That is actually a question I've asked myself for a long time, actually. If I had to guess, I would say it is not much longer. But I still don't believe we will play as the Watcher again. Hard to go more epic than what we have already seen without going too far. But... maybe the Watcher can appear, as a NPC or plot point, or maybe... What if the game opens with the Watcher dying, and the new PC finding his/her soul, and maybe being bound to it? No idea how that would work from a roleplaying or even gameplay standpoint, having a PC with two souls, but it does sound like something the could happen. That is a good idea. The new character would have a reason to seek the returning companions and maybe we could even receive some of abilities/talents from our previous character.

Devil of Caroc

She is the best. Do you have Zahua in your party? There is a simple but funny conversation between them that is my favorite. -
Did you kill Harmke?
InsaneCommander replied to adikKt's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
The local "lord" was the mayor. I think she accepted everything done by the watcher (at least in my case). So... good riddance Harmke! And what will happen with Gilded Vale? I have extraordinary reputation there. Assuming my character didn't abandon Caed Nua as is implied by the ending slides, will the local population start coming to her for assistance? She did "ruin" her reputation (as a Bleak Walker) when she gave 1000 cp to the peasants. No, she is not benevolent, she just wanted to avoid a rebellion while dealing with Gathbin (what is 1000 cp to her? She had over 100000!). I bet they would consider her their new ruler. And yes, I know that extending her lands like that is not how the feudal society works, but the Marshal will certainly tell the erl about those ogres and who won the battle of Yenwood. -
This is more difficult than I thought. I came up with this definition: a being that people believe to be powerful, affect their lives and that they pray for, love or are afraid of. But then I noticed that the alien example that I gave fits here too... If you consider real life, there must be thousands of gods in all different religions. And depending on who you ask, only one of them would be real (or none). So if you consider that and the fact that some religions probably started with a single person, then the definition doesn't need to include more than one believer and it's just about that, believing. They don't need to be real. And if you rule out the believing part, then you could use one of the previous definitions in this thread.

What if an alien came to Earth, did some tricks and lots of sane people believed he was a god, then he leaves and dies and people continues to believe? I want the "are you retarded?" dialog for the conversation with Skaen in the end. When we ask him about all we have done against Woedica, he doesn't answer, talking about Thaos' failure. Then he says that Woedica keeps her promises, but she never promises anything, she just looks. If I'm wrong my character just broke another promise to a god and lost the chance of becoming her favored, but I don't think that her looking counts as a promise. So why should I believe him?

Just Pause Button, PLEASE
InsaneCommander replied to Alweth's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
This could be an option for the players that want it. Nobody else would be affected. Another example not covered by autopause is pathfinding. Sometimes you need to bring back that melee character that is running to the opposite direction of the enemy, just because he couldn't move between your other characters. -
We "saw" Abiddon creating the Eyeless so he had that body for some time before the moon fell. If Woedica didn't try to stop it, either she was confident that it wouldn't be a problem (maybe she still had more power than the others), she knew Abiddon would act or she understood that trying to stop it would be risky. I assume that giving himself a body, Abiddon accepted to be more vulnerable. Or Woedica didn't care about losing the Engwithans. She can't be a goddess of revenge if there is nothing to be avenged, just like Skaen wanted the souls to be given to Woedica. He didn't want to end his slavery (or anyone else's, probably). He can't be a god of the oppressed if there is nobody to oppress others...

Just Pause Button, PLEASE
InsaneCommander replied to Alweth's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Even worse: when it happens 2 or 3 times in sequence. This has been discussed before. They could give different keys for pause/unpause or prevent unpause right after pausing. -
What I don't understand is why Eothas would be ok with the moon dropping and revolt against Woedica later for a smaller thing. Maybe he doesn't care about the hollowborn, he just didn't want to see Woedica become more powerful? They speak as if she is restoring her power, so she did have more in the past and the other gods did something about it. Who knows how much of their history we don't know. Sorry to necro...

