It turns out that if you put phrases in your chants and then respec and don't pick those phrases again you can still use them ! As long as you don't remove them from your chant. So you make a chant with the all the phrases and then "sculpt" a custom chant from the original chant. This way I avoided picking any phrases at all.3 points

Whoa, whoa, whoa, hold on a second here... While I probably only fully understand uuuhhii like half of the time (because the consistently flat writing style usually makes it difficult to confidently parse/guess tone and emphasis, which often leads to less than perfectly clear intent and meaning), I can't say that I've ever wanted to hit them a rusty iron rod after finishing reading one of their posts. That's a pretty important distinction that I don't think anyone should forget. They're totally different styles of incomprehensibility anyways.3 points

Hi! I tried a little new idea: combining Skald, Blightheart and Ancient into a death & decay-themed build. The core mechanics are: using Wicked Briars etc. to "accidentially" kill weak summons such as Ancient Brittle Bones and later Many Lives Pass By (Venombloom doesn't work bc. skeleton are immune to poison) Blightheart grants +1 phrases per such kill (and killed enemies, too of course) use those phrases to cast White Worms (and later the upgrade Putrid Stench) which only costs 2 phrases, has a huge AoE and does incredible base damage only drawback: White Worms needs a fresh corpse for every cast. But here comes the fun part: Many Lives Skeletons actually leave a body when they die. This body can be used for White Worms (and other things such as Garden of Life). The Skald's 6-sec gap between each skeleton is enough to provide sufficient phrases for spamming White Worms constantly, killing enemies very quickly (and being able to use their bodies then, too) I tried it out with a "consoled" character in SSS: it works remarkably well. Being able to nearly always use White Worms "on demand" is a gamechanger imo. The build is also very versatile, being a Theurge and so on. Besides the core mechanics/spells you can pick whatever spells/ invocations sound great and fitting. In general special gear besides Blightheart does not matter much, which lets you "dress up" more freely to match the theme. I used the Horns of the Bleak Mother because it looks cool and fits this build because of the Pwgra story attached to it. But the White Void helmet would be better because it gives the White Worms Upgrade (Putrid Stench) +10 ACC (because there's sicken attached to it) and of course it's great for Venombloom etc., too. Nature Godlike or Death Godlike would be fitting as well I think. But what do you think?2 points

(comedy, not news) dunkey has all the random game news for 2025, confirmed. ..."game news" channel "news" is pretty much like this, now, tho. ...oh, and swords are in. Haha.2 points

