  1. Picked up a 7800XT on Cyber Monday. Well, Black Friday, but bought on Monday so I can pretend I got a super deal to reward my patience. Opening it to find the shroud wasn't broken a definite plus. It's actually smaller than the 580 that it's replacing, guess that's Strix vs Pulse more than anything. Now to put it through its paces by playing, hmm, EUIV and the Colony Ship RPG?

  2. Larian's D&D Game Wyll's facial expressions are somehow better than the custom PC's. For some reason, everyone was looking at the bard's tail during the scene, while the bard was looking mostly at the squirrels during the dialogue. This animation seems to be off, regardless of the face. And one thing that I was actually happy with - looting a quest item (which I wouldn't have found without the marker) without combat:

  3. @Gorth the remoulade looks intriguing and we might give it a go ourself. the lack o' garlic might be a deal breaker, but is worth a shot anyways. jic you wanna make your own mayo, 'cause is ez. aside, we left out 1tsp o' dijon mustard from o' our personal recipe for mayo in the linked post. am actual most intrigued by the effective mirepoix o' onion, carrot and cabbage in your remoulade recipe. celery is... aggressive. we like celery. unfortunate, traditional mirepoix often results in too much celery flavour. reduce celery is always an option, but am curious if cabbage would work in lieu o' celery for dishes which have a mild flavour profile. 'course the sulfides in cabbage is also a potential hurdle. regardless, am likely to experiment with cabbage as a celery substitute in mirepoix thanks to your remoulade queries. so, thanks. HA! Good Fun!

  8. @kanisatha@HoonDing Thank you. To stay on the topic of gaming, installed The Outer Worlds. The DLC files seem to be included in the base download on GOG (14 pieces of 4GB and the DLCs are 6MB each; I would say that the storage space required is high, but it is 2 times lower than Larian's D&D game). The EGS saves seem compatible, so I probably will continue to the DLC from them. The game conveniently created a hard point of no-return save file.

  9. I seem to have developed this weird, almost obsession like craving for Danish remoulade... no, I'm not pregnant A couple of importers offers it for sale in Australia. At a 200-500% markup So, I did a bit of google search and found what looked like recipes for traditional Danish remoulade. I'll save it on my phone and do a bit of extra looking around next time I get to do some shopping. This is just for a small jar of remoulade for dipping purposes. I want a liter of it! Just kidding, but I'll buy enough to make plenty of mistakes and hopefully also leaving enough for lasting me a while. I was surprised by the turmeric, as I'm sure some of the industrial stuff I remember, used something like madras curry for colouring it bright yellow (like hi viz vest yellow) Ingredients 3 tbsp mayonnaise, (good quality) 1 tbsp sour cream (about 18%) 1 tbsp carrots, (finely chopped) 1 tbsp pointed cabbage (Murdoc cabbage) (finely chopped) (or other crisp cabbage) 1 tbsp gherkins (finely chopped) 1 tbsp chives (finely chopped) 1 tbsp lemon juice 1 tsp red onions (finely chopped) 1 tsp strong mustard 1 tsp turmeric adjust according to color preference 1/2 tsp sugar 1/2 tsp salt Pepper to taste Instructions Prepare all the vegetables. In a bowl, mix all the ingredients together. Add extra turmeric if you want a stronger color. Add extra salt and pepper to taste. Let your homemade remoulade rest in the fridge for 30 minutes before serving.

  10. Porco Rosso (1992). What is just "alright" in an English dub can sometimes turn out to be...much better in Japanese. I'd now rate this as one of the better Miyazaki films, whereas before I had been a bit disappointed with it. Even with Susan Egan voicing one of the main characters in the English, the Japanese is just...that much better for various reasons. Laputa: Castle in the Sky will be next for me at some point, as I remember the English dub was rather poor even at the time of watching it years ago and suffering greatly for it. Additionally, having now seen Future Boy Conan, I think I may well better appreciate it from that angle as well, given Laputa essentially being a spiritual remake movie of the series.

  12. people like simple. people like brevity. in 2023, too many people get their news and info single-serving sized and then think they is educated on issues. we like honest government ad, but it is single-serving fare and relying on it is gonna lead to misunderstandings in a few cases. extrapolating to apply to other situations and nations is even more dangerous. example: in the land o' the free and the home o' the brave, we fixed (HA!) honest ad "sum up" problems two and three way back in 2009. heck, the US mostly addressed honest ad spending concerns back in 1976 with another case, buckley v. valeo. while citizens united deserved gets much attention, buckley is where our campaign finance issues exploded. yeah, 'cause there weren't much money involved in being an elected official pre 1976, only wealthy old guys ran for political office and they all too frequent turned to graft to make dough while in office. opening up the political spending spigot didn't reduce corruption and we still got an old man issue... but those is tangential issues, right? *chuckle* regardless, does it look as if more money flowing into the electoral process resulted in more equitable voting outcomes for the US? take as a warning: (paraphrase) those the gods choose to destroy, to them they grant wishes. in other words, is so not the same situation for the US even if at first glance it might look and feel same. honest ad is funny and we enjoy, but they tend to oversimplify and they frequent promote questionable conclusions based on suspect evidence, which is ok 'cause they is doing for laughs and hopeful trying to get people to further educate selves. unfortunate, all too often am suspecting honest ad, daily show, fox news and other comedy news sources is ends rather than starting points for those wishing to be educated on the important issues o' the day. and yeah, we get the irony o' trying to explain the honest ad extrapolation problem with a single-serving video, but trying to combat endemic ignorance o' the electorate via a game message board is sisyphean. HA! Good Fun!

