  1. Don't worry, you're in good company I figure with the arsenal I have there are two or three lists my name pops up on. Besides, being counted as an enemy to this government is something to be proud of!
  2. I agree with you completely on this. Sometimes you just are what you are. Obsidian in not Bethsoft right now. But if the Eternity IP is a hit and follow on projects get big money backing from publishers then that will open up new possibilities later. In the meantime do what you do better than anyone else.
  3. Candy Crush Saga. Damn the person who told me I should try it!
  4. Guys I appreciate the fact that you are also supportive of Romance in Bioware games but end of the day its not a game about sex. So you shouldn't expect sex scenes that are too explicit and vivid Remember Romance even though it is an enjoyable part of the RPG experience its only a very small part of the overall game design and features that Bioware will include I don't mean to dampen your enthusiasm, I just don't want you to set your expectations too high. Gotta agree here. I've found most romance subplots to be a little silly and not worth the aggravation of navigating your way through the trip ups in the dialogue tree. DA1 being a prime example. Don't get me wrong, it would be great if it was done well, but more often than not it isn't.
  5. Arrived home from being away for four days and found front door was unlocked. Does not look like anyone took advantage though. That's one nice thing about living in the woods at the back end of nowhere.
  6. I once worked for a company where the bonus was a butterball turkey. Yes the would literally give you a frozen, uncooked turkey. I was single at the time so I used to just give it away but that was our Christmas bonus.
  7. Wellllll. I've sold the idea to a couple of others and the idea is to restore/build new 1980's style video games machines, juke boxes, novelty refrigerators, pinball machines, soda machines that used the 8 oz glass bottles, light fixtures, etc. I've already found some interest from potential customers, collectors, sports bars etc. The restored ones still have the option to be coin operated but the ones we build ourselves won't be. I've looked into a lease on an HP design jet to make the labels and facings but start up costs are minimal but it is, of course, labor intensive. I don't know if this idea has wings or not but I'm going to give it a go.
  8. Spending Christmas with Lady GD & a rambunctious Rhodesian Ridgeback in a cabin in Gatlinburg. The view is incredible and there might be plenty of snow. Good snow, not that nasty gray stuff that we get here. We were supposed to leave last night but get held up to today.
  9. A lot going on these days. Very busy with work and a new business venture plus the never ending projects around the house. Its been cold as hell too. Yes, yes, I know you folks in Scandinavia & Canada laugh at what I call cold, but dammit it feels cold to me! But we're going on a little road trip to Gatlinburg tonight. I rented a cabin overlooking the park and we're going to take Tommy and spend Christmas there. I can't wait. Is it just me or do many of you folks have a case of the holiday blues? Reading your posts (except Wals) many of you seem kinda down.
  10. That is very cool. I just took my GF to Kauai for a week a few months ago. We had a really great time. It is y favorite of the islands so far.
  11. This sounds eerily familiar! I'll give you the same advice you gave me, do it with no expectations other than tow old friends meeting and see what happens. It was good advice by the way.
  12. We finalized the sale of our company today. I guess bittersweet is the best word. But it was a nice check to deposit. I'm starting a new venture I guessing most of you will get a kick out of. Especially if you were around in the 80's. Plus I signed a one year consulting contract with the new company so at least I'm not out of work.
  13. Ultra sexy = unattainable. See? Still bad!
  14. I am mourning the loss of a dear friend who passed away much too young. No, not the dog, thank God. He's fine. It's that brand new laptop I just bought. After just 10 short months of being dragged around the country, designing and building public Wi-Fi access points in the smallest and dumpiest malls and schools in the mid-south, countless hours campaigning in Skyrim and across the war torn battlefields of 1700s Europe (ETW for those who don't get the reference), and watching every Tampa Bay Rays game that came on while I was on the road this year, she refused to boot up Monday morning. What a bummer! Fortunately thanks to the folks at Dell who honored their warrantee and SkyDrive & MacAfee online back up services I'm back in business!
  15. If you guys ever get a chance please read the book "Playing the Enemy" by John Carlin. It is based around the 1995 Rugby World Cup but it is really a book about Mandela and how he found sports to be a way to build bridges between two different societies. The movie Invictus touched on it a little bit but the book is much better and goes into much greater detail. I know many books have been written about him but I found that one to be the best for the folks with a casual interest in him and the end of apartheid.
  16. LOL! so am I now that Shrike has retired!
  17. Just finished Cornwell's Sharpe's Eagle, it was my favorite of the series so far. I'm about half way through Wilderness by Lance Weller. This one got a lot of great reviews but I'm having a hard time getting into it.
  18. LOL please tell me you were wearing a white robe with the hood while you did that! Oh, wait.. on second thought that might not be a good look. People unfamiliar with the game might get the wrong idea... if you know what I mean!
  19. Lady GD had to work the previous night so I cooked. I cooked a turkey breast in the smoker for 5 hours and we had an intimate candlelight dinner on the porch (weather has been nice) of turkey, steamed mixed veggies (all fresh from the garden) and whipped sweet potato casserole & home made bread and a nice slightly sweet Riesling white wine. It was definitely one of the best T-giving dinners I've ever had and that is owed more to the company than the cooking! And my dog made out ok too, I cut chunks of turkey breast into his dinner!
  20. I'm cooking Hot Corn Chowder in the crock pot. It's like regular corn chowder but with fresh jalapenos chopped up in it. It's been cooking for 4 hours now and it smells soooo good.
  21. We (fiancée & I) started talking wedding plans for real. I was trying to make the case to elope to Vegas. The fish aren't biting on that lure, more is the pity. She asked who I'd invite. My only one would be my brother who most likely would/could not come. Heck it only makes sense to me to do something unconventional. This is the second time are around for both of us. Our parents have all passed on. Neither of us is close with extended family. But she is more religious than I am so she really wants it to be in church. I was hoping for the Stratosphere or Treasure Island in Vegas. Maybe we could compromise. Does anyone know of any catholic churches that have black jack tables and an open bar?
  22. You have to admit that would have been a much more impressive accomplishment.
  23. OK, let me clarify, I love that German restaurant on Poplar & Michigan St. in Memphis.
  24. I love German food with some authentic beer!