Yeah well. It's a Herald. Edit: briefly forgot it was a solo Herald. Here are some things that you can do to improve damage output: Lose the large shield. Or better: make a weapon setup with a small shield. -8 accuracy is a bad drawback for damage output. I'm sure with your regeneration capabilities you can do with a small shield, too in many situaltions. If you want to stay astanjy as possible all the time you will have to accept that your damage output is less important than your survivability and that you simply have to outlast your enemy. You can use Brand Enemy, put it on every enemy (auto hit, fast cast, no recovery). The damage bonus of Sworn Enemy also works with everything. It's Zeal well spend imo since the DoT will last until the fight is over. It obviously doesn't work on fire-immune enemies. It even heals fire Naga and Dorudugan. So in that cases don't use it. Besides those situations it's a great smash tool for somebody who needs to outlast enemies (and has low DEX). Increase DEX with items and consumables. DEX is the most impactful dps attribute in the long run. Use Eternal Devotion every once in a while. The +15% lash applies to almost everything (except damage over time ticks), including invocations such as Her Revenge but also Sacred Immolation. With more DEX and high INT even Inspired Beacon's +40% dmg can be useful. But I personally would spend the Zeal on External Devotion and Brand Enemy. It's a waste of Zeal if you are solo imo. Use Sacred Immolation. With Sacred Immolation usually a Herald's damage output will go through the roof compared to before. With your high RES and some "-x secs/-y% hostile effect duration" items which are great if you are solo you can make it so that the annoying self damage part runs out a whole lot sooner than the fire aura itself. Prepare a chant with Come Soft Winds + Dragon Thrashed. As soon as you feel that healing isn't needed as much: switch to that chant without(!) Brisk Recitation. Check if the enemies suffer from both DoT effects after both phrases have passed. If the enemy have both, switch on Brisk Recitation. You will have a lot faster phrase generation, but the hostile effects on the enemies will get refreshed enough every 6 secs that it won't run out. You will deal chant damage as if Brisk Recitation was still off, but you'll have the benefit of faster phrase generation. Come Soft Winds Wil heal you a bit, too. You can add Blackened Plate (Death in Life) for a little more raw DoT. But I suspect you might be inclined to use the healing enchantment instead. If you want to add even more DoT damage to your chants and other actions: pick up the Great Sword Effort and enchant it with "Hemorrhaging". You don't need to skill anything for the great sword, it's just a tool for chanting/casting. Pick up Hylea's Talons (Gloves). The Hemorrhaging attack (hobble/sicken on crot) gets triggered by offensive chants and invocations as well (if they crit). The hobble/sicken attack of Hemorrhaging counts as a weapon attack so it will trigger Hylea's Talons potent DoT on enemies (but on you, too unfortunately). Make sure to out heal the gloves' damage. If you combine Dragon Thrashed, Come Soft Winds, Blackened Plate and Effort+Gloves you can already melt foes without actually doing anything. Add Brand Enemy, Her Revenge + Eternal Devotion and later Sacred Immolation and you should be a terrifying damage dealer without even striking much, so the low DEX doesn't matter much. The good thing is: you can switch from healing/tanking mode (weapon + shield + healing chants) into damage dealing mode (Effort + Gloves + damaging chants, Sacred Immolation etc.) in an instant. And switch back if needed. This adds a lot of versatility. And versatility is always good. For example if you can place yourself into a corner or choke point you might be able to switch to the offensive mode. Or if you have Animated Weapons out which should be able to tank for you for a little while.2 points

So I like to play a tank chanter that just sits and everything burns around him. But I noticed that he would die sometimes. I wanted a character that was invulnerable and at the same a very efficient AoE damage dealer without relying on any per rest abilities or consumables. The Executioner Difficulty: Normal Solo:Yes(intended) Class: Chanter Background: Rauatai/Drifter Race: Wild Orlan(for defiant resolve and head slot) Starting stats: might: 18 con:18 Dex:3 Int:18 Res: 9 Skills: Stealth and mechanics early game. Than stealth(to reduce tedium) and survival(+15 accuracy) Early game use the phantom summon and stealth and beetle summon for safety as well as the blunting belt. This build shines with stronghold adventures on so hire a companion to do the quests. Basically the head slot is the executioners hood. The fear enchantment gives you effective +10 defense. The dazed gauntlets do the same again while reducing enemy attack speed. As a chanter tank you should be getting hit all the time. Cloak of comforts defense bonus stacks with ring of protection/deflection and its armor bonus compensates for the blunting belt and ryonas low armor rating. You can use lavender wreath to eat mind grubs without getting sick. The head slot was missing preservation from garodhs chorus so I used malinas boots(which also gives move speed bonus for faster map cleanup). This combined with the little savior will make you invulnerable during stun and prone. I didn't use consecrated ground because it was triggering rarely because of high defenses. Talents: All the defensive ones + beloved memories Phrases: dragon trashed. It stacks with itself so just keep using it. You can also use her courage thick as steel. That's it. With this build you can face tank llengrath and just gather enemies into giant crowds and light them on fire because you will just outheal whatever damage you get thanks to beloved spirits.1 point

I mean you just sit tight I guess. And let the dragon chant/summon do their thing. Before little savior you can buy redfield from larha in old song for the harbinger passive which gives an extra effective +3 melee defense.1 point

It is now 12/29/24. Six. Long. Years. The issue persists See ya in 2030!1 point

btw: one problem of the upgraded White Worms is that you can sometimes "miss" the corpse. It seems that White Worms does a hidden hit roll against the corpse's reflex defense (don't ask me why a corpse has any reflex at all, not interested in that discussion ;)). And sometimes this results in a situation where you cast the spell and... nothing happens at all. Fortunately the many-lives skeletons have truly abysmal reflex - so you won't miss their bones.1 point

