killing some Jedi scum in Episode III. Cheers! I'd really like to know more about the comics. Particularly the Exar Kun war. I know about Ulic's fall and redemption and to me, that's one of the best stories in the entire Star Wars universe. But the specifics of the war kinda lose me. Was this the Sith War that is referenced so much in Star Wars lore.
  21. Well said. And if I could take it a step further, the Sith believe their ways are the ways of the Universe. Not something that they just concocted overnight. They truly believe that they are what the Force is meant to be. And that it is only the Jedi that act unnaturally and needlessly restrain themselves. Yathura does a really good job explaining the Sith philosphy. I'm not saying it makes it right, but you can see the incredibly thin line between what we believe is good and what we believe to be evil. Often this simplictic approach to life is what can cause strife.
