  1. You know, I've read over those articles linked in the initial post, and I honestly don't see anywhere in those articles that say a KOTOR 3 is in the works. If anything, I read that KOTOR 3 has been stalled indefinitely due to layoffs at LA. That one website that said that there would be some sort of a video playing at this year's E3 just sounded utterly uninformed to me. No different than all those underground movie websites that report things like, "TOM CRUISE TO PLAY SUPERMAN IN BATMAN/SUPERMAN TEAM-UP!!!!", when not a single person on the planet, including Tom Cruise himself, has ever heard such a thing. I say, strictly from a business standpoint, there is definitely going to be a KOTOR 3. It's too lucrative of a title not use it as long as it sells so well. But as to when and from whom is anyone's guess.
  2. Much was made in the game about how Revan was able to corrupt so many of his followers during the Mandalorian Wars. Kreia asked you about it on more than one occasion, and at one point onboard the Ebon Hawk, Disciple talks to you about Revan's attack patterns during the Jedi Civil War, and how he thinks the Sith Assassins chasing you have Revan's marking all over it. Towards the end of the game, Kreia then presses you on the subject. "How do you think Revan corrupted so many of his followers during the war?" And then, after your confrontation with the Jedi Masters on Dantooine, Kreia says something about your wound, sucking in all life around it and transmitting echoes of your actions and feelings through the Force, was something Revan knew about. And the Mandalorian Wars and the Jedi Civil War that followed were just fronts for a much larger conflict: the War of Conversion. But my question is this: wasn't the Star Forge responsible for corrupting so many? Seriously. I mean, the way that it was explained in KOTOR 1, Revan discovered something on the Outer Rim after the war but no one among the Council knew what it was. They only knew he/she came back to the Republic as the Dark Lord. Throughout KOTOR 1, they kept eluding to the fact that Revan was able to corrupt so many Jedi and Republic soldiers to his/her side because of the living dark side energy emitting from the Star Forge. Revan was able to harness this power and exploit it to his/her advantage. The Rakatans seem to corroborate this notion. But in KOTOR 2, there is no mention of the Star Forge whatsoever other then Bastila talking about it in her holocron (which was only if you said Revan was DS male). As far as I know, there was no mention of the Star Forge at all if you said Revan was LS. But the themes mentioned in KOTOR 2 speak directly to the same themes spoken of in KOTOR 1. Every time someone said, "I don't know how Revan amassed such a fleet." I kept saying, does no one in KOTOR 2 know of the Star Forge? Am I missing something here?
  3. Also, you don't need spoiler tags in the spoiler forum
  4. I have yet to find a single Jedi Master robe anywhere in the game on 4 playthroughs now, other than the one I've taken off of Vrook's corpse. I haven't even found any Jedi Kight robes. I've only been able to find Jedi Robes and Padawan Robes. Once I found some gray Jedi Robes but I can't remember where I found them.
  5. That's exactly right. Influence has nothing to do with it. Just run in out of the ship all the time. Which is kind of lame but every time you run into the ship, the game thinks you've just completed your mission and that you're cruising through space. In fact, not only will you see Atton and Disciple bicker about you, but you'll get about two or three other cutscenes invovling other characters as well. This can be kind of annoying if you only return to the ship to pick up something or to go get someone that you can't select from your party screen. Although, I will say that on one of my playthroughs, I only got one fight between Atton and Disciple because after you convert Disciple to a Jedi, Kreia is all over him. And most of the scenes involve her and him having these really bizarre exchanges.
  6. It takes three hours just to get that HK assassin droid to speak the voice-printed command to open up the airlock. You do realize that three hours into the game is barely long enough for the Harbinger to dock with the station, right? I'm not saying you're lying. But I honestly don't see how you can get your lightsaber in such a short time. It just seems mathmatically impossible. How can you even make it off Peragus in that amount of time with everything you have to do. I mean, Peragus is a very meticulous level, that's why a lot of people have been complaining about how boring it is. There's no branching sidequests to complete there so everything you have to do on Peragus is required just to leave it. Seriously. If you have discovered a way to free Atton (while explaining to him how you finished the first game), take control of T3 so he can open up the Administration Level, get down to the mining tunnels, back up into the fuel depot, talk with the assassin droid, get the voice-printed code, make your way across the asteroids surface, watch as the Harbinger docks with the station, run into the Dormitories, discover the Administrator's fate, make your way back into the admin level, fight off the assassin droid, run through the Harbinger, get the orbital drift codes, depart with Kreia as she confronts Sion, view all of the holologs on the bridge and in the conference room, visit your own quarters, make your way through the fuel lines, run into T3 again, open up the the hangar bay doors, and make your way to the Ebon Hawk while fighting through multiple droids, and then having to fight off some Sith troopers with the Hawk's turrets before having to kill a few troopers that have made it on to your ship, all in about three hours I would really like to know how. And I left a bunch of stuff out, btw. I being real. It would be a big help to know how this is done because I find Peragus to be a little tedious.