The brand is "celestaura" I think (you can see a tiny link under the main header). Although I cant find a homepage for them.1 point

^ I used windows crap mem-test just to get an idea what I wanted to try first. I know there's supposedly better memory test programs but these days most such programs seem to be mostly bloat/spyware of some sort, even if old versions used to be great. eg, I don't tend to download/use such. Almost every single program/company that made the program I used to like has become something I would never want to install on my PC so I just don't bother anymore. In the end if it's the mobo, can't do much about that/I'd see no point trying to "fix" that aspect, and I'd just build a new PC entire. If ram or psu replacement makes it go away, great/ideal. If it doesn't ... oh well. In my life situation, I'm not too fussed. Just would mean I won't be playing games too often for a few months or something. I'd certainly prefer it to be a simple ram fix tho, ofc.1 point

The best item to duplicate for two druids: Wildstrike Belt. Best weapon to duplicate for two druids: Gyrd Háewanes Sténes (maybe AFTER full upgrades ) - druids do the best with spiritshifts and spells, their weapons damage is negligible, best weapon is the one which give you one more spiritshift. Best armor for a druid-casting-quicker: Angio's Gambeson with DAoM, or Helmsman's Uniform and the other uniforms from deadfire pack. Also Starlit Garb and Gwisk Glas are good: no need to use Helwax Mold here.1 point

This is crazy! I have been getting back into the game in preparation for Avowed. For the last several months I have been trying to make this EXACT idea work. Thank you for this! I absolutely LOVE blightheart and really wish it would work with paladin (bleakwalker) and Ancient druid as those are probably my favorite classes.1 point

@Bartimaeus I would guess the main reason for that (gaming news channels) is a "gaming news" channel can't really survive on a few videos made a month, waiting for actual news. Daily or every other day videos "required". Hence having to find a reason, any reason, to blabber about something in constant new uploads. Algorithm - all those hidden factors that are seemingly much more important than simply channel sub numbers now - and all that. Thus they have all become TMZ or whatever, styled reporting. imo they should stop pleading for viewers to subscribe. I don't think that really does jack anymore - at least not without high numbers in all the other algorithm factors. YT "knows" most people sub and then never return to view the channel again.1 point

Nvidia has to charge the prices that it charges...because they keep selling out at those prices. Usually the only way to even get your hands on new and actually good computer hardware releases within a reasonable timeframe (i.e. within the first month or two) these days is by going in person to a Microcenter, because all the normal online options are usually sold out and scalped out the wazoo. The 9800X3D is still not available even two months later after release, and who knows when that will change?1 point

This is the one I purchased: Amazon.com: Smart Ring Health Tracker, Sleep Tracker Ring with Heart Rate, Waterproof Fitness Ring for Activity Monitoring/Steps/Distance/Calories, Air Gestures, Up to 7-Day Battery, for iOS Android (Black,#12) : Sports & Outdoors You do have to download a janky Chinese app thats probably already hijacked all of my credentials, but this one doesnt require a paid subscription, which is a dealbreaker for me. Then it just works by Bluetooth so you dont need a persistent internet/data connection. It cant do temperature or glucose measurements either. Ive read that ~Y2026 Apple will release a smart ring that also includes NFC and will link to your Apple wallet. This is of especial interest to me since I already use my phones NFC to make payments, it would be even more convenient to just wave my ring at it.1 point

And what = faster? lower CL number? Higher? I see mostly CL18 and CL16 listed on the ddr4 Corsair Vengeance line (my original/previous ram is supposedly CL 16)? Edit: that's what I ordered. I could still cancel it tho. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZPLM1R1 EditEdit: I need/want no-RGB and low profile Edit: google one chart saying 3200/16 and 3600/18 is the same. Gazzilionth edit: meh, canceled and got the 3600/CL16 for $10 more. Whatever.1 point

Might have been those, the place I bought mine from folded into another company and axed their website so I can't check the reciept I honestly might be misremembering the colour temperature, maybe it was 5000k, though I remember differently1 point

