  1. ^agrees about the lamers, which Opus131 probably thinks of me as... All i ask is for people to think about what they are going to say. At the end of KOTOR, Revan is about as strong as Yoda, how in the bloody hell are you going to make a game out of that ?!? LOL! Exactly. Can you imagine if a movie where the main character was uber-powerful - we're talkin' Christ-like powerful - at the end of the movie returned in the sequel? What kind of challenges would he face? How could anything be believable after that? Oh, wait. That was the Matrix trilogy wasn't it?
  2. ???? i didin't even know that chick turned to the darkside. i'm out of the loop again, i guess. when did this come out?
  3. is that white-haired chick even going to be in the game? i know that sounds like a stupid question but how do we know that's not just box art or something?
  4. As I understand it, he was the MAIN writer of Torment, though far from the only one. I love your sig... :D
  5. If they follow the PS:T writing style, I think we're in good hands.
  6. Btw, I know this hasn't been asked yet, and I haven't looked at this whole thread because I'm lazy, but I would highly recommend doing the Genoharradan side quests. Regardless of your alignment. Not only do you get some really good gear that would normally cost you alot of credits to buy, but it's an excellent way to wrap up any NPC sidequests that you haven't had the time to complete. SPOILER! (for anyone that hasn't played it) My only warning is that towards the end of the Genoharradan side quest.....take two people with you
  7. I'd like to know what happened to my party members, but it wouldn't have to be in depth or anything. Just tell me in general what happened. Like, Mission left with Zaalbaar back to Kashyyyk. Or, Carth and Dustil were last seen on Telos together trying to work things out. Personally, I'm more interested in Revan and Bastila.
  8. i prefer the gold one because it looks like the orginal KOTOR. i'm into uniformity, plus it's more cinematic making the logos look the same no matter how many KOTOR games there might end up being.
  9. Come to think of it...once you confronted Bastila and turned her (if you were playing LS), that's basically the end of the game. Just get your arses out of their and let the Republic Fleet finish the job. Bastila's Battle Meditation was the only thing keeping the Star Forge from being obliterated. There was no need to confront Malak. I never even thought of that.
  10. Man, there seems to be alot of anti-Isreal sentiment on this board. I personally think that both sides are partly to blame. But it seems like war was brought to Isreal in 1967. And the majority of Arab nations refused to recognize the Jewish state. AFter the war, when the Israelis occupied the lands it won in the war, the world painted the Jews as the aggresors. How does that work. My biggest problem with Israel today is Darth Sharon. While the Israelis have a rite to self-defense, attacking Palestinian camps and apartment complexes will only perpetuate the cycle of violence and won't solve anything. Ehud Barak was actually willing to negotiate with Arafat. But after the intifada started (which some say was started by Sharon's visit to the Temple Mount), the voters ran Barak out of town. This may have been a mortal wound to the so-called Road Map. As for the Palestinians, there is no justification for terrorism. Period. I don't care whose doing it. Israel, the US, Muslims, Christians...I don't care. And the sheer objective for terrorism is to provoke a military response from Israel, which Sharon is all-too-willing to engage in. This will also bring international condemnation, and serve as a recruiting tool for more terrorists. However, the targeted killings of Hamas leaders is something I support wholeheartedly. I DON'T support bulldozing Palestinian homes.
  11. Terrorism is a symptom of a much larger social malady. It can not be combated by amassing half a million troops on a border then toppling a government. In fact, that creates more terrorism, IMO. The current admininstration has a Cold War mentality, which would be great if the enemy was another super power. This enemy is not. This enemy hides within the shadows, and then strikes at men, women and children who are grocery shopping, eating lunch, touring a museum, or just going to work. Therefore, I've always believed the way to combat terrorism was a two-pronged attack. On the strategic front, you give the intelligence community and military special ops the resources and support they need to fight within those same shadows. Have those terrorists not know who to trust. Have our agents be everyone and no one at the same time. I'm not saying that's not going on, but by open armed invasion, you alienate the same nations that could help us the MOST in hunting these masterminds down. That's why, diplomatically, we should make nice with our allies if only to provide a cover for what's really going on beneath the surface. These leaders, who would otherwise be hesitant to cooperate openly with the US, would be more willing to support us in private. As it stands right now, just about every world leader that supported the war in Iraq is fighting for his political life. Including Bush.
  12. I'd like to see KOTOR 3: The Mandalorian Wars. A prequel to the first KOTOR that would center on the fall of Revan and Malak and how they were heroes in that war. You could probably play as any number of characters and if you chose, you wouldn't have to play as Revan if you didn't want to. You could maybe create your own character and choose his or her alignment and you wouldn't even have to be a Jedi. You could play as a Mandalorian. Just about all the characters from the first KOTOR would be in it. Bastila, Canderous, and Carth would have major roles, as well as Saul Karath. And there would be a slew of new NPCs and new worlds to go to. Of course, the storyline itself would depend greatly on how KOTOR 2 unfolded. But I think it would be interesting to see a Star Wars game that focused on the Mandalorian Wars.
