This is hilarious. Not the fact that hand-drawn is going away from most anime, that's very sad. But the mental image of you doing a short rant about anime becoming trash because of the god damn cgi to your niece(s) tickles my funny bones. It's also something I would do, which is usually not a good sign. It's been a very long time since I've watched an anime feature, maybe I'll watch Whisper of the Heart this weekend as a double feature with Occult Bolshevism (2018).2 points

Anyone here played Fallout: New Vegas? Always found it grating on the ears hearing people calling him Caesar pronounced with a K (I.e. Kaesar)? Well, turns out it is wrong... sort of. Because that doesn't make it sound any closer to classical Latin anyway, far from it, so you might as well stick with the established English pronunciation of it!2 points

I think Gorth is building a home for a Lich. And it's well ackshually a ziqqurat, but eh, pyramid-adjacent enough. Good for you, Gorth. Liches is love. Oh, and don't forget to visit that blighted undead druid on the hill on the Wintersun map with your Lich.2 points

as a paladin he weren't gonna get too many o' those and not 'til relative late anyway, although a few o' the party buffs is quite nice. he won't even have access to the level ten silliness until the last few minutes o' the game. not a major self gimp by forgoing the spell book... not major. @Gorth the blighted treants is indeed vulnerable to fire, but to suppress their regeneration, any old fire will do the trick, including a flask of alchemists fire. not affected by the target's sr is alchemist fire. haven't tried, but am suspecting an ordinary torch would also work. am not recalling if all the trees has deflect arrows or is just the one battling the demons. regardless, is advisable to use glitterdust as it ignores sr and will possible blind the trees. similar, while the trees immune to mind effects, stuns and paralysis, they is not immune to prone. grease is another spell which ignores sr and it works 'gainst 'em, although on hard and above the reflex saves o' the trees were improbable good. a selective and heightened grease is as effective early game as it is late and deserves a place in your spell repertoire. our biggest hurdle with the blighted treants is our self-ownage as am ordinary using multiple animal companions and when making natural attacks you become affected by the tree's sap which will cause disease with an extreme high dc. good luck. HA! Good Fun!1 point

8-Bit Adventures 2: Huh, why u no embed? Embed u giev!1! - ah, worked now... Anyone else probably won't need 40 hours to finish the game, I just grinded a whole lot more than necessary, and spent a whole lot of time backtracking and trying to do quests that were clearly there to do, but simply not accessible yet. It also has some pacing issues here and there but was otherwise a pretty nice game riding on old JRPG nostalgia. As such, it does what is required of a JRGP. It has an airship (alas, no flying fortress) to explore the world with, and a story that becomes increasingly unhinged every step of the way before going completely off the rails. Much like its predecessor it's story is built upon toying with the fourth wall. It does a good job of capturing the old-school JRPG feel without recreating the more annoying parts. There are no random encounters, for instance, and enemies do not respawn as long as you stay within a dungeon, unless you exit of tell the save point to revive them. Also, the, uhm, save points in the game are not necessary. You can save whenever you feel like it. They're still there, for nostalgia's sake, and to provide boss clues and some friendly banter. Can certainly spend one's money on worse stuff.1 point

still a mini combo! not everything has to be hermetic to a solo character. though the big problem with this stuff is that at least on PotD enemy health way outscales your character, so relying on returning some of the damage you receive in any meaningful way does not seem like a great strategy. at least with stuff like riposte, you are avoiding damage at the same time.1 point

Made it to a Morbus mission in Chaos Gate, most tedious crap ever, just getting buried in randomly spawning enemies. Glad I got this game for free1 point

Ahh, ok. Thanks. Yes, I'm sure there's plenty of mythic path related content I have no idea about. "Home for a Lich" sounds like an interesting headline in a magazine on interior decorating.1 point

Im 8 hours into Kingdom Come: Deliverance and so far Im loving the overall Medieval experience the game provides, some highlights its a beautiful game. I am running it on maximum graphic settings I know nothing about this historical time period so I am enjoying the lore around Bohemia I like the different survival mechanics like nourishment and rest. Its realistic I haven't really touched on serious combat but I finally worked out how lockpicking works which was very rewarding when I got the ring the miller asked for from the executioner I like the open world design, I enjoy exploring and interacting with people I installed some good mods and everything I was advised to use, like save anywhere , seems relevant and appropriate for the game. I will do another update once I am further in the game but Im very impressed1 point