I don't remember the exact name of 'em since I've had them since 2018 or so, but I know they're Osrams. My sister is out with the car at the moment, so I can't check if I still have the box they came with but they were not cheap, I think I paid 40€ for the pair. From just a 60 second google looksee it might be "nightbreakers" Edit; No, wait, I paid 40€ per bulb, so 80€1 point

Halogens with a higher colour temperature are pretty nice, and as an added bonus doesn't have other motorists want to stab your eyes out with an icepick, and doesn't need to be replaced for inspection I've got 6000k lights in mine, and they're pretty great1 point

You might like Apple, one of the characters. Everything else... uhm... tough sell. Pretty sure @PK htiw klaw eriF would love it, if he hasn't watched it already. Edit: might as well link the trailer (pretty sure I've done that before).1 point

I was laughing about this joke about uuuhhi because its funny when I have been accused of being an alt-account its been with people that I have very little in common around our posts So I was sometimes accused of being Obys alt-account Oby was someone who I dont think I ever agreed on one thing he ever raised and thats unusual. I would hope my alt-account had somethings in common with me I do agree on uuuhhii on certain things and I do read his posts and he raises issues that are a concern1 point

It is thematic and match very well with the Charm of Bones, for the AoE size of Putrid Stench and the Wicked Briar attacks vs skellies.1 point

The most powerful set for Tekehu is, in my opinion, SC Stormspeaker Of course there is many way to build him without the inconvenient to be overpowered, and druid / chanter doesnt require a lot of micro-mangement to be efficient, but Tekehu is the only one to have access to The Ranga and, in this sens, is really interesting. So this is a overvitamined version of this particularity exploited in this topic.1 point

Testosterone 100% gives a benefit, for most sports. It's a scientific fact and the reason why there are limits. There's a lot more moral grey area for it than for synthetics though, since it is a natural product and like most natural products is produced naturally at a range of levels rather than one consistent one per sex. So nobody with any sense thinks Imane Khalif or Caster Semenya are 'cheats' for having high testosterone levels, since it's clearly natural for them and whatever the tests say they've clearly always identified as being female. The issue is pretty much exactly as I said before: when you try to apply scientific principles to humans you run into the 'problem' that humans aren't lab mice but are people, and that scientific tests tend to run to true/ false results. If you determine the natural testosterone levels for lab mice sexes and make your standard cut off at 3sd nobody cares about the 5% that are 'abnormal'. You have to do scientific tests to work out if people are cheating- too much EPO, too much testosterone, stimulants etc- which pretty much everyone agree has to be done, and they have semi arbitrary levels below which you're fine, and above which you're not. Science by definition runs on facts not feelings so if you have to define a woman and a man for sporting events scientifically and testably then some people are going to be very very upset- and justifiably so in the vast majority of cases- at being told they're the wrong sex or have to take medication to compete, because of some arbitrary result. You do have to have that arbitrary test though, so long as you want to have men and women competing separately.1 point

Imo the best "power gamer" option is to go single class Druid. This way Tekehu just gets the best selection of spells, including the foe-only bonus spells he gets on level-up and also Great Maelstrom (which is incredibly powerful). The most potent item choice (from Power Level 8 on, but it's aöso great before PL8) is to use the Great Sword Effort, enchant it with "Hemorrhaging" and use it to attach Avenging Storm procs to all your spell crits. Here is an encouter where I cast only Tangelfood + Avenging Storm: And here I cast Avenging Storm + Great Maelstrom: If you want a detailed explanation why/how this works you can read it here: Another good option is to use Lord Darryn's Voulge as a "casting stick". It gives you nice power level bonuses to all storm spells.1 point

Yes, you can be kind of rude to him/trick him. The quest will be solved nonetheless and the quest item dagger turns into an equippable one. But you can also solve the quest normally (giving Gordy the dagger, quest successfully finished) and then kill Gordy afterwards (no reputation loss whatsoever) and loot the dagger - aka "Whoops, that was an accident! But now that the dagger lies there I might as well take it..." - this is the "murderhobo solution" that usually works. But you have to give the dagger to Gory first and then (without reloading or leaving the map) kill him right afterwards.1 point
