  1. Dealing with a massive bout of insomnia. Sex followed by two highballs of Knob Creek didn't even help. But compared to what some of you folks are dealing with... I have no problems. Might as well get some work done.
  2. In the NFL in the US, why do teams fire coaches who have failed only to replace them with coaches who have failed elsewhere? Wouldn't it save a lot of time to keep the failure you have? The length of time a dog spends selecting that perfect place to poop is inversely proportional to the temperature outside, but only when he knows you're waiting for him.
  3. I know exactly how you feel Trashman. I lost a two family members over the years. One of them could have been saved had it been caught in time. Heck we've lost two members of this very board to cancer in recent months. The best thing anyone can do is take care of their bodies, you only get one. And make the most of every day you have, sick or healthy.
  4. Happy belated B-Day KP!
  5. Walsie I just believe that human beings would rather do the right thing in life than the wrong thing, I believe in the inherent good of people. And even though this may make no sense in the political bedlam of places like the Middle East I still think people would rather live in a prosperous and stable country than a country wracked by violence. Its up to the leaders of those countries to make the correct decisions to uplift there citizens to the standards of Western countries, yes it will be hard but its not insurmountable I used to think this way. I was forcibly disabused of that notion though. Once you see what's behind the curtain you don't believe in magic anymore!
  6. Today (yesterday actually) I did nothing. Literally nothing. First time in a long time. It felt pretty good! The snow is starting to melt now so today I'll get something done.
  7. You guys should look into solar panels. I installed two 18x12 and it has cut my bills by a third easy
  8. Now, GO SAINTS. I'm not a fan but I just HATE the Eagles.
  9. Wow what a game. It reminds me of the Oilers-Bills game from the 90s.
  10. Icewind Dale. And so help me this time I WILL finish it!
  11. This year I am resolving to finally buy a modern home entertainment system. But this time I'm going all out. Insanely big TV, wireless surround, gaming system, the whole 9 yards. My TV isn't bad, it's a 50" LED. But it won't WOW you either. I was debating which gaming system but when I saw the Witcher is coming out with a PS4 title that kind of settled it. Time to start saving some cash.
  12. Happy New Year everyone. Feliz Nuevo Ano todas. I'm laying on the couch watching the NHL winter classic, then the Rose Bowl. I've got venison cooking in the smoker and blackberry pie in the oven. Fiancée is working today and I wanted to have a nice dinner ready when she gets home.
  13. Fiancée is working nights this week. That means beer for dinner! I think I'll have an appetizer of Sam Adams, followed by a main course of Sam Adams. I'll skip dessert though, still have some work to do tonight.
  14. Don't worry, you're in good company I figure with the arsenal I have there are two or three lists my name pops up on. Besides, being counted as an enemy to this government is something to be proud of!
  15. I agree with you completely on this. Sometimes you just are what you are. Obsidian in not Bethsoft right now. But if the Eternity IP is a hit and follow on projects get big money backing from publishers then that will open up new possibilities later. In the meantime do what you do better than anyone else.
  16. Candy Crush Saga. Damn the person who told me I should try it!
  17. Guys I appreciate the fact that you are also supportive of Romance in Bioware games but end of the day its not a game about sex. So you shouldn't expect sex scenes that are too explicit and vivid Remember Romance even though it is an enjoyable part of the RPG experience its only a very small part of the overall game design and features that Bioware will include I don't mean to dampen your enthusiasm, I just don't want you to set your expectations too high. Gotta agree here. I've found most romance subplots to be a little silly and not worth the aggravation of navigating your way through the trip ups in the dialogue tree. DA1 being a prime example. Don't get me wrong, it would be great if it was done well, but more often than not it isn't.
  18. Arrived home from being away for four days and found front door was unlocked. Does not look like anyone took advantage though. That's one nice thing about living in the woods at the back end of nowhere.
  19. I once worked for a company where the bonus was a butterball turkey. Yes the would literally give you a frozen, uncooked turkey. I was single at the time so I used to just give it away but that was our Christmas bonus.
  20. Wellllll. I've sold the idea to a couple of others and the idea is to restore/build new 1980's style video games machines, juke boxes, novelty refrigerators, pinball machines, soda machines that used the 8 oz glass bottles, light fixtures, etc. I've already found some interest from potential customers, collectors, sports bars etc. The restored ones still have the option to be coin operated but the ones we build ourselves won't be. I've looked into a lease on an HP design jet to make the labels and facings but start up costs are minimal but it is, of course, labor intensive. I don't know if this idea has wings or not but I'm going to give it a go.
  21. Spending Christmas with Lady GD & a rambunctious Rhodesian Ridgeback in a cabin in Gatlinburg. The view is incredible and there might be plenty of snow. Good snow, not that nasty gray stuff that we get here. We were supposed to leave last night but get held up to today.
  22. A lot going on these days. Very busy with work and a new business venture plus the never ending projects around the house. Its been cold as hell too. Yes, yes, I know you folks in Scandinavia & Canada laugh at what I call cold, but dammit it feels cold to me! But we're going on a little road trip to Gatlinburg tonight. I rented a cabin overlooking the park and we're going to take Tommy and spend Christmas there. I can't wait. Is it just me or do many of you folks have a case of the holiday blues? Reading your posts (except Wals) many of you seem kinda down.
  23. That is very cool. I just took my GF to Kauai for a week a few months ago. We had a really great time. It is y favorite of the islands so far.
  24. This sounds eerily familiar! I'll give you the same advice you gave me, do it with no expectations other than tow old friends meeting and see what happens. It was good advice by the way.
  25. We finalized the sale of our company today. I guess bittersweet is the best word. But it was a nice check to deposit. I'm starting a new venture I guessing most of you will get a kick out of. Especially if you were around in the 80's. Plus I signed a one year consulting contract with the new company so at least I'm not out of work.
