I find this horrible, given that I'm technically Jewish (though unobservant) and lost family in the Russian pogroms. However, my immediate reaction is why the **** do Jews live in Iran?
-
Not really. I took an abnormal psych class last semester and wikipedia has articles for most topics.

Id have to hear more details to be sure, but it sounds similar to Pica, a developmental disorder in which a person craves and consumes non-nutritive substances.

Check out Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age.

From what I understand, no. To expand slightly on what Volourn said, each section of the "dialogue circle" (for lack of a better term) will contain an approach, such as bully, bribe, persuade, threaten, etc. However, you will not see the actual line you will say. Once you choose a path of action, the PC will speak the corresponding dialogue.

E3 News: Sony Conference later today

That was perhaps the most uninspiring thing I've never seen. Just from the comments here alone, I can tell Sony has continued their wonderful "Let's steal everything good and call it ours!!!" strategy. Bastards. I see the rip off of Nintendo's controller possibly dealing a huge blow to Wii sales. -
Actually, insanity is simply a legal term. Psychologists and psychiatrists prefer not to use it, because of the labeling effect.

If USA & Canada gave the land back to the Indians-
Archmonarch replied to Eddo36's topic in Way Off-Topic
First of all, it would never happen. Second, being that it is a hypothetical, I think the best they could do is that all immigrants get sent home, but those who were born here (US or Canada) get to stay. And if the Natives complain that except for the invasion several hundred years ago, you wouldn't have been born here, you respond that the same is true of them for the migration from Asia a few thousand years ago. Their prior claim does not negate the right of people to live where they were born. -
Just one question, Gromnir: Do you maintain the half-orc persona while DMing? I can see that being an obstacle to communication. "

There've actually been several interviews lately. The biggest news is that the PC will be fully voiced. -

It should. That movie is based off a Lovecraft book too. Actually, Dagon -

Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth

If you dont mind a little help, there are a few things you can do before going to sleep to make thing easier. First, bolt the door in the room next to yours and then do the same in your bedroom. Take notice of the bookshelf, but it cant be moved yet. Go to sleep. When the fishpeople attack, run into the next room and bolt it behind you. Keep following this principle (bolting doors and moving bookcases) to obstruct their path and open yours until you get to a room with a window. Go through the window and jump to the balcony across the way. Go through the door here and push the clock in front of it. Keep going, grabbing any items you can, until you get to a room with a fire escape. The fishmen arent chasing you here, so take your time in lining up the jump to the fire escape. It can be fairly hard. Once you get across, you will be chased again. Climb up the ladders and cross some planks until you find an open skylight on the roof. Jump down and after some crawling you'll reach a save point. Make sure to crawl on the roofs and in other relevant places so you're harder to shoot and find. Good luck. Most people end up dying a few times there. -
To get back to the JE comparison, despite what Volourn may believe in his deluded little world, Jade Empire was definitely less than 20 hours. With completing every sidequest eligible for my alignment, beating every level of the flying minigame, and beating the game, I clocked in at around 18 hours. And no I didnt use Iron Golem style. While I consider that ultimately too short, that wasnt the main problem with the game. The plot was formulaic, too heavily foreshadowed, and easily predictable. The characters were stock cliches: the insane inventor, the reformed bad guy with a regretted past, the good guy who turns out to be evil, the spoiled princess that wants more, etc. Combat was simplistic and there was not enough differences between various styles to make a point in switching. The only terrific thing about the game was the setting. I like Bioware overall, but felt they really dropped the ball on this one. My point in all this is that while I hope the length estimation of 20 hrs for NWN2 is a mistake or maybe covers only the main quest, unless the rest of the content is there, the length is really only a minor point. I trust Obsidian to deliver that, and that trust may end up being misplaced. But none of us will know until the game is released. Try waiting until you get the finished product in front of you before bashing it.

Another question: I know you said PHB classes only, but what about variants of those classes? Ex: Paladin of Freedom, the various Monk Schools, etc.

Im good Friday or Saturday, so put me down for whatever.

Hopefully this will include channel and serve information for IRC?

Any more specific limitations on character creation, Eldar? i.e are we limited to just PHB races, classes, feats? Or can we think outside the box? Are there any setting specific criteria? What pointbuy value should we use? I have two big projects due Thursday, so I think a pnp session is exactly what I'll need to cool down on Friday. Have we decided on a time yet? Also, I am in accord with Baley. Exotic is always good.
