Blood pool clarification
InsaneCommander replied to gkathellar's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
I don't really care about the Backer npcs since you can sacrifice them in other ways, but I'd love to throw more than one companion in the pit, even if I got no bonus after the first. -
I guess Berath's the Wheel is inside the planet. There are so many souls there that a greater god could have been formed there. Or was there since the beginning. And if the souls come from inside the planet like Od Nua seemed to imply (to me at least) well... the Engwithan machines seemed to prevent the souls from reaching new bodies and they were in part underground. It'd make sense.

Good points, gkathellar and Elerond. Since we don't know the origin and destiny of souls and Rymrgand could be lying, the "best" thing would be to trust the wheel (which is not Berath's, btw...) and send the souls back there. The interesting thing is that, apparently, Woedica was created by volunteers (although that vision in the end included children, I'm not sure they would qualify as such). I imagine the same happened with the other gods, but Eothas probably wouldn't like to be recreated with the hollowborn's souls. I wonder if the machines that created the other gods are in other continents. If we had to visit them in the sequel, it'd be a good excuse to send the party to other interesting places of Eora, like the Living Lands and TWTW.

As it is, souls already break apart and reform all the time as part of Berath's Wheel. Only Woedica and Rymrgand's choices are harmful in the long term. All of the others have their pros and cons. I think it depends on the Watcher's opinions. If he/she doesn't care the Gods are not real, supporting Woedica is not necessarily bad. If Rymrgand is right and all souls are fated to disintegrate, then satisfying him is not harmful in the long term, because it won't change anything. It may be harmful on the short term though. If there is reincarnation, death is not really a problem, people will die anyway and forget everything. Except for those whose souls are destroyed, but many don't care about it, like the pale elves in Noonfrost, some people that sacrifice willingly to the Ethik Nol (for the first time I notice the "ethics" in their name lol) and the people that "became" Woedica. Anyway, many souls go through the wheel without breaking apart, but if you turn the holloborn into essence, they all will cease to exist as individuals.

Durance tries to interact with Magran, but only if you speak with Galawain before speaking with the other Gods (after doing their quests). She totally ignores him, as if she can't even see him. Later, when I spoke with Durance, my charater told him that his soul was damaged and Magran couldn't recognize him. But if you speak with other Gods first, he will not try to interact with Magran when you speak with Galawain. Apparently, as soon as you find out about Woedica's plan, an option to talk with Durance appears and his quest updates, preventing his reaction when you see Magran.

But... option 3?
InsaneCommander replied to ibanix's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Did the baby cry when the party jumped in that hole to get to Sun in Shadow? -
They can make a sequel in the Vailian Republics (for example) and mention some of what happened in the first game. It wouldn't be difficult to acomodate all endings. I wanted to lock Durance and Grieving Mother in the sanitarium, but my character wouldn't let me. Just like when she left the Leaden Key meeting without killing them. I thought "they will cause trouble, the mercenaries will remember the Hylea Godlike, they are evil! Kill them all!" But no, she said they might not be aware of what their organization was really doing. Well, at least she wouldn't ever side with them.

Lying to a god?
InsaneCommander replied to RevBlue's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
My character had a happy ending, believing that she chose the only good God. If she knew what happens when you betray Hylea... -
What ending did you choose?
InsaneCommander replied to dirigible's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
I chose Hylea because my character was good and cared about the suffering of the mothers. Since nothing was said in the ending about wichts or the former hollowborn being traumatized, I assume that no wicht received a soul and the former hollowborn didn't have any problems. For me it seemed that Berath was just trying to convince me. If they were damaged, why would they be any better after going through the wheel? Don't remember anything explaining that. Let's see in the sequel if I'm right. The fact is that the gods were all selfish. They wanted to gain more followers, strengthen their followers (Magran, Galawain and Abbidon are the most worshipped in the Dyrwood) or do something related to their portfolio. Restoring Eothas would be cool, but would he want that? Maybe in the sequel his followers find out the truth and try to recreate him. I'd certainly want to know how they "programed" the gods with their portfolios. And what did Magran mean with "prepare them to face the challenges that will follow"? Is something worse about to happen in the Dyrwood? Edit: The wiki says "Though parents of Hollowborn would remain just that, the end of Waiwen's Legacy would bring about a spate of new, healthy births, with many of the infants bearing souls once meant for Hollowborn children. " So some souls don't spend much time in the wheel. http://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Pillars_of_Eternity_endings -
Adra Dragon fight
InsaneCommander replied to durbal's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
It took me sometime to understand that I had to be far away. But then, with some figurine dragon fodder, Ninagauth's Freezing Pillars and Sunlances it was actually one of the easiest fights in the game. Ok, I was overkilled in the first three atempts... but once you know her range there is no problem. Edit: here is the end of the fight: I used some consumables and scrolls because some characters didn't survive the first tries*, but I don't think it made any difference this time, because the enemies were attacking the figurine fools and I still had some unused. Some Xaurips did attack Eder, but ignored the others. Now I remember that I used Consecrated Ground, so maybe somebody got hurt and regenerated, but some people came with less than maximum health. * I mean they didn't survive the first attack lol. The others died a little later. -
I really like the duelist hat. But without an attribute bonus I prefer to use other headgear.

No, no, no. Where are your priorities? - we need to start a kickstarter to hire a full-time voice actor to narrate the forums. I'm tired of reading through post after post, page after page. I want to be able to hear it all. Preferably from a VA who can do multiple voices to keep the personalities straight. A stretch-goal could include narrating the buttons too when you hover over them. 'More Reply Options' is just too much.

That's really disappointing. Has anyone played with a priest of Magran? I'm planning to play as a Death Godlike Bleak Walker, but if there is any class that gets a lot of interesting dialogue options, I may change my plans. Sorry if it was mentioned by someone, but I'm not reading everything (specially the post above, which says "massive spoilers"...) because I haven't finished the game yet.
