  1. Splitting firewood is fun. There is definitely something relaxing about it, isn't there?
  2. I just can't get into All Star Games, not in any sport.
  3. Heading out to do some work around the property and to split firewood. We've used up a heck of a lot of it lately.
  4. NWN had one saving grace; there were at least 150 use made modules that were WAY better than the OC. SoU was ok, HotU was good. So NWN gets one of my votes for the OC only. Heck I thought Adam Millers Shadowlords campaign was worth the price of the game by itself. My other vote, and I know this won't be popular, goes to KOTOR II. For the first 2/3 of the game it was one of the greatest ever, then it completely fell off a cliff and became one of the worst. It just left you flat during that hurried and nonsensical ending.
  5. Slightly OT but the best game of the day will be Florida @ Kentucky tonight.
  6. I made a nice dinner for Lady GD along with chocolate from Kilwins and a little present. It was nice. What came after was nice too.
  7. It's cold and nasty outside, Lady GD is sick (occupational hazard being around sick people all day) so it sounds like a good day to stay on the couch, watch stuff on Netflix and make popcorn. Yes that second part just got added to the plan.
  8. Men's Hockey USA 3 Russia 2. That game was epic!
  9. You got to love Canada: http://abcnews.go.com/Lifestyle/sochi-team-canada-free-beer-drink/story?id=22461979 It sort of a weird place sometimes, especially Quebec, but by God those folks have their priorities straight!
  10. Checking is not allowed in women's hockey. Only in men's hockey. Did not know that.
  11. ****, I hope you get well soon, that sounds awful! Take care of yourself. I did see some of the lingerie images of those russian players, and I sort of wonder how the hell they are able to play hockey because they had very little visible muscle to talk of. But then, what you say rings true with what I saw. If there's very little body contact you don't really need the mass and muscles in the same way. I actually prefer watching clean games, not that I mind checking if it's done properly, but players seem to have some sort of retardation wich prevents them from keeping the stick on the ice and hands away from faces... Oh yeah, the passing was really sloppy. From the Russians at least. The japanese team at least could pass. They just couldn't score. Their first goal was just a happy accident
  12. I like the next one the best. I can just see it, a posh crowded casino in a fictional and heavilly sterotyped european country. Agent Sands strolls in wearing a perfectly cut tux, drinking a martini and still looking manly while doing it. At the roulette table a mysterious red haired beauty watches him enter. The story just writes itself! Until the alarm clock goes off!
  13. I'm watching the Japan/Russia womens hockey game. Apparently these ladies think a check is something you buy groceries with. There has been 0 contact in this game. On another note some of the Russian players are hot.
  14. I reloaded NWN 1 on my laptop. I forgot how bad it looked.
  15. Neverwinter Nights. Not the OC though. I just reloaded it today and figured I'd try some of the new modules that have posted the last few years. Does anyone know whatever happened to the City of Doors Initiative?
  16. Well, this federal employee thanks you! Well, if I look at it as buying you a drink (or many) it does take some of the sting out of it I wouldn't temp Enoch with a drink just yet, he has to show a measure of control till Mrs. Enoch pops out Enoch JR. Actually now is the time to indulge. He'll be too busy and tired soon!

  18. I just finished doing my taxes. And writing the biggest check of my life to the IRS. Needless to say I'm in a pretty foul mood right now.
  19. Happy belated b-day Nep.
  20. Just reading everyone's posts here brings me to two points I'd like to make. First off many of you seem to be using the words "regulate" and "educate" interchangeably. They are of course very different things. I'd have no problem with a government at any level spending money on educating the public to make healthy choices on their vices and eating habit. I think that money could be better spent on other things but... whatever. Regulation is a whole horse of another color. That is big brother coming into your homes, cars, personal spaces and pushing you around telling you what you may and may not eat/smoke/drink. It is tyranny even if he smiles and tells you it's for your own good. Sin taxes on things the government does not think you should have are a terrible idea. Taxation is not supposed to be used as a form of behavior modification. All to often it is and it ends up being both heavy handed and unfairly applied. The other point is that many of you, heck most of you, seem to view your governments as a paternal entity that cares for you and wants good things for you. Nothing could possibly be further than the truth. Governments, or the people in them, love themselves. They love their power and their influence and their (really your) money. Nothing else. They do not give a damn about you. If they think about you at all it is with indifference at best, contempt and disrespect at worst. You really do not want to give these people any more power over you and yours than is absolutely necessary to keep a society functioning. It always makes me wonder that even in this very thread many of you have vilified corporations who only care about money yet revere governments who only care about money.
  21. I had something witty to add but after reading Azdeus's post I can't remember what it was. Something about taxes I think.
  22. Trading posts with Oby is like wrestling a pig. All you get is dirty and the pig likes it!
  23. My favorite was the Revan identity reveal cutscene in KOTOR. But then again I didn't see it coming so it had some good shock value.
  24. Thought Police of course. You know that's coming too.
