DexGames replied to iscalio's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Oh Andrea, you mean all of her Voice-Over Conversation ? it is certainely possible but it's gonna be uncontrolable ! Not mentionning the fact that she's gonna refer to Terratus Facts, & not Eora's. But overall I think it possible.... -

Oh God ! Don't worry about Calisca, you did Verse ! Looks so Perfect ! Very talented... [All my Love is Contained in these Brackets, and they contain More than they look] -
Absolutely, I don't ask for anything more than what you said, Basically, the Plot of Pillars Of Eternity, how/what you ended up dealing with, & why you are where you are now.

I was thinking about that recently, I hope there will be somekind of a Résumé, to remind us what happened in Pillars Of Eternity. Like the Voiced-Over Slides at the End of the Game, having something that tells you the Story you've experienced & where we're at now at the Beginning of Deafire. Even better if the Slides could react to your past choices & their consequences, as they did at the End of the first Game. Where, when you Import your Saved File, your Story continues, but we're exposed to some sort of a reminder about what we've done would be so freaking cool. Remind us of our past adventures, what we've accomplished, [on a Global Scale, maybe some Important details], like : What was the State of the Dyrwood when we first came in. [Hollow-Born Childs] How did we became the Watcher. What happened when we dealt with Raedric VII / Kolsc. [Ally ? Ennemy ? Raedric Returned ?] Maerwald & How we became the Watcher of Caed Nua. [What happened when we dealt with the Master of the Deep, underneath the Castle [Killed her ? Help her ?]. Defiance Bay [Animancy, Houses (Doemenel/Etc)] Twin Elms [Gods Trial] What happened with all the Dragons [Hylea, Etc] Include what we've done in The White March. Etc... Since Deadfire will scan your Saved File/Story for the Story to come, maybe it can Remind you what happenned before, just to get the feeling of continuing our Story. That's all I'm saying... Of course, Cinematics aren't necessary, but Sliders/Etc like what happened in the End of Pillars Of Eternity would be just fine. I say this because I'm sure I've forgotten many things I did back then, and each of us don't necessarily have the time to re-do 100+ Hrs of Gameplay. And I also think about New Players who will come into this game directly. They should be exposed to what happenned, who they are & why they are in the Deadfire's Archipelago, Etc. I'm sure the "Introduction" will do that, but include a Résumé of our Back-Story aswell if you can.

Just a Side Note here, You have to keep in mind there are almost no Items in the Beta, and Josh said in a Q&A Stream : There will be Loots dedicated on Reducing/Accelerating Casting Time, not only Trinkets/Necklace/Etc, but maybe Wizard-like Robes & divers stuff with unique passives addressing that... Maybe the Enchantment System ! We don't know yet. Nonetheless, I remember him saying : "If you wanna make your Character a Fast-Spell-Caster, you can definitely do that". I find them ok, they take time for sure, but that plays ok to me personally. I'm more concerns about difficulty, maybe it's just me but, PoTD is... definitely not Easy but, "Not that Hard" I should say... Maybe because I'm dealing with the same Encounters over & over again, I don't know.

Few Months ago, Obsidian asked us to answer a DLC Survey, [Couldn't find the Results somehow]. But in the end, what resulted from this was that, something like ~80/90% of us, [i think, Correct me if I'm wong guys], responded that : What they wanted from any DLC, was a Big Beafy DLC. A Full Expansion if you prefer, [Like The White March]. So if you have to pay for something, [& if New Portraits there have], they'll probably be in the said Expansion. And if you Backed this Game with the DLC Pack, you won't pay anything. PS : Given the backlash Paradox had back then, I sincerely doubt Obsidian would follow the same path... -

After the Events taking place on the Terratus Continent, Kills In Shadow travelled around the Globe. Looking out for renown Archi-Druids all over the World of Eora. After Centuries of Training, Meditation & Abnegation : She learned how to Master her Beastly Form & how to Materialize herself back to her Natural Humanoïd Self-Shape. Over the Years, she learned how to Shift herself into many Animal Forms & became one of the most Powerfull Shapeshifter, Eora has ever known. But still... When the Situation is Hopeless & Desperate : Her Natural Instincts take over, to eventually become what she's always been... She... Kills In Shadow. BWAHAHAH, My God ! That was FUN to do ! -

If only it was that simple, There are sooo many variables in these games, so many that you can only test them by actually using them. And yet, it'd take an Army of Beta Testers + an Army of Developers to tackle everything down. By the way we, (Beta Testers), are mostly helping to track "Mechanical/Feature" flaws in a reeeally small part of the Game. Tikawara is probably like a 2% Part of the Game. On their end, they have to deal with the 98% left of the entire Game [Mechanics/Features/Content/Etc...]. The amount of work is COLOSSAL & we can only help for a small part of it... There are games out there that are are patched on a weekly basis, it's part of their lives since day one to be constantly patched & updated until the game dies. They'll never reach the "This is how it's supposed to work" state. You just can't hope for a Deadfire 3.0 on Release, that'd be totally unrealistic. Aside from that, I'm sure Devs are working their a** off to make the best product they can, can't blame them. Anyway, they'll have Christmas holidays soon, so it seems obvious we'll have our Christmas patch, just before they take off ! So by the time they come back, we've raise the bar from 20k to 35k Bugs.