  7. WOW. It looks like I'm totally wrong again. I sincerely thought the Sentinel was by far the WORST class in not only the KOTOR games, but in the history of videogaming.[/bill Walton] No, but seriously. I found Sentinel to be truly awful and a waste of time. I really did. My character had better saving throws, but that was about it. NEARLY ALL OF THE OPPONENTS I would go up against, from the smallest jungle creature to the biggest bosses, were NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE to hit. A typical melee would go just like this, and I am sincerely not making this up: CLOSING TO COMBAT RANGE miss miss miss I lose 13 HP miss miss miss I lose 8 HP miss miss miss I lose 24 HP (my controller vibrates) Injects and advanced medpac I lose 24 HP(my controller vibrates) Injects and advanced medpac I lose 10 HP miss miss miss I lose 15 HP miss miss miss I lose 9 HP I run away and leave my party members to handle the target. Every. Single. Time. And that's just when I fight a cannock with a Mandalorian Power Shield activated. I'm not joking here. It was truly just a horrilbe class to be. I couldn't emphasize this more when I say avoid this class at all possible costs. Be a Guardian or a Consular. You see CLEAR bonuses for those classes. It wasn't until MUCH, MUCH later in the game did I see any kind of advantages from being a Sentinal other than the fact that i got [AWARENESS] in lot of my dialogue options. Also, the Sentinal class sucks.
  8. LS male: Uric Lorn LS female: Lexi Daal DS male: Zurth Donnaka I didn't make up any of those names. They all came from the random name generator. I was just like, yeah that sounds good. Let's get on with it.
  9. Ok, NOW I remember Sherruk. Man, you're absolutely right. That f'er almost made me take the game back the first time I played it. I remember the only way I could beat him was to set mines all over the place and then get him to chase me through the mine field. And even then, that wasn't enough sometimes. I could probably play that game tonight and still die about 5 times before moving on. And there was another Mandalorian boss in the Shadowlands that was no joke, as well.
  10. The Sith Governor was pretty hard the first time I played KOTOR 1. But all the other times after that I never had any trouble. It's all about having T3 in your party. He would just stun him and that would be that. I would have to say the toughest boss so far were the three Sith Masters you encounter in Freedon Nadd's tomb on Dxun. I've confronted them with Visas, a converted Atton, Handmaiden, Mandalore, etc. and it's always difficult for me. They're tough, IMO.
  11. I agree fully. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Think about it: Why did he goto war? Because the Mandalorians had to be stoped! (IE: in defence of others)......Honorable motives Why didnt he follow Revan and Malak to the dark side? Because deep down he knows right from wrong....Again a lightside characteristic Why did he return to the counsel knowing already he would be cast out (and yes he knew what the result of showing up there would be)....To explain his actions so hopefully they could see the GOOD that came from his actions. Everything about the Exile suggests GOODNESS is his normal characteristic. Agree not Luke Skywalker goody goody garbage. Exile has demons and more of a edge to be sure, but in the end he made a concious choice to remain LS before TSL game actualy started. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The only problem with this argument is the fact that you are given an opportunity on numerous occasions throughout the game to explain why you went to the Mandalorian War. And, during the holovid of your trial, you can tell the Council exactly why you returned. If I remember correctly, I believe one of your options is, "Because I wanted to show you how cowardly you have been." Or something to that effect. So basically, if you were playing DS, the game gives you the option of being DS through and through. It even gives you the opportunity to shape what kind of Jedi you were in the past. Even as far as what type of lightsaber you wielded.
