  1. Weebam-NA has **** on his mind. If Oblivion rumors were actually interesting.
  2. The movie just feels too... Hollywood I guess. Like a Saturday Morning Cartoon version of Apocalypto as you mentioned. I also liked how they walked 15 feet to reach a jungle from their icy mountains, then walked another 15 feet through the jungle to reach the desert. The only way I can imagine someone really enjoying the movie is if they were going in with the mindset of watching a Mummy adventure movie that was trying too hard to take itself seriously. I thought the giant bird attack was cool though, and the idea that mammoths were used to build the pyramids.
  3. It was not the wipe problem. My computer just started acting weird, I uninstalled it and it went back to normal. I would just advise extreme caution Thanks for the heads up. I just finished the tutorial and created a new party. Haven't noticed any odd computer behavior but I'll keep an eye out.
  4. I would be careful with that, it's still a dangerous product. It wiped out my hard drive years ago. I recently tried playing it again and it just messed with my computer, like no game ever has, I finally broke the CD's so I would not be tempted to play it again, what I was able to play sucked anyway. Diablo - Currently on the 6th floor about to enter THE CHAMBER OF BONE. Currently level 13 and it has gotten a bit easier. Hmm, I've read that once patched RomD is fairly stable and doesn't have the wipe problem.
  5. I finally finished Pools of Darkness. Had a great time playing the classic Radiance series (Pool of Radiance, Hillsfar, Curse of the Azure Bonds, Secret of the Silver Blades & Pools of Darkness). Pools of Darkness was both literally and figuratively an epic end to the series. The last boss fight with Gothmenes was really brutal and I had to lower the difficulty level down to easy and use cheap tactics to win. It was a three round fight with rooms full of minions of bane, beholders and pets of kalistes. After finally beating it I tried Dave's Challenge (an optional ending location to test how good your characters are) and I'm proud to say that I made it all the way to the final battle, but (Like in IwD 2, the Black Dragon fight and the hero's graveyard) it was just too hard. Dave's challenge made the final Gothmenes fight look like a pack of Kobolds. I've kept a few save files in case I want to retry Dave's Challenge but for now I'm going to move on to Pool of Radiance II: Ruins of Myth Drannor. I found a downloadable hack/patch that allows me to speed up or slow down the game so battle sequences wont end up lasting hours as each enemy takes a turn.
  6. What really hurt Diablo 2 for me was the death system (respawning instead of dead = dead) and the all the enemies reset after quitting the game unlike Diablo 1. I'm hoping if/when Diablo 3 is made, they go back to the original Diablo for enemy spawns & dying.
  7. The overland map(s) are huge areas, as in Fallout (although in Fallout it was just one contiguous area; in SoZ, there are multiple large, non-contiguous areas). I made a demo character for my Paris GDC presentation and it was a ranger with a dino animal companion. Total ownage. Dino companions!? Be still my beating heart. I want a ceolophysis! http://www.cedargrove.k12.nj.us/north/medi...Coelophysis.gif Don't really understand why people feel dinosaurs don't fit in D&D. Like saying the cats and dogs don't fit in a fantasy setting because they are *real* animals. Well... so were dinosaurs...
  8. The third link down is about cannibalism. Based on every other link talking about abuse, which was still pretty sick and twisted, it sounds like 'The Sun' turned it into a freakish 'eating peices of the boy day by day' type story. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article1314511.ece 'The Sun' basically sounds like a version of U.S.A.'s 'The National Enquirer', which contains provocative articles on bat boy and images of satan in bread. It sounds like it was still horrible abuse, but not nearly as horrible as being eaten alive bit by bit over a period of days.
  9. John Candy and Chris Farley are two that come to mind. If we're talking about deceased comedians. I've laughed at some of Carlin's routines, but no where near dozens upon dozens of other comedians. I will admit that he is/was funnier than Larry the Cable Guy. That's not saying much though. Also, when I said 'obnoxious hippy', I was basing that more on him off stage. He was... well, just not someone I'd like to know personally. Also, I obviously wasn't comparing his comedy to Stan Winston. Winston made some decent special effects, but I have no idea about the jokes he cracked. Comparing him in a sense that I've been more affected/appreciative by/of Stan Winston's work over Carlin's comedy.
  10. Not much of a Carlin fan. He was an obnoxious hippy. Though I did like his comedy about dogs. Much more bummed about Stan Winston passing away.
  11. All of the episodes of Firefly are available on http://www.hulu.com/firefly. I really enjoyed the series. My only real complaint would be a few very odd calls on part of the captain. Willing to let some real 'evil' villains live while killing other lesser people without a problem. Episode 12: The Message is my least favorite. A decision near the end of the episode shows the captain as either being extremly stupid, or extremly uncaring about his 'friends'. This is a relatively minor complaint though, compared to how consistently awesome the episodes are.
