  2. Yes but Russia is not the USSR and Ukraine was also part the USSR and helped certain African countries in the liberation struggle including SA, so by that historical reason Ukraine is also our friend But more important than that the friendship that the ANC had with the USSR was during the Cold War, that cant be used to justify selective interpretations and condemnation of wars and invasions. The ANC official position before the invasion was always basically " we condemn wars and invasions " but they havent condemned Russia like they condemned the US And what makes its worse is they flipflopped around the invasion, here is a link from the initial comments our foreign affairs minister made https://africatimes.com/2022/02/24/south-africa-calls-on-russia-to-withdraw-from-ukraine/#:~:text=“The Republic of South Africa is dismayed at,the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO). To quote " The South African government on Thursday called on Russia to immediately withdraw forces from Ukraine, becoming one of the first African nations to speak up on the matter outside of a global forum like the United Nations Security Council." Then she got into trouble and the message changed and it became " wars are wrong, we believe in peace and all parties need to return to the negotiation table " which is the safe thing to say and obvious but meaningless because what would be the expected comment to make is for Russia to end the invasion. Then there would be immediate peace Im also not disagreeing the ANC sensitivity to perceived colonial and neo-colonial developments but you need to consistent with your views as a government if you say you stand for something like peace or you anti-war and its not just Ukraine where there is this inconsistency And then on a side issue, some people in SA have a lack of interest in understanding the events of history and more importantly how they influenced SA and how Apartheid ended. There is now a fairly common view that " Mandela was a sellout and he betrayed the liberation movement " because he played a huge part in the Codesa negotiations from 1991-1994. Its outrageous and badly informed but it exists Was Mandela a terrorist? He was a terrorist by the technical definition but I dont consider him one because he was fighting against an illegitimate and deeply immoral system and the National Party was not interested in changing anything through negotiations so a violent struggle was inevitable for the likes of ANC But I dont consider him a terrorist because I only consider people as terrorists if they using violence to change a legitimate system and Apartheid SA was not that

  5. Looks like UA hit Black Sea Fleet HQ during an important head honcho meeting and it is said that one admiral is dead and the General Romanchuk, who is responsible for the whole Zaporizhia frontline has been severly wounded. If true, this would be nice accomplishement of UA intelligence. @xzar_monty any news around you about whereabouts of Kadyrov? After coma rumour there is absolute silence about him here. We did not even get the info about news about his death released by Chechen opposition, you’ve mentioned.

  6. No Man's Sky - so apparently terrain regenerates at some point. Or sometimes it doesn't, but sometimes it does? In other words, don't try to dig out/make underground rooms/bases. >.> I need a mod that removes all the HUD with a hotkey vs. having to go in and out the main menu constantly to change it. I don't know why games don't always make that sort of function hotkeyable vs. graphic menu option.

  7. Took a lunch break from doing leather dying. Discovered my glove had a pinprick hole in it, and my thumb is now dyed oxblood red. However, besides that, I now have an articulated torso plate set mostly done. And the back half... Keeping it all fairly simple as I learn and refine some of the basic techniques. Tomorrow will likely be figuring out making and attaching buckles and straps to connect and wear it...

  8. It took decades to get past floating weapons several inches behind the character's back or next to their hip in 3rd person view games and having characters with properly sheathed weapons (plenty of games STILL have floating weapons). How long until we get characters that sleep like people actually do? Just have the screen fade to black for a second then show your character in bed UNDER THE COVERS not on top of them like someone who got blackout drunk or a psychopath.

  9. Not sure why they are necessary. A guy who is attracted to statues? A nymphomaniac elf (clearly an old woman, at least in age) in a magic school with underage boys? At least this time the protagonist wasn't guilty of stealing a girl's underwear, despite actually ending up with one in his hands.

  10. Vinegar Syndrome also just put up pre-orders (at a discount) for The Prophecy Trilogy. I have fond memories of watching those movies waaaay back in the day and I'm 100% snapping that up.

  12. Nah Bruce, Russia and China is never wrong, and only West is allowed to be criticized for double standards, due to our demand for cheap iPhones /s

  13. You are absolutely correct about this, and such people exist even here in the US. The US is indeed held to a very different standard (a double standard) than any other country in the world, and not just compared with countries like Russia and China but even other Western countries. But I will give some credit to those people who are at least honest about their double standard, even if the arguments they make to justify their double standard are complete B.S.

  14. No Man's Sky - I do have some minor irritations. --the KB/M keybinds are often terrible, imo. Yes you can remap them but still terrible. As in, awkward at times. --For some reason when in the Galaxy warping ship map I cannot path a route with the KB/M. But the controller works for that just fine, so I keep switching back and forth. On the flip side, there was one function that didn't seem to work using the controller, even tho game was telling me to press this - when I did, it didn't work. Which is why I used the KB/M. --the Technology additives for some stuff, like more suit poison resistance, that needs to recharge with batteries - the battery lasts like 3-5 minutes in use, which it often is in use constantly if the planet atmosphere is of that hazard or something. It's ridiculous, why even bother. --I like exploring planets, resource gathering, treasure hunting, randomness. Although I could see it becoming repetitive after a while, like most such. --I love the visual look/style, the animals, all of that. --the language/word learning is kinda neat. --hate the space flying/travel re: control, I'm going to avoid that as much as possible. --I have zero curiosity re: the main quest/mystery and all the mumbo jumbo they're tossing around. Edit: not an issue for me at all, just saying it's not that type of game.

  15. I'm just starting my Morrowind adventure. After arriving in Seyda Neen I opted to hoof it to Balmora rather than utilizing a silt strider; I needed to stretch my legs after being cooped up on that boat for days. On the way I visited Fort Pelagiad where I did a bit of shopping to get myself armored, though I was still lacking pauldrons and gloves (plenty of heavy armor choices but not medium). It was getting late so I decided to spend the night at the inn there and was rudely interrupted by a Dark Brotherhood assassin who was keen on exploring my insides with his dagger; nothing a steel mace upside the head couldn't solve, plus he was kind enough to leave me all his gear, which, while not my style, will fetch a pretty penny from a vendor, hopefully several pretty pennies. Moving on, I met some lady who is sweet on a brigand who robbed her and agreed to find said brigand for her. She'll have to wait a while longer, though, as getting to Balmora to see Caius Cosades is my priority (not to mention I want to get more/better gear there before I go gallivanting through the countryside). I made a quick stop at Moonmoth Legion Fort just outside Balmora and told a guard about the rather rude awakening I had experienced the prior night. He didn't want anything to do with it, but did refer me to his superior in Ebonheart. From there, Balmora was just a stone's throw away. Despite not having played this game for well over a decade, I knew exactly where to go to find Caius Cosades. He initiated me into The Blades (I didn't have a choice in the matter) and referred me to several of his associates, I guess they are now my associates too. I'm going to spend some time here getting to know the locals. First stop, the South Wall Cornerclub to get a stiff drink or three.

  16. I took a deep breath, slogged through UI maintenance, and continued with WotR. Finished the opening dungeon. Seems like a step up from Kingamer, so still there was a bit more repeat encounters that I wished they would be. I was almost impressed by opening companion choice, with both characters making compelling arguments for their stance - alas the pragmatic one turned out to be lying, psychotic monster. How unfortunate - they created a compelling decision, only to make it binary good vs evil.