  12. All I know is that I thought the battle with Kreia and the purple sabres was pretty pathetic, along with the dialog surrounding it. When it ended, and the Ebon Hawk came up to rescue me from the crumbling building, I thought that was kind-of cool, but I did not have the slightest idea that the game was ending until the Star Wars end credits music started. I mean, how could there not be more? Nothing even happened! No solution/resolution at all. I expected, I dunno, that my character might actually do something important at the end of the game, like find Revan, or reestablish the Jedi Council. Even the little sequence with Bao-Dur's remote and the other droid was left un-ended. Since the place blew up I can only assume that the remote somehow disabled the other, more powerful droid, but I'm left wondering "how?" Pathetic ending, pathetic beta testing... all in all, I regret playing this game. Yes, I thought it was that bad; no where near the quality experience that was KOTOR I, which I played through once on Xbox and twice on PC. I sold it back to EB Gameworld, the day after I finished it the first time, for $30: the only slightly good thing to come out of this shoddy excuse for a sequel. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's how I felt after I played it LS. Maybe not quite as strong, but I had similar feelings. But when I played it DS, I wasn't so dead-set against it anymore. But all in all, it was lacking. Even the trailer for it. Do you remember seeing the trailer for KOTOR 1? It was just like a movie. The trailer for this one really was un-star warslike and kind of sad, really. Anyway, this game probably would have been better had the Exile died at the end. Sacrificed himself for the good of the order, if you were playing LS.
  13. The more and more I look at this game, the more and more I point the finger at LA. I mean, KOTOR 2 had some great elements and some truly enthralling moments. I said in another thread how much I enjoyed the game playing it DS and it's kind of changed my opinion a little bit. I mean, all of the problems are still there (the glitches, unfinished ending, etc.), but you can really see the great potential of this game. You've gotta remember, many of the same people that did KOTOR 2 did some of the best RPGs in PC gaming. KOTOR was my first experience with RPGs and that prompted me to go back and play the other games that Bioware and the former BIS had developed. I was just about equally enticed by BG, Icewind Dale, and NWN. So, I don't think there's a question about OE having chance of doing a possible KOTOR 3. I just think they need however much time they want to deliver a good game. That's one of the reasons why I'm nearly going out of my skull for Jade Empire. Bioware has taken the better part of two years to develop that game so you know it's gonna be stupifyingly great. The real question is, does OE even want to do a KOTOR 3 after this experience with LA.
  14. You make really good points. But in my DS game, I sided with the queen on Onderon, so Kavar survived. I killed Vrook and Zez Kai-El, so only Kavar was waiting for me on Dantooine. It was very realistic. It was just me vs. him. And when I walked into the enclave, there was no long dialogue or anything. It was basically: KAVAR: I know what you've done to the other Masters. DRAW! PC: Pathetic fool, you will die where you stand. Two seconds later, Kavar was dead and Kreia was calling me a failure, and fled before I could kill her. But the exchange I had with her was such a GREAT setup for the game's climax. It just made more sense to me and answered alot of the questions I had when I played it LS. Obviously, other people have different experiences, but for me, it was DS all the way.
  15. I can honestly say I don't know why anyone would play TSL as anything other than a DSer. Seriously. The game is just so much funner and much more immersive. In other threads I complained pretty loudly about all the things I thought were not quite right about this game. But after playing DS, now I'm not so sure. I mean, the game flowed alot better, made ALOT more sense, and actually filled in some of the plotholes that seem to be present when playing LS. Plus, as Tyrell pointed out, your character being dark just fits the tone of this game alot better. In fact, just think about it for a second. Chris Avallone (sorry if I spelled that wrong) said that your character in TSL is a tortured character with a tortured past. And everything that you see and experience in this game has such a dark feel to it. It is, without a doubt, The Empire Strikes Back of the KOTOR series. Even if they never do a third one. I mean, seriously. If you played DS, your character . Hell, YOUR CHARACTER appears on the home screen at the end of the game if you were playing DS. That's a PERFECT ENDING AND A SETUP for a possilbe return for LS Revan in KOTOR 3 to complete Revan's saga. He or she would trace the Exile's presence and realize that Anyway, if you played KOTOR 1 LS and KOTOR 2 DS, they make perfect sense together. And you kind of see TSL for what it truly is: only the middle chapter of a much larger story. Unless you played LS, then it makes no sense whatsoever.