  12. The Mist aka What NOT to do in case of Alien Invasion. Have mixed feelings, as certain parts are REALLY well done, yet others are rather annoying. Didn't like the standard Stephen King 'crazy person'. Every movie of his seems to involve one or two characters that are so far fetched they really start hurting any symblance of reality. Could have done without the religious mumbo jumbo. The movie was also extremly predictable... I was calling events left and right and then laughing when they happened. I thought the critters were cool though, and I liked a lot of the suspense moments. Overall, the best Stephen King movie I've seen, though that isn't saying much.
  13. Currently playing the ancient (but still awesome) Pools of Darkness, and the overland map description of Storm of Zehir sounds awesome in its retro-goodness. I do have to admit I'm a bit disapointed that the expansion isn't level 30-40 and a continuation for the Knight Captain. It may not be epic level, but it does sound like epic win nevertheless! Chult = sweet.
  14. 'The shirts themselves, all produced by the American Life League, displayed photos of unborn babies and pro-life messages.' If the kid was wearing one with an aborted fetus I'm sure it would have been a bigger part of the story.
  15. I saw the images in a picture by checking the story. They sure as hell looked gooey and unpleasant. Ultimately the school is doing the kid a favour. They won't do anything for their own cause by being so confrontational. 'The shirts themselves, all produced by the American Life League, displayed photos of unborn babies and pro-life messages. One shirt read, "Abortion: Growing, Growing, Gone," a second read, "What part of abortion don't you understand?" and the third read, "Never Known
  16. Yuusha, we're not talking about someone out and about on the street, but in school. If you are a student in a classroom your free speech is limited to say the least. If you just start talking in class, or disrupting class in any way you WILL get in trouble. A long, long time ago in a galaxy far away, when I was in High School any image on a shirt that was deemed inapropriate resulted in the student being either forced to turn his/her shirt inside out or being sent home for a change of clothes. I'm frankly surprised this student was allowed to wear it so long. It actually sounds like they were being quite leniant and sensitive and, as many have pointed out, that this student/student's parents are trying to make a point. What about schools in Indonesia? Do they allow a student to wear/say anything they want when they want during class? I'm actually genuinely interested in the rules of schooling in other countries. Also, I'm not sure how truly vulgar the shirt was. From my understanding the shirt showed three pictures. The first two showed a growing fetus at different stages while the third simply showed a black empty image (I.E. the fetus no longer exists), NOT a dead aborted fetus, so I don't know why posters keep mentioning foul images on his shirt.
  17. Just what kind of stink are we talking about here?
  18. Hah, Bauer gets a lot better at torture as the series went on! +6 Torture skill every season! Really though, there is a big difference between an agent learning new hand to hand skills, picking a lock faster or learning to aim more precisely and having a magical endless bag of holding for his pistol clips in, what I thought, was a modern setting.
  19. Many people have pointed this out, but the big issue that I personally have with infinite ammo is setting and tone. The whole spy thing, with all the JBs, Bauer, Bond & Borne brings up images of spies/agents using small arms weapons, running out of ammo and having to use their ninja skills to survive, not firing their pistol... non-stop till the end of time. Hell, even in Neverwinter Nights you don't have unlimited arrow supply.
  20. I wish Obsidian had updated NwN 2 OC with some of MotB new features, like the MUCH improved influence meter that uses a simple 0-100 rating system along with a defining word like Loyal, Neutral etc. That and the new rest system where you can choose to rest to a certain time of day. It wouldn't have really been necessary in NwN 2, as time was in no way a factor to events, but it still would have been nice so the player could enjoy certain parts of the day more.
  21. News story about a man... who LOVES picnic tables. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MbY0j02cNqY...feature=related One word: Splinters? YEOUCH! Duct Tape Bandit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F79iThUEWFg Look at me... do I look like a Duct Tape Bandit Baby!?
  22. Looking good. I'm especially glad to hear you can customize your character's appearance.
  23. Well... is the news false? Yes or no? Do you just ignore that this is happening, or do you actually hate homosexuals and agree that should be hanged? Or is it just western propaganda that homosexuals are murdered and that what Achmadinejad (whatever his name is) said, 'NO HOMOSEXUALS IN IRAN' ::cough:: cause they're all killed ::cough::, is true. Inquiring minds want to know. I notice those who seem to defend Iran just skirt around the issue or change the subject.
  24. I have no idea how you would know as I wasn't asking you, or anyone specifically. Just amazes me these fools have been stewing in a basement plotting for... how long has it been now? Over a flippin' cartoon. What happened to sending a letter of disaproval...
  25. How many cat skeletons have you seen in a tree? It will probably come down when it feels like it.
