  1. no waifus? oh poor op, your sexual fantasies will not be fulfilled in this video game. methinks op doth protest too much.
  2. I'll prepurchase so I can preload the game on Steam. I trust Tim and Leonard and the rest of the studio enough that I don't think they will ship a broken bad game. I have enough confidence that I'll enjoy the game that I don't need to rely on some gaming journalist to tell me what I'll think about an experience that is subjective.
  3. I'm wondering if you can be strategic with flaws, as in take a flaw that you know won't be relevant in the next quest area, and then replace it with another flaw when it becomes relevant. As in, let's say there is a flaw to take 20% more damage from robots, and your next area has no robots. Then replace it with a flaw when you know your next area has robots.
  4. Assuming that flaws are like perks from Fallout or quirks from Darkest Dungeon, then I would expect 3 at a time. Good question about whether there is a way to lock in flaws or replace them with another. Regarding the interview, some of the questions were really annoying, but I guess that is what Juba was going for. Funniest part was how Tim refused to eat the Hershey's bar. Into the trash it goes, where it belongs.
  5. Romance in video games has been pretty cringe worthy imo, glad they decided not to include it.
  6. to support a developer i believe in, giving them the benefit of the doubt.
  7. I would also like my money taken in exchange for a contract to play this game called the Outer Worlds. It looks incredible.
  8. you get a cannon and a sail that helps increase the stats and performance of your ship
  9. It depends on what type of gamer you are. Have you played Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, Icewind Dale 1 and 2, games like that? If so, and if you enjoy games like that, I highly recommend playing through POE1 and the WM DLCs. Note that this will take at least 40 hours of your time. If you are in a rush, and just want to play Deadfire, there is a nice feature that allows you to customize what your decisions in POE1 would have been. Note that after playing Deadfire, it will be more difficult to go back to POE1 given all of the improvements.
  10. Any known workaround for mouse clicks not registering? Ok, after some searching, I found it is the In Game Steam Overlay that is causing the issue. Turn off the Steam overlay in game, problem solved. Reference:https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/97411-input-device-mouse-click-doesnt-work-mostly/page-2?do=findComment&comment=2009442
  11. Hmm, you're right it can't be represented as a simple composition of combinations, you would have to look at each of the 55 base classes separately and see exactly how they implement the subclass structure on top of that. It will be interesting to see how it turns out in the end.
  12. to find the number of total subclasses, isn't it just a composition of combinations? we have the original 11 choose 2 = 55. then compose 55 choose 2 to get 1485 total. enter this into google for example: (11 choose 2) choose 2
  13. I'd like a fully 3d world that plays somewhat like Skyrim, but is much much deeper in terms of character builds and combat mechanics. I'd like it to contain all of Eora, and contain a multitude of quests, and depending on where you start in the world, your "main story" could be radically different as your choices affect the world and its history.
  14. how about we let Obsidian create some new IP? member when there really were no sequels in games (except for Japanese games)
  15. I actually prefer the illustrations. Would be nice to have full blown color illustrations though.
  16. Just came across this book again in POE, and the description of these monsters leads me to believe there will be large scale battles similar to dragons, but this time with sea creatures. Examples: 1. Barbed Ravager - giant shark, 30 feet long (Jaws was about that long) - rams ships 2. Winding Serpent - smaller than the ravager, but can be longer, like a barracuda - also rams ships 3. Leviathan - 10 times the size of the largest whale you have seen - large enough to consume a ship whole (will we be pulled inside one?) 4. Polpovir - human sized octopus men that have tentacles for legs and can walk on land All in all, very interesting creatures, and looking forward to how these are implemented (if they are).
  17. sticking with tradition on everything really doesn't make sense, especially since they aren't tied to any specific roleplaying system - Obsidian is creating their own.