I don't think I need that much, I'm not into fast paced Competitve Games at all. As for now, I'm leaning towards : https://goo.gl/Mgbfjo You might think 34" is overkill, but because I'm into Music Production aswell, I really need "that much" space. [Maybe you know if you've ever been in the situation] If I'd go below that, say 29", the Screen would still be larger due to its Ultrawide nature, but almost "smaller" in space/height than my 24". [16:9 Aspect Ratio] So yeah 34" in the Minimum, this one is quite affordable, & is said to be good in "many" Applications. [Gaming, Productivity, Etc] Maybe a Developper passing by can share his opinion, I'm sure many of them, [Especially in this industry], have replaced their old 27" - 16:9 Monitors a long time ago when 21:9 became a reliable thing.

Just to summarize Step by Step : Remap the "Open Console" key in Control Configuration (Do it just once, then you'll be fine). Open Console & Type : iroll20s Open Console & Type : giveplayermoney 99999 Hire Adventurers (Level 1 is fine, in fact you don't even need money) Open Console & Type : addexperiencetolevel 9 (Max Level for the Beta is 9) PS : Console opens in the upper-left corner of the screen & there is no need to use Capital Letters at the beginning of each word. If the "Hire Mercenaries Screen" shows you that "There are no Mercenaries Available", it's because your own character is still Level 1, you need to level up at least to Level 2 for the Level 1 Mercenaries to appear in the "Hire Screen".

Drastically Expand the Sense of Discovery in Deadfire
DexGames posted a question in Backer Beta Bugs and Support
In fact I don't know if it's a Bug or Intended, so I post it here so this works as a Suggestion aswell. So, when you're Exploring the World Map, even if you don't Land (Dock your ship on an Island) : Everything [Cache/Ingredients/Etc] appears on your Map, even if you didn't came close by & sort of "Discovered" it. That's why I'm not sure if it was intended or not. Nonetheless, I think the fact that everything is in front of you, waiting, reduces enormously the potential of Exploration & Discovery in the Game. One simple thing could drastically change that : HIDE THEM & Take Advantage of one of the Passive Skills. That would result in : Expands the feeling, and the Will to Discover & Explore. Make a great additional use of the Survival Skill [or Create an "Exploration" one], & would makes us wanna invest in it. New interest to the World Map. Reward the players that actually take the time to Explore each & every corner of the Game. Let's say there's a Cache near Poko Kohara : The same Cache at the same spot can be found by a Player that invested into the appropriate Skill and is rewarded with a cool unique Cloak of Flames. That other Player will not, but that's ok. It adds also to the Replayability of the Game, where you constantly discover new things you didn't in your first playthrough, because you were playing differently. One of the cool thing Wasteland 2 made, was that they were taking advantage of their Survival Skill. Where, when you were exploring the World Map, the Survival Skill passively made you discovered hidden things in the World. You could potentialy miss lots of cool stuff, loot, unique encounters, caches, etc. That was pretty cool. I'd hugely request & sincerely encourage the Devs to take inspiration from what Wasteland 2 introduced back then, and implement something like this in Deadfire. Especially in a Game that has a World Map you're free to Explore. What do you think ? I truely think it's a wasted opportunity if it's not in the game... I've mentioned it back in the Fig Campaign & in the previous Q&As : Hidden Content has always been a great thing in these Games. -
Hey Friends, since we're talking about this... I was thinking about 21:9 for about a year & a half now, but couldn't make a choice yet. May I ask if you did go for an Ultrawide 1080p or 1440p ? With what kind of Graphic Card, all that stuff. Still got my GTX 970 4GB on board... I love gaming, but I'm also the music producer for my band, I do the Recording/Mastering & all these things so I need the most Real Estate I can get. (real estate isn't the right word I think, I mean the most "Working Space" if that's clearer). And you know, when I say "gaming", I'm on Obsidian's Forum for a reason... I love the kind of games they make, Deadfire style, Tyranny, Baldur's Gate... Small Gaming Requirements basically. If you did go for the 1080p height : Is there something you regret & makes you think "hmm I should have gone for the 1440p height" or even higher ? Or vice-versa ? I'm curious, my monitor died recently so I'm about to make a choice real soon... I'd take any advice. EDIT : I confirm, they said Deafire will fully support this Aspect Ratio, so I'm definitely going to buy one.

Yeah, the Colorblind Mode does'nt seem to include these links. But for something as important as colorblind issue, I'm sure your feedback will be heard. Josh is Colorblind too so, I'd assume he's your best bet for this to be fixed.

[Single Class Druid] - Shifter Subclass
DexGames replied to DexGames's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
Well, I think Jerek's just summarized it all... I don't know if there's one particular person in Obsidian's Team in charge of the Druid Class, but it'd be nice to engage the conversation with him/her, while things aren't definitely established. And see what's his/her thoughts on that. I know they pay attention though, so thats a good thing
