  1. Me thinks I've been overlooked. As I said earlier, I can make any day except possibly the occasional Sunday.
  2. I think you might have misunderstood. I was replying to your statement that you can't do the Thieves Guild quests without getting thrown out of the Fighters' Guild. What I meant is that so long as a quest for another guild is not active (i.e. you haven't accepted it yet/in between quests) then any theft will not result in your being expelled. I ran into the same thing with both the Mages Guild/Thieves Guild and Thieves Guild/Dark Brotherhood.
  3. Kaftan, I had the same problem with the Mage's Guild. What I discovered is that it only occurs if you have a quest from another guild active while attempting the Thieves Guild missions. So long as its just one or the other you're fine.
  4. Havent had the internets in a few days, but as always Im interested. Pretty much any day except Sunday is good for me. Have we decided what system we're using yet?
  5. I named my custom class the same thing. Im not at my comp right now, so I dont remember the details, but I thought the coincidence amusing.
  6. Is it a missing painting or a missing painter? If the latter, I seem to recall something about a painter being stuck inside his painting.
  7. Rumor defeated days ago. Didn't you hear the CEO of Voodoo started it? Probably wanted to drive business away from Alienware through the Dell stigma.
  8. Perhaps Blank, if you had mentioned this paper to be about 1984 before the last post of the first page, people would have been more helpful.
  9. Bethesda was just the publisher. Ive played this game and while there are some problems with the gameplay, the atmosphere and sanity system are great. You really get the feeling of Lovecraft. It stays pretty true to the Cthulhu mythos, taking place in Innsmouth and the occasional segment in Arkham.
  10. Actually, Einstein says it is impossible to accelerate an object to light speed as its mass would become infinite. His work says nothing of particles already traveling faster than c, i.e. tachyons.
  11. Non-evil drow are like Satan from South Park. A gay non-sequiter.
  12. Providing I have access to the setting, Im in.
  13. {o,o} |)__) -"-"- O RLY? Behold! For the owl has been reborn!
  14. I've been saying this for months, but personally the main problem I see with both KOTOR games (setting aside all technical or implementation problems) is that both MC's start out as Jedi. Yes Revan lost his memory but that doesnt really count. In the Star Wars universe, Jedi are the ultimate power, far above and beyond anyone else ultimately. Therefore, since the MC is already a Jedi, the only path for character improvement is Ultra, Super God-Jedi (!!!), leading to the power problems noted by many on these fora. Alternatively, I suggest one of two directions. I. The character is a latent force sensitive who as a child has to compete in some sort of task to be accepted as a Jedi Padawan. Could also serve as a tutorial. Following this, the game diverges into two paths: you either pass or fail. In the first, you play a series of small vignettes of Jedi training, giving the impression of the passage of time and acquiring of knowledge through the aging etc of your character model. Also gives a more indepth understanding of force/light saber rules for game. In the second, I see several possible models. A. You join a different force tradition. B. You are discovered by a Sith, attracted by your hate and anger towards the Jedi. C. You somehow infiltrate the Jedi organization and pretend to be an apprentice 1. Eliminate one of successful Padawans and assume identity. 2. Have a parent bribe someone. II. The character begins as a member of another force tradition, preferably one having some sort of philosophical disagreement with the Jedi teachings. Somehow, a Jedi enters the situation and you must decide between the different philosophies. The degree to which you do so (or dont) affects the future path. Also, in this instance, an organization rating would be added, which noted your standing within certain organizations based upon your actions for them or how closely their ideas resemble your own.
  15. That is perhaps the most awesome feature ever.
  16. Quests are just as much about implementation as concept. I dont quite remember where I read it, but I saw a preview of Oblivion in the past few days describing a quest in which you enter an oil painting to search for a missing painter. The entire world inside the painting is done in oils. I thought that was fairly interesting, and while the kernel may be "retrieve the lost guy," the environment adds something to it. Dont judge the game until you actually play it.
  17. Of the ones I hadnt heard of before, those that caught my eye were the new Quantic Dreams games (Infraworld and Omikron 2), Broken Saints, Theseis, and the new Shin Megami Tensei. I also noticed Master Project (from the a concept piece) and Monster Carnival, for its artwork's resemblance to Legends of Dragoon. Finally, the description of Schwarzenberg strongly resembled Walsinham's WW2 RPG campaign idea found here.
  18. You go ahead. Im having some more computer troubles, so Ill get around to it when I can. Anyone else is free to supersede me.
  19. The article fails to mention the first Blue-Ray compatible players will cost about $1k.
  20. Unless of course religion is a major theme of the film.
  21. Yep, broken cable modem tends to do that. I'm back up so Ill take a turn this evening if no one minds.
  22. Oddly enough, I tend to have that dilemma as well.