Of course it's his mod and he can do what he wants. Just don't present arbitrary decisions as logical when it suits, right? Personally I'm kind of tired of repeating what to me seem very obvious points just to see them ignored and misconstrued. But I never said either of those strawmen. First, for a given role there exists at least one alternative multiclass that is better at that role than the single class ranger. Therefore little reason to pick single class ranger. So the clas should be improved. And I've given many suggestions to improve it. Second, I think bonded fury with the proposed changes at 1 bond is stronger than it needs to be. Not "completely unbalanced".1 point

Well, ultimately it's Eric's Mod, so.. but I think there is enough evidence in this thread (45 pages long..) that he involves in a frequent and thorough discussion with other people on how to improve the game. But if it's "quite arbitrary", then why shouldn't he do what he wants anyway? Personally, (might be just me, because I'm lying ill at home) it's hard to follow your key arguments, since I feel that some of your points contradict each other. The discussion changes too often between the extremes of "(singleclass) rangers suck and are beaten in each and every aspect by 10 different classes" and "bonded fury providing one net bond after 60 seconds is completely unbalanced" (again, just my loose interpretation!) On a different note: How does bonded fury work with the ghostheart pet? If the duration is too long and the ghost pet cannot be sustained long enough than it might be close to a trap choice for ghosthearts.1 point

More Tales of Arise. I have restored order in Elde Menancia and two more members joined my team. The mood of the game changed completely after entering the region, but will probably go back into the old ways in the next one. I have to say, I am happy, that I have avoided all of the spoilers last two years, the game surprised me few times, with unexpected plot twists I am enjoying the game and the story much more than Final Fantasy XV.1 point

worth noting how in spite o' the claim in the video, the capacity to auto-resolve crusade battle were already in the game before this beta patch and all the patch does is add an additional button in the crusade ui. am assuming if mortismal don't seem to know 'bout the current implementation o' the auto-resolve feature, other players could be unaware. though is possible mortismal is the last wotr fan to be unaware and Gromnir is repeating info everybody else already knows-- if such is the case am apologizing for stating the obvious. to implement the auto-resolve for tactical combats, hit the settings icon (little cog) to the right o' the "skip day" button on the world map ui. doing so reveals three options including the auto resolve o' tactical combats choice. observation: don't be concerned 'bout getting struck with the rng bat or similar as you may opt-out o' auto resolution both before tactical combats begin and after they conclude. as such, if you do not like the outcome o' an auto-resolve battle, you may chose to fight such conflicts manually. am not certain what maths owlcat uses to determine outcomes, but if you got better than numerical parity with foes and a decent number o' hospitals, you ordinarily auto-resolve w/o any losses which results in a minor but noteworthy gameplay time savings. am also gonna observe how the woeful undervalued enemy armies with their mage generals capable o' casting fire or lightning do suffer from this feature as those foes is treated as no more powerful than any other strength six, eight or whatever army you might encounter. use auto-resolve to dispatch the lightning hurling glabrezu near greengates makes the battle pleasantly anticlimactic. HA! Good Fun!1 point

It's the thing after Iz that locks you out of stuff, if anything you get a bit more content, and a bit may be an exaggeration, by doing Iz first.1 point

Whisper of the Heart (1995). The nieces are home for spring break, and they wanted to see the "prequel" to The Cat Returns. I actually tried to have them watch it once in the past probably like a year ago, but I didn't really expect them to care for it because it's not the silly fantastical adventure that The Cat Returns is, and they kind of lost interest like 20 minutes in. But for some reason, they were in the mood today and unlike last time, it kept their attention the entire duration and they loved it even with some of the sillier awkward teenage stuff that they find embarrassing, so watching it with them was positively magical. Still my favorite movie of all time, I had to hide tears from my nieces at several junctures. (e): Also, oh my gosh this movie is so gorgeous, even my older niece commented a few times on how insane some of the artwork was, which, of course, made me launch into a short spiel about everything being hand-drawn compared to the computer animation of today, which only seemed to break her brain even more. Hurts my soul we'll never see its kind again, but I can be thankful at least it exists.1 point

If you have 1 hour and 10 minutes of time, this is an excellent presentation, which talks about the situation, in which Putin forced Russia, and how it is affecting it now and in the future, even if they would win tomorrow. By Perun.1 point

Well, the difference is, that the people falling asleep at the Biden’s speech, can still accept the invite to a tea party without commiting “self-defenestration” afterwards1 point

It's very clear that after Dead Space 1 there's a different director. It becomes a lot more action-y and a lot less horror, imho. I've always said that the only really scary part of DS2 to me was when Note that this doesn't mean I consider DS2 and 3 bad games, necessarily, but as horror they don't get anywhere near the level of the original. Anyway, glad to hear the remake is good, once the price drops to something remotely reasonable (full price for a remake is not remotely reasonable in my book) I'll likely pick it up.1 point