@EphemeralToast maybe you should try to contact the author of the post. I tried to download the portraits too and I couldn't. Here is another group: Edit: I changed some pictures that were in the wrong size. Priestess of Wael: Druid/Wizard: Orlan Ranger with Wolf: Human Ranger with bear: Human Ranger without bear:

Here is my list: 1- Have a bigger part of the world map accessible from the beginning 2- A falcon/eagle/hawk companion. No idea how to implement it, but it would be cool! 3- More quests like the B. of Yenwood. It could be optional in case someone didn't like it. Make it increasing in difficult, a real war. 4- More Soulbound weapon requirements like the Grey Sleeper's 5- Let the player character choose some dialogue options that require an attribute value even if they don't have it (they will fail). Just to get a comment from the npcs (they will mock or be anger, etc). This could be useless for people who can see the requirement, so maybe they could have a small % chance to succeed. 6- MUCH more reactivity for culture/background/class... 7- More scripted interactions, like in WM I and II Minor things: - Have a third character comment on the others' banters. It could be something quick or simple. It's strange when nobody laughs at somethings they say (like the Devil talking with Zahua for example. How come nobody laugh or take the opportunity to mock one of then?) - Show some hair in a character wearing a hat. I know we rarely look at then so close, but it is strange - Better bonus for Godlikes - Option to have different keys for pause and unpause

I'm playing on hard and I thought it was a bug. But it became much easier with the right combination of traps, scrolls (paralysis, confusion, defence) and figurines. This is the non-spoiler board so... Don't give up like that. There is a huge difference in difficult depending on what you do at the beginning of the battle. I don't have a wizard or priest, but the scrolls make miracles. Some battles I lose and when I try again being careful it looks like I'm playing on normal.

This is much easier than it seems. On my first try, without reading this thread, I slaughtered his entire camp and, although I'm playing as a Bleak Walker, I tried to get as much information as possible from the dialogue. I always do this, but usually just kill the npcs in the end (like the Leaden Key assassins in Stormwall Gorge that were about to surrender but then I attacked then lol). Anyway, in the end he refused to work together. Then I came read this thread and could swear I had reached that last line ("Give me a chance"). I even chose that Resolve 17 line. So I tried again and was going to choose that option ("Give me a chance") this time. But I must have done something different now, because he accepted peace when I chose the option "Maybe two watchers can figure out..." The first time I chose one aggressive option ("your men should have kept their distance from me"), so that is probably the reason it didn't work out then. I think you need to avoid angering him, but you certainly don't need to chose any diplomatic lines. I didn't, I'm a Bleak Walker! But I heard he will help me at Yenwood, so I'll spare him. This way everybody is happy. I keep my reputation as a Bleak Walker, he gets help against the army and everyone in the camp dies. Here is most of the dialogue (I couldn't get the beginning):

I'd be nice to have different ways to finish some quests, maybe some way related to your class. In this case, for example, you should be able to steal the rock with your rogue or distract the Dragon with a Chanter. I prefer to avoid too many spoilers for you, so let me just say this: there is at least one more situation like that. I was given the option to do something cruel and Hiravias made a comment that showed that he didn't like it. But when I did it he didn't speak anymore. It was really strange. But there is also at least one situation that allows you to talk and solve things diplomatically. The game has room for improvement, but if you enjoyed it so far, you'll like the rest. Especially the expansions.

Thanks for the answers. I'll go with the healbot and a chanter tank. -
POTD Party Help.
InsaneCommander replied to Jabbott's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
If you are fighting the druids in Stormwall Gorge, then maybe you should return later at a higher level. On my current playthrough (hard) I was not ready for them and came back later. The quests and enemies in Defiance Bay should be easier. I'm already planning my third playthrough, on PoTD, so I'll ask some questions here too. I'm considering basically the same party but with a priest instead of the druid. I'll be ready to have everyone doing some tanking if necessary, except for the Wizard and the Cipher. 1- Is it essential to have a fighter? Can I have these main tanks instead: the Damaging Healbot* and a chanter (with heavy armor and shield)? 2- If I have a fighter, can I give him a two handed weapon later in the game (a soulbound from WM II)? Or will he have problems surviving without a shield? 3- Has anyone tried a melee wizard in PoTD? *: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/85077-build-idea-the-damaging-healbot/?hl=healbot -
How can I get to the ledge in the ice chute inside the Flames-That-Whispers cave? The Wiki says the character must have Dexterity 16, but I have 18 (with bonuses from equipment, food, resting and salt mast) and no matter what I do I the group always fall. Edit: You need to send somebody with Dexterity 16 to secure the hook, not necessarily the main character. There must be a random chance of success, because I tried at least two times with my main character, once with dex 16 and once with 18, and I couldn't do it. Or I don't remmeber very well, I was playing at 3 in the morning yesterday... I gained the Golden Gaze rod.