  13. I always used to consider myself a moderate until Bush was elected. LOL. Maybe I never was. On social issues I do tend to be right down the middle, though. On issues of National security I tend to be more conservative.
  14. why is it that every time this happens it seems like some conservative group is crying foul? um, how about the outcry over the movie the passion of christ? lots of liberals screaming there... or did you just forget about that? Unfortunately, like a typical conservative, you have selective reasoning, and only see what you want. If you go back and read my original post you'll clearly see I say that what the left was doing with the Passion of the Christ was equally disturbing. I also CLEARLY noted that I don't subscribe to ANY kind of censorship on the left or the right. Maybe if you step back out of your hatred and intolerance for a second you can see clearly, buddy. But I see you're more interested in getting hung up on one or two things I said, and then taking that and running with it. Sad, but not surprising. Your focus determines your reality. Read more history before ever talking to me again. Thanks.
  15. I know for a fact that Iraq had WMD because we gave it to them during their war with Iran. Much the same way we supported Bin Laden when he was fighting against the Soviet invasion. The bottom line is, Iraq was a political maneuver designed to achieve political results. I have a friend that I work with who was born and raised in Beirut and goes back to visit her family in Lebonon regurlarly. She told me that if the US was serious about combating terrorism, they would've gone after Syria, Iran, Libya and yes, Saudi Arabia. Hell, Hamas has offices in downtown Damascus. I tend to agree with this opinion. Ender, you really do make some sound points, and I agree that Bin Laden would've hit us REGARDLESS of who was in the White House on 9/11. These people don't care about Democrats or Republicans, whites or blacks, or even Christians or Muslims (there were manyMuslims that died in the attacks on the World Trade Center). But to say that Bush didn't do anything prior to 9/11 is untrue. He took a myriad of steps that alienated and exacerbated the international community before 9/11. Which was why we got kicked off of the Human Rites Commission. It is known that Bush was going to invade Iraq long before 9/11 happened. When that tragedy befell us, it provided a golden political opportunity for him I am not a Bush supporter and I will not vote for him come November, but to be fair, the notion of regime change started under the Clinton Administration.
  16. btw, the Rakata looked high on midichlorians
  17. what does a midichlorian look like anyway?
  18. I agree with most everything you just said. Except for one small detail. Censorship is censorship whether it is government sponsored or not. This vew of censorship that cons like to get hung up on is samantical and, dare I say, Clintonian. If a liberal or a conservative group successfully prevents a network or a theater from showing something, that's censorship. Plain and simple. When Clear Channel pulled Howard Stern from their networks, no one questioned their rite to do it, but that doesn't mean it isn't censorship. When the Sinclair Media Group refused to air Nightline on it's networks because it found the reading of the US soldiers killed in Iraq objectionable, that was censorship. In the above examples, each organization had a rite to do it, but they still engaged in censorship. And just because they are not goverment organizations has little to do with it. Amplify that about 1000 times when you factor in the reality that both of the above media organizations are extremely powerful and reach millions of households across the country. AND are very generous donars to the Republican Party.
  19. We live in a country where the freedom of speech is a bedrock principle for American values. What has always seperated us from other countries is tolerance for views that we not only disagree with, but maybe even find offensive. This is why I've always believed we need the Michael Moores and the Jerry Falwells of the world. Irregardless of the political spectrum you find yourself on, we need to hear these voices. Or, and this is what makes America great, we DON'T have to hear those voices when we don't want to. Yet it seems that the only time you hear of some organization trying to prevent an airing of something or a release of a movie that might be controversial, it is most certainly a conservative group leading the charge. The latest example is Farenheit 911. Michael Moore's newest pic which deals with the relationships between the Bush family and its ties to Bin Laden. Now, I'm not going to say whether I agree with Moore's views or not. But what I am going to say is that, as an American, I am sick and tired of this culture of censorship, this culture of Neo-McCarthyism that exists today. Move America Forward, the same conservative group that spearheaded the charge to prevent CBS from airing their mini-series "The Reagans", is now leading a similar push to prevent many theater chains nationwide showing Farenheit 911. Even though the docu is already booked in many of those venues, I think it is disgusting and dangerous for any group, on the left or the right, to engage in blatant censorship such as this. I felt the same way about Passion of the Christ. Many groups protested that movie before anyone had even seen it yet. I found that equally disturbing. Though you do have the right to protest and air views, you don't have the rite to tell the rest of us what we can and can not decide for ourselves.
  20. And why 72? why not 3 or 4. or maybe even a dozen. but 72? what is the significance of that number?
  21. Cool, little interview. I like the fact that it's going to be a dark game, with bad things happening to good people. I also like the fact that Chris says though the story itself might seem linear, your interactions with other NPCs won't be. And you have to figure out whose good and bad. And I think I'll play through the whole first time with my hood on.
