  1. This is the new MP-focused space RTS, right? While it looks good, I'm a little worried that the SP may suffer.
  2. From what I understand, a lot of information has been released about the game in the official forums which never made its way into the few press releases, interviews, or previews. I would guess the support stems from a combination of this and the undeniable (though not necessarily justified) force of the fanatical Bio fanbase.
  3. Its not that the power suspends you at whatever age you are, per se. Instead, cellular regeneration repairs any of the physical, cellular, and genetic damage we call aging.
  4. I'm having a similar issue with the first Qara/Jocris encounter outside the Flagon. I've had to have gone in and out of that damn tavern at least 30 times attempting to get the scene. Is there some way to trigger it manually?
  5. Anyone else having problems with the camera after installing the patch/MOTB? I can't seem to get it to rotate, even in free camera mode.
  6. He does not, nor any other member of the Nakamura clan except Hiro, possess an ability. Remember from late in season 1 where Hiro finally confronts his dad who tells him that they have been waiting for one of the family to develop an ability? This leads me to believe that some member of the family developed the space-time control ability in the past and the Nakamuras have been waiting for it appear again. Sort of a messiah reborn thing. Also, ugh, did they have to play the card with Peter? Come on, hire some bloody writers.
  7. That is my plan as well. But anyway, beware whiny bitches in: The Return of Carth (as Kaidan)! If you don't get that, the voice actor for Carth in KOTOR (Raphael Sbarge) is returning to voice another main NPC in Mass Effect named Kaidan.
  8. Flitting between Bioshock, NWN2 (before MOTB comes out) and the Gabriel Knight Saga in between classes and work.
  9. I believe you're thinking of Erzsebet Bathory, also known as the Blood Countess, the most infamous serial killer in Hungarian history. As to the topic, I also enjoy injecting historical facts or situations into storylines, though I do so more in a literary format. At the moment, I'm trying to adapt an Alternate History Ancient Greece plus surrounding civilizations into a world where the beliefs of the people (whether in terms of magic or science which were in those days entirely entangled) work as postulated with some modification.
  10. Not to belittle that situation, but what is Ann Arbor like? I'm starting at UMich this September and never had a chance to visit.
  11. I am not talking about the universe in general but our specific solar system. Since I do not know about the whole universe it would be silly to make such claims about it as a whole, so I am limiting to what I know, right here in our backyard, so to speak. Theia -The Giant Impact Hypothesis
  12. Eh, there's a pretty significant difference between 1st and 2nd degree murder. In the US, most states follow one of two patterns: 1. First Degree Murder: All premeditated murders, and (in some states) murders involving certain especially dangerous felonies, such as arson or rape, or committed by an inmate serving a life sentence. 2. Second Degree Murder: Non pre-meditated killing. 3. Third Degree Murder: Any other murder. OR 1. First Degree Murder: Murder involving special circumstances, such as murder of a police officer, judge, fireman or witness to a crime; multiple murders; and torture or especially heinous murders. Note that a "regular" premeditated murder, absent such special cirumstances, is not a first-degree murder; murders by poison or "lying in wait" are not per se first-degree murders. First degree murder is pre-meditated. 2. Second Degree Murder: Any premeditated murder or felony murder that does not involve special circumstances. To simply consolidate all cases of homicide into one category, without consideration for extenuating circumstances, is merely a step closer to a new Draconian legal system even more ripe for abuse than our current judiciary. However, in this particular case, such a discussion is merely tangential. Though I do not approve of the death penalty (its finality being utterly irrevocable), I do believe such individuals deserve at least a life sentence. I am concerned though by the financial burden such imprisonment places upon the general populace. Thus, I look forward to the days of simulated reality when it would be possible to simply stack prisoners in automated care units and insert them into a computer-generated noosphere. Less expense, less cost, and the same result ultimately.
  13. Volo's 'secret source' is actually some guy that emailed the ESRB and then posted their response on the ME forums. Here's the actual statement:
  14. I think $6k each. Explain that to me. If, as stated in the article, CBS had the set legally declared as a summer camp through a loophole, then I imagine the most they could do is waive the camp fees. Perhaps there were some under the table payoffs, but a summer camp does not pay kids to attend.
  15. From what I've read on comments following a walkthrough, this seems to be a promotion for an upcoming post-apoc pnp game called Alpha Omega. It is believed the timing and style is designed to build off the hype associated with J.J. Abrams's upcoming monster movie, known as 1-18-08.
  16. You see, if someone else had posted that it would have been entirely ironic. But as you did it, I am merely obligated to mention, that though I too have doubts about the conversation system in ME, the options are merely summaries of the spoken lines and thus far the critics seem to like it.
  17. According to an article at Gamespot, Konami is apparently underwhelmed by the recent PS3 pricecut and doubts it will have a large effect on the growth of the Sony system's user base. Thus, they are strongly considering bringing MGS4 to other systems so as to recoup their development costs. This seems even more likely considering Sony's unwillingness to shell out for exclusivity on any game.
  18. I haven't actually played in quite a while myself (waiting on TSLRP), but to streamline character creation, I've found Gamefaqs has more than adequate guides and advice.
  19. Bah, the movie is a bastardized marketing move by some executive ****ehead that decided stuffed animals = kid's tale. It was originally a masterful short story written in 1943, with a much darker outlook and strong reliance on the character of Charles Dodgson (a.k.a Lewis Caroll, author of the Alice in Wonderland stories, etc.). If you want the real thing, try to get a hold of Mimsy were the Borogoves.
  20. I'm not familiar with crime/journalism procedures in Europe, but at least here in the U.S., killers often receive nicknames based upon specific repetitive features of their crimes called signatures or M.O.'s (modus operandi). Thus, I would presume the Killer here leaves origami at the site of his murders along with the body as a sort of calling card.
  21. As with most anime, the manga is far superior.
  22. Unfortunately, its last episode all but promises a second season that is never to arrive. Otherwise, yes, Ergo Proxy is awesome on so many levels.
  23. I'm guessing that the sound effects accompanying those punches were supposed to imply Peter was using Nikki's superstrength, but still meh. I agree with everything said so far. What a weak finale. Also, as for the BBEG Molly identified in part, I sincerely hope they find a novel way to make him challenging. Having another power mimic/thief is simply unacceptable. And based upon that criteria in addition to his briefly mentioned power of being able to either detect when he is being "scryed" on or gazing back along the psychic connection, I really don't see a way to make his powers the focus, unless he ends up being someone "who can use the heroes' powers against them!" That's almost as bad as another Sylar/Peter remix. Actually, now that I think about it, except for Peter the lameass the majority of the heroes seem to depending upon their powers more and more. Perhaps it would be more interesting to have a baddy who's outclassed in terms of powers, but makes up for it with sheer ingenuity and nastiness. But I have little hope events will take that direction.
