Again what I'm about to say here applies mainly to the US but when you get right down to it, gun control is nothing more than a group of politicians/political activists trying to take away something that you legally own, and have done nothing illegal with, away from you simply because they don't think you should have it. It is a small group of people with a little bit of political power asserting themselves as the ultimate arbiters of your life and property. That should offend anyone who has even the slightest inclination towards freedom and individual liberty. If nothing else it sets and awful precedent. If they can take away your legally owned property in this case, why not take away something else the powers that be don't think you should have next time? The precedent is set.

Rostere, you and I are seldom on the same side of any political issue and I disagree with you a little here. But... well said!

I bought four dump truck loads of chirt rock and had it poured along the road coming on to the property today. I then spent the rest of the day driving over it with a box frame disk on the back of my riding mower to cut it in and graded it by dragging four chained logs in a harness over it. The end result is a hard driveway that is a good six inches higher. That should help with flooding this year. Tomorrow I start cutting and leveling the ground to make a paver driveway in front of the house. I have a feeling I'll be hiring someone to finish that one. It's a hell of a lot of work that I've never tried to do before.

How so ? I mean if everyone had guns, at least they would have been able to shoot back, but that presumes everyone being armed all the time. Doesn't seem very plausible. I have a permit and carry almost everywhere I go.

Gun control is not, and has never been about crime. Crime is just a convenient pretext that politicians use to distract people from the fact that they are trying to take away your freedom. Not all of it, and not all at once. But this one is the ultimate safeguard of all the others. Speaking only to my fellow Americans who are in favor of total gun control; are you willing to fight a civil war to get it?

No, I get Volo's humor... you can't always be sure though

I came across a game called X-Rebirth while searching to see who owned the Master of Orion license. It looked good until I read all the reviews out there. Not a single good one to be found. I know no developer ever set out to invest thousands of man hours to make something that sucked. It's just that some teams or concepts are so flawed they just can't help it.

Imagine how much simpler game development would be if they just too the sex/romance part out and focused on actually making the game with a good plot, logical conclusion options, a back story that makes sense, and a minimum of bugs. Since all development resources are finite expending them on making sex/romance subplots is a waste since no one will be happy with the choices anyway. It was a nice idea in theory.

I'm praying for the little guy Enoch, sounds like he will be fine though. Congrats to the new Dad! So.... will the fine cigar be delivered by Fed Ex or UPS?

Bummer of a loss last night for the Grizz. Durant is just a monster. He almost scored more points than our starting five combined. For real. It was still close for all that since OKC is sort of a one man show. But when that one man is that good, it's enough.

In the military we used to play a kind of "full contact" basketball. It was a long way from any rules I'd ever seen but it was fun. After 20 minutes if the score was 10 to 8 it was a high scoring game.

Spill your blasphemous opinions on CRPGs here
Guard Dog replied to IndiraLightfoot's topic in Computer and Console
Ok, here's my $.02 With PE I have bought my last CRPG.... ever.... unless someone brings the Planescape setting or something similar back. Or Fallout 4 looks good. Anyone who didn't like Torment should have their head examined Anyone who did like NWNs official material... see above I never figured out how to cast a spell in NWN 2, it was a pain in the ass that ruined the game, unless you play as a fighting class which I always do anyway Morrowind was ugly but good Skyrim was beautiful but bad Why can't we switch those two? I have gotten more enjoyment from the story in bad novels than the story of good games (except Torment) RTS Games are more enjoyable than CRPGs Politically correct guidelines and publishers nannyisms will prevent any CRPG from being any good. Except, hopefully, PE and finally D&D rules should only be used by skinny pimple faced geeks rolling dice in the back booth of a Pizza Hut in Topeka KS at 11pm in 1987... not by modern game developers. /rant -
No idea what might live there Bruce. Probably a rodent of one type or another. You have a lot of different critters where you live than I do.

In any other division the Grizz would be in second place. Seven games over .500 in the southwest is only good enough for 4th. The southwest is just tough this season. The Spurs are no surprise but who would have thought the rockets would be this strong.

The Lost Dogs: Michael Vick's Dogs and Their Tale of Rescue and Redemption by Jim Gorant. Vick and his "crew" really were a bunch of savages. It really galls me that he is back in the NFL. If we applied his own "training" methods to him then after that game last season where he threw six interceptions he should have been shot, or hung, or drowned, or electrocuted. After all when his dogs lost or wouldn't fight that's what he did to them.

You're making me feel old Tagaziel!

I thought most folks laid off the Dew when they got out of college! After all, since they took Jolt Cola away from us the Dew is the most caffeine you can get in a can.

Hi GD What is the reason you keep rabbits? For food or just as pets ? Hmmm that question actually has two answers. Let's just say some things changed when Lady GD moved in. Oddly enough she has no qualms about eating the odd wild rabbit I have gotten during hunting season. But it's a lot harder to eat a critter you see every day and have named. For some at least. I hear you, I love eating wild rabbit. Its amazing how many people won't touch it because they see it as a pet Once it has a name it has become a de facto pet I've found. I never named them if I knew they would not be around long!

Corn Chowder and wild rice. Cooked in a crock pot all day

Is it just me or has professional athletes in Olympic sports (hockey) kind of taken some of the joy out of it? During the USA/Russia game everyone wanted to hearken back to the 1980 Miracle on Ice game. But it really doesn't fly because neither team were amateurs and 16 of the players on the ice here in the NHL. Same thing with USA Canada, wouldn't that be a little more exciting if these guys didn't all know each other and we had never seen them play each other before?

The heater in the rabbit pen crapped out last night. So this morning I found the odd sight of eight rabbits piled on top of each other trying to stay warm. It wasn't even that cold last night so I figured they're just wussies. The new heater works though... just checked it.

I nearly died when I read that!

Lady GD wants a big aquarium. I started building a base for it today. There is something imminently satisfying about doing something like that yourself