  13. I finished Jusant. It's a short game, about 6 hours, but appropriately priced. It's a super chill climbing game that's very easy on the eyes. It's not going to set the world on fire, but it was a pleasant and relaxing gaming experience.

  15. I did make and publish a mod that replaces the title screen with plain beautiful black, not to everyone's taste's perhaps, but for me I like the simplicity. The mod also renders invisible the Versus Evil startup logo and hides the news tab of the title screen. Thanks again @Kvellen for the helpful information. Here's a link to the mod if anyone wants it: Deadfire - No Logo - No News - Blank Background https://www.nexusmods.com/pillarsofeternity2/mods/724

  17. Goal nr. 10 finished November 25, 21:30 With the defeat of 6-winged Ethereal Queen, and unlocking of last character ending for Emmerson, my PS4 Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness Universe difficulty playthrough has been finished on 100% today. During my way to 100%, I had to unlock 4 ultra rare Trophies, which have been acquired by less than 1% of game owners. One for crafting all recipes, one for finding every single item, one for finding every single enemy, and one for fulfilling the prerequisites for all of the in-game Battle Trophies. The hardest Trophy, as always, was the Battle Trophy one, as it included the infamous one for 1 million hits. To get this one, I had to spent more than 30 hours fighting against Bloodbane over and over, but I left the last hit for this Trophy for the EQ fight :) . The game got a lot of bashing when it was released, mostly due to the Fiore’s dress, but IMHO, it was one of the best JRPGs released in 2016, as it stayed faithful to its Japanese roots without trying to appease western Skyrim audience unlike FFXV.

  18. Hi all, It's been a while since there has been no discussion on this topic, and the activity on the forum as a whole has been reduced a lot for a few months. I don't know if it is related to BG3 release (not playing myself, not enough time to launch myself into something as new as freaking real 3D) or just the semi-old age of the game in general. I think the mod has been stable for long enough to consider it complete and to take the time to thank everybody involved for this experience. I'm not completely quitting the mod (I would correct any critical issue) or even the forum but I just wanted to say goodbye and thank you before there is no one left here. Cheers to everyone who participated on this mod (it was my first mod ever), on this thread, on this forum or even on PoE1 forum ! My first thoughts go to @Noqn who made some of the changes for the mod, resident @Boeroer for all his advices even he was not a direct user (I presume) and @thelee for his Faq and general expertise. And for all the ones who "liked" the release post of the new versions, it always help keeping oneself motivated ! It's been a major hobby for a couple of years of my life, and I enjoyed a lot the community here !

  19. There are so many hard coded keybinds, many of which are falsely advertised as being changeable, that as a US-ESDF player it's just plain miserable. My sympathies for AZERTY crowd. I tried removing/remapping the building rotation keys and it just flat out doesn't work. File: GameUserSettings.ini RemovedActionKeyBinds=(ActionName="RotatePlacementPositive",bShift=False,bCtrl=False,bAlt=False,bCmd=False,Key=E) RemovedActionKeyBinds=(ActionName="RotatePlacementNegative",bShift=False,bCtrl=False,bAlt=False,bCmd=False,Key=Q) RemovedActionKeyBinds=(ActionName="RotatePlacementPositive",bShift=False,bCtrl=False,bAlt=False,bCmd=False,Key=MouseScrollUp) RemovedActionKeyBinds=(ActionName="RotatePlacementNegative",bShift=False,bCtrl=False,bAlt=False,bCmd=False,Key=MouseScrollDown) And yet while in game building objects still rotate when these keys are used. Google search has shown that this has been an issue for 2+ years. Soooo..... is this getting fixed???

  20. I would like to add my vote for this. PLEASE expose the hard-coded binds. The space bar and ESC key for instance. MANY games now allow right-click as a means to cancel or close actions and windows. This is becoming a standard. Why are some of the keys hard-coded in the first place? I use the number keypad for gaming, no WASD for me. Like MANY left-handed (mouse in left hand) players we feel game companies are deliberately discriminating against left-handed people in games, the hard-coded keys are about a foot away from my preferred keys, WHY?

  21. Hello, so i've made a mod that for working requires the characters to wear a ring. I've seen the pinned post on how to add an item to a container and it worked, but from what i've seen i think it only works with containers that have never been opened. I'll like a way to make sure the player gets the rings doesn't matter where they'll be.

  22. Got gold in RT3 Orient Express finally. Lucked out getting 30 mph express average honestly, but found out the secret was to put my corporation 7.5 MM in debt to inflate my networth via buy backs and then buying more of my stock on margin. Completely gaming the system but I suppose that is finance. The Rhodes scenario is soon too, FFS, that one is also hard.

  24. observation unrelated to previous post: the post dlc limit o' a single draconic bloodline means most of our blaster-caster builds has been nerfed. chain lightning is capped at 20d. expanded arsenal now works as described, so no stacking multi school bonuses. numerous mythic extra attack abilities no longer stack with haste. archmage armour needs be cast-- potions or items won't trigger. chant no longer extends protective luck. still works with fortune. while we never personal exploited, the nature's whisper and scaled fist ac bonuses no longer stack. back to the drawing board for blasters. HA! Good Fun! ps(edit): ill omen looks to be a busted effective level one witch spell. the dual-cursed oracle archetype also gains access to the ill omen spell.
