  1. Likewise. I talked with DL about it and she said they couldnt write their own questions, but had to use those previously formulated by licensed psychologists. Frankly, I think quite a few of the questions are misleading, derivative, or imply a supposed correct answer.
  2. Unless it is blatantly obvious, I think we usually use one or more of several smilies, these being: " ^_^ ) . Some are more popular than others.
  3. Happen to have come into contact with sarcasm lately? The " smiley shows that I am teasing and thus absolves me of any blame/responsibility.
  4. Not really. Especially considering I made an 1180 in 7th grade after having arrived back from England three hours before the test when I had severe sleep apnia leading to constant insomnia. "
  5. Yeah, my friend, the Gatekeeper - See her standing over there? - asked me to meet him for her. She's not a huge fan of blind dates.
  6. Then all is good. I would suggest greater awareness of the fact that people in general do not appreciate being told they have to be "saved" from their lifestyle.
  7. I had previously consented, and again offer my services. Although I should most likely warn you, I am also studying psychology, if that will affect or skew the experiment.
  8. <_< I had thought evangelism and religious discrimination illegal here.
  9. Partially correct. There is no official Jewish stance on Jesus, excluding the Messianic Judaism (Jews for Jesus) movement, other than that he was most definitely NOT a prophet, having failed to meet the tests listed in the Torah. Some believe he existed and some do not. Those who do often think he was a devout Jew born in Bethlehem, raised in Galilee, and killed in Jerusalem by the Romans for his nationalistic/religious commentary. In this view, following the lead of many modern historians, some Jews believe that Jesus was a preacher with an apocalyptic message, that Jesus never claimed to be God or part of a trinity, and that he was a liberal reformer, in many ways more similar to the Pharisees than to Jews of the other movements at the time. Christianity as we know it today had nothing to do with Jesus' actual teachings, but rather was the outgrowth of the beliefs of Jesus' later non-Jewish converts, and the preaching of Paul. Most consider Jesus simply irrelevant, a non-important figure in a different religion (much as Muhammad might seem to many Christians), known due to their being immersed in a Christian-oriented society rather than through religious significance. Jews also do not believe anyone can "die" as a "repentance" for anyone else, nor that God would have a "son", nor has the concept of "original sin" ever been part of Judaic belief or philosophy. As a religion, Judaism is far more focused on the practicalities of understanding how one may live a sacred life in this world according to God's will, rather than hope of spiritual salvation in a future one. Jews do not believe in the Christian concept of Hell, nor that only those following one specific faith can be "saved". Jews as a whole do not evangelise, and view their divine purpose as being ideally a "role model to the nations" and a "holy people" (ie, a people who live their lives fully in accordance with Divine will), rather than "the one path to God".
  10. I can *perhaps* understand saying like too much, but to actually type it out? You introduce a new level of idiocy. -10 Influence Points
  11. impeach: To charge (a public official) with improper conduct in office before a proper tribunal, usually towards the effort of removing them from office.
  12. Have the rules at least been finalized so that we may inspect them before playing?
  13. I admit that I failed as a GM, despite any personal issues that may have contributed. However, I would still like to play. Any chance this game will be revived?
  14. I still support the idea of an unaffiliated force adept PC who makes his way into the greater galaxy. Doesnt ever force you to be evil, as a Sith background might. Even if you dont play the character as evil, at some point he/she had to commit some evil act to be accepted and sucessfully trained. Also promotes the idea of a neutral alignment as force adepts tend to be less philosophical and more animistic on the whole. Though there could be an urban adept, i suppose.
  15. Huh. Seems I was more insightful then. I wonder what happened?
  16. Well according to someone who read the article, the developer was listed as Obsidian. I do not doubt this is possible, but OE has confirmed PNJ is not a sequel, and they are also working on NWN2. A third game is possible, however, I am unsure as to whether Obsidian has grown large enough to handle three concurrent projects effectively. It seems like a guess, stemming from a sentiment of eventuality.
  17. From that list, Id definitely pick Half-Life for game-to-movie. As for movie-to-game, I am conflicted between Saw and Silence of the Lambs. I think both, if done properly, could make quite interesting suspense/thriller action-adventures.
  18. While Im all for player creativity, this is too much. There are several solutions I can see. First, try to tell him the build is illegal. If he is as much of a rules-lawyer as you previously mentioned, it might dissuade him from the char, though it is strange how often rules lawyer DMs become munchkin players. If that doesnt work, persuade the other players of how much of an advantage he would have. No one likes being second fiddle in a roleplaying game, especially as there is an unspoken understanding that you are as important in a campaign as you make yourself. If neither of these work, simply announce you are using level adjustment rules without the buyout variant presented in Unearthed Arcana. A mindflayer character is naturally LA +7 and has 8d8 HD. The half-dragon template (using the version in the MM) is LA +3. Together this adds up to LA +10 and 8d10 HD (the half-dragon template bumps the HD die up one). Thus, his character would be the equivalent of an 18th lvl character even before his first class level. Allow everyone else to create characters normally at 18 or 19th if you want him to have a single class level. See how he feels about outlandish builds after that. It is usually better to use an idiot's stupidity against him than to force him to an unwelcome conclusion. If you use this final method, also force him to roleplay his character. Good or neutral mind flayers are practically non existent. His alignment and actions should reflect that. Feel free to penalize him in exp or rewards if he does not live up to this obligation.
  19. There is also the possibility for a Force Adept PC. Basically consider them jedi with a tribal/totemic slant from more primitive backgrounds who attribute their powers for the most part to spirits or gods. There are also several Jedi offshoots, from failed colony missions which could be viable, should they desire it strongly enough. I guess what Im trying to say is: If they want to include the force, theres nothing that can truly stop them.
  20. I too am Hades. We seem to have an overabundance of Lords of the Dead here. I suggest an Underworld Free-for-All! Who ever wins is the true Hades! (w00t)
  21. No!!! I got the same results as Nur. My numerical scores were different though: Arcane Trickster 22% Combativeness, 53% Sneakiness, 100% Intellect, 13% Spirituality
  22. But that brings up an obvious question: Who would want to work in Iowa? "
