  1. I somehow sank over 500 hours into Kenshi without noticing it, because it's emergent stories are so, so to my liking and I think I only explored, like, half a map yet. What mods I recommend would be "Less foliage and rocks" and some texture compression mod, because Kenshi is not exactly optimized, SCAR's pathfinding, Let's Talk (because by default everyone only says something once and game gets too quiet). I also use and love Map Borders mod, one that makes your base gates bit sturdier, one that scatters about more potential recruits and one that allows for really big parties plus a bugfix or two.

  2. I haven't seen much with David Spader (with the major exception, of course, being his short appearance(?) in Yuppie Psycho), and I know very little about the Blacklist because I'd only ever seen a little of it, so this is only tangentially related...but that's the reason why I think American cartoons can work despite the fact that they usually have no real story: if you like the characters and all the other elements (humor, art, timing, pacing...) surrounding them, then the plot and situation of each episode and the overall story doesn't really matter that much, you'll have a good time. Now having a great story would make it even better, but...having a bad story that doesn't work to the characters' strengths can instead make it all fall apart instead. I know you never had any liking or respect for this in American cartoons, but I do think the format can work given everything else being right.

  3. Update (spoiler alert) I sailed to that area today. At first, my ship flew my original flag and passed by the target ship with no conflict occurred. The target ship sailed away slowly and leisurely like they cared nothing about me. But after I put up a flag of the Vailian Trading Company and approached them again from behind, they suddenly turned towards me and sailed to me in a noticeably faster speed. And then the battle began. So that proved they were the one causing troubles to the Vailian Trading Company's survey ships. By the way, after defeating the target, if you haven't taken the quest and returned to the bounty hunter fixer, you would see the original dialog option for taking the quest and the second one for directly notifying her of the completion, as the attached figure shows. In that case, you would only get money and no exp if you choose the second dialog option. You need to choose the first dialog option first in order to get both money and exp. Last but not least, I would like to give the devs a thumb up on this detailed design of NPC having different reactions based on what flag you fly on your ship.

  4. I currently have status as a "permanent resident". As close to a citizen as you get without being able to vote. Once a citizen, you are required by law to vote and will get fined if you fail to vote As for perks, I guess not having to apply for a returning resident visa every 5 years if I wish to go overseas and also be able to go back? Also, I can travel freely to New Zealand and back again, as they have a kind of agreement involving free travel for each others citizens. For everything else like tax, superannuation, retirement, health coverage etc. I am no different than a citizen at the moment. It just sort of felt like "the right thing to do" though, considering I first arrived here in 2006 and have spent the majority of my time here since edit: I thought about it about 10 years ago, but at the time, Denmark did not allow dual citizenship. This changed 7-8 years ago, at which point I started seriously considering the possibility of becoming a citizen. Only catch then was I had spent 2 years in Europe and in order to qualify, I had to have spent the last 4 years in Australia. So i made a mark in the calendar for which year I could start the citizenship process.

  5. 30th of September dammit! edit: too focused on the fine print I guess, didn't pay enough attention to the oversized, bold faced headline in the letter

  6. Got my invitation to the citizenship ceremony. Unless something really bad happens, I'm likely to become an Australian citizen on the last day this month (Monday 31st of September). I better remember to treat myself to a glass of my special Cognac that day (which means I'll have dual citizenship, Danish/Australian)

  7. Swiss Army Man (2016). Somehow, the Daniels (of Everything Everywhere All at Once) manage to tie together the funny, thoughtful, and face-palmingly absurd for me once again, against all the built-in biases I had against this going into it. With Harry freaking Potter himself starring as the film's inanimate-ish corpse. I don't even know, dude.

  11. The Outer Worlds So at this point I decided what to do with Rockwell. Considering the increasing body count of the party (how many random guards and pirates, not to mention the wildlife, were dead because they were at the wrong place at the wrong time), the party could be quite desensitised to violence. And there were no negative consequences, mechanically or narratively, for it. Quite the opposite, in fact, - loot and XP. I like the environmental storytelling, though, I would like the companions to comment on it. That's a quite direct explanation of the just-world fallacy. He had some sense. Got a fancy hat. The ability to kill NPCs at will without loudly announcing it is greatly appreciated. I was trying to avoid harming the sprats. One somehow got into the elevator, so I reloaded. It would be great to be able to avoid accidental combat more easily and have more feedback for choosing not to murder random lizards.

  12. The last couple minutes or so, was basically how my 14y.o self+friends sounded during end of landline phone convos. Except a much more polite, calm, and robotic version.

  13. The Outer Worlds It would probably look nicer with better lighting, but still. I am happy to share that the cow and the human survived my visit. Also now one of the companions looks like a candy or a pride flag (the armour was possible to pickpocket without killing the hostile NPC). A different set, but the colour scheme the same as for the other Rizzo's set. The story acknowledges the level architecture. Somehow, Sanjar is one of the most likeable NPCs.

  15. Soulstice Some combat screenshots. Though, they were taken at the end of encounters. There were some environmental hazards and quite a few large/teleporting/summoning foes. I don't think that it could take more. End-game spoilers (gore).

  18. Hi, I thought of sharing my findings in case it is helpful to anyone in the future. Thanks to this old post which was golden. Based on my tests: All you need is starting a melee attack against an enemy to permanently add it to the list of threatened targets, without needing to complete it. So you can quickly start & stop an attack against each enemy, or just complete attacks vs various enemies over time, and you'll permanently get the -5% for each. If you have engagement slot(s), an enemy is added when the green arrow moves to it, which sometimes lags behind the attack when switching targets. Engaging an enemy will automatically add it to the list, without needing to start an attack against it. So more engagement slots help but are not mandatory, not even 1. If you are always attacking the same enemy, having several engagement slots will automatically give you -5% * N when such slots engage (assuming the enemies are not immune to engagement). If you are quickly switching targets, the more engagement slots the faster you will get all nearby enemies threatened because upon every target switch the engaged targets will automatically change. You can memorise which enemies you have already engaged or started an attack against, and spin around yourself switching your starting attack & engagements against whoever is missing. Being CC'ed (stunned, paralyzed, knocked down), switching weapons or moving will empty the list but using consumables won't. CC'ing a threatened enemy won't remove it but getting too far away will. If you become invisible, if the enemy doesn't go too far away it will remain threatened. For a solo run this could be very powerful, as you could end up being surrounded by let's say 8 enemies (-40% recovery) or induce it by using pull effects like Into The Fray, Pull Of Eora, Implosion Charge... Edit1: if without Mob Stance you have threatened so far N enemies (which you can speed up with Guardian Stance + switching attacks) and you then activate it, the -5% * N recovery is obtained instantly. It makes sense as the threatened list is unchanged. Edit2: I just realised Entonia Signet Ring's Inviolate (+2 All Def / Engaged) scales with how many enemies engage you, not how many you engage. I find Guardian Stance less mandatory now (except if I need Persistent Distraction), both have their places.

  19. Is this true also for quarterstaffs and pikes which have a greater range than others melee weapons?

  20. I cannot. I'm not a mod or Gromnir, who I haven't seen in an age and hasn't responded to or viewed any messages I've sent and I'm starting to get worried. I still tried though just in case I really was Gromnir all along but didn't know it.