  16. The ending was so horrid that it is forcing me to buy the PC version when it comes out just so I can see if they do anything about it. So good job LucasArts. You've successfully gotten idiots like me to buy the PC version as welll to increase your profit margin. I know you guys laid alot of people off and need the money but, sheesh. What a shrewd tactic. [/angry sarcasm]
  17. there were quite a few instances where you could support vaklu. number one, inciting the rioter. also, convincing those two conversationalists that vaklu was better, plus agreeing with canderous/mandalore about vaklu being the right choice. then youd have that agent of vaklu ask you to remove 3 of the guard captains. do that and again you lean towards vaklu. then right when you meet kavar in the cantina and vaklu's men intercept, agree to side with him. im sure there are other instances, but those come to mind. its actually quite easy to side with him. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Like I said, it was probably a dumb question. But I totally did everything you said to do. I supported the rioter, convinced the conversationalist to side with Vaklu. I gained influence with Mandalore by siding with Vaklu, and I killed the guards. But in the Cantina, (again maybe I just didn't read carefully enough) I didn't see the option to side with Vaklu. Oh, well, guess I'll just have to play it again.
  18. PC: This might sound like a weird request, but do you know any Echani poetry? HANDMAIDEN: (something about not loving anything more than you, except for her melee weapons and armor) PC: That was the weirdest thing I have ever heard. You Echani have some serious problems. I've been laughing at that for two days now.
  19. Haven't read through this whole thread, so I don't know if this has been mentioned already or not, but I'm just wrapping up my third playthrough and I got my lightsaber almost immediately. In fact, I received a short lightsaber before I even contructed my own. Here's how it happened. I played the game as a DS Jedi Guardian. Guardians level up the fastest, and there seems to be more DS responses to NPC's than LS ones. This will trigger the scene onboard The Ravager with Visas very early in the game. I helped Czerka with the Ithorians and as a result, I received one of the lightsaber components. After the whole Telos Polar Region episode, I went to Onderon first. As soon as you land on Dxun and exit the ship, turn around and go right back in. Visas will be waiting for you. Defeat her and get the last two components you need. But the catch is, you have to have that conversation with Bao-Dur about your lightsaber and of course, make sure you have a color crystal which you can buy from a vendor. So, I then just went back out into Dxun and wanted to just play and explore rather than go in and make my lightsaber right away. So, I started doing all of the sidequests and wracking up some serious DS points. Also, I was killing indiscriminately. And the next thing I knew, I killed a cannock and a message came up saying RECEIVED: SHORT LIGHTSABER. And that was that. I was a Sith Lord before I left my first planet. You know, I really think this game was made for playing it DS. PS Never pass up an opportunity to cause as much horror and carnage as possible. Not only is it fun but you wrack up some serious points.
  20. I don't know if there's already a thread for this, so if there is my bad. But I've ran into some influence issues in my games and I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this. It can be with any character, but my main one was Kreia. I was playing the game DS and actually having much more fun playing the game like that than LS, and I was trying to get a really high influence with Kreia because, quite honestly, I usually don't use her unless she's forced upon me by the game. Plus, I wanted to hear what she had to say about Revan (btw, I had no idea you got so much exp. for getting her to tell you about Revan. whoa) But, in certain situations where I would perform the most heinous acts (heh heh heh) she would sometimes lecture me or even openly mock me. Soon, I was losing Influence with her. In fact, it got so bad, I had to swap her out of my party for somebody else more in tune to my character's alignment. What gives? I mean, this is Darth Traya we're talking about here. A freakin' Sith Lord. It seems like she should've been more open to my brutality and malice and helped me to harness that rage for the battles to come. Looking back, I suppose that may have been OE's way of making the DS in this game much more cerebral and not so thugish. Because Kreia is not interested in bullying and really thinks such acts are childish and immature, or worse, draws attention to you. I guess I can appreciate that, but it got so that Kreia was lecturing me more than Handmaiden. In fact, Handmaiden hardly ever lectured me after a while. She just became a mass murderer along with me. And Visas kind of dug it. Also, Mandalore. You can have more influence over him than war itself and he still only goes so far. But it was the apparent inconsistencies that got a little frusterating for me. Am I way off-base with this?
  21. I have a really dumb question about Onderon. I just wrapped up a game where I was playing as a Sith Lord but I still ended up supporting the Queen and sending Master Kavar to Dantooine, even though I wanted to support Vaklu. Did I miss something? I'm sure there was something you have to do or a certain dialogue option you have to choose to trigger the support of Vaklu, but I was watching closely and I missed it. Even after the confrontation in the Queen's throne room and you have the option to either kill Vaklu right there, or differ to the queen's judgement. And then I didn't have the option to kill Kavar while we were talking. Huh?
