One does not joke about Temuera Morrison's physique, certainly not using culturally inappropriate references to popular media. It's an imprisonable offence with a 6 month minimum sentence here. One does it using culturally appropriate references to homegrown media, like "Too much KFC; not not enough gym work" (instead of "Too much weights; not enough speedwork". Actually one of the tamer scenes in Once Were Warriors, but there's a naughty word and a beatdown so no hotlink)

Sandman, episode 5: 24/7. I know a lot of critics seem to be raving over it, and it's one of those ones where.. the acting is good, Thewliss being Thewliss, it all ties into the story they're working for John Dee... But at the same time it's very compressed and feels more like 3 hours rather than 24 and they lose a lot of the disturbing, creepy, horror of the story. The fan made film of that story a few years back pretty much hit the ball out of the park for that mind-bending insanity horror, and maybe that's the comparison that keeps lingering in my head. But I do think that episode 6: The Sound of Her Wings is probably my favorite one out of the batch. They have the chemistry of Death and Dream down pat, and the White Horse Pub every century for the meetings with Hob Gadling are pretty pitch perfect and carry all the emotions.

I think the Predators in most of the movies are the dumb 18 year olds of the species going on their first hunt.

Prey is extremely good, yeah. Probs my second fave movie of the year, after Everything Everywhere.

I have some bad news, I am in JHB till the 11/12 August for work so I am not gaming till I get back to CPT. Which means my "Saga of the Sword Coast " chronicles will be paused till then On Thursday and my last BG1 session I did complete the Cloakwood Mines and found some very useful items, the narrative is also becoming clearer. The nefarious forces behind the scenes will soon be revealed I am now on my way to BG and I have loads of money so it should be eventful and rewarding. I also found some underground tunnels inhabited by Ankhegs and once I killed them I am getting some Ankheg armor made in Beregost for my 2 x fighters which are Khalid and Kivan...this armor should be very useful in future battles

Stayed up all night and beat Through the Ashes. I liked it, much harder than the base game but that's also probably way easier to do with only about 5 or 6 levels and a very linear gameplay.

I've also just watched Prey. Liked it a lot. At least as good, or as others said, maybe even better than the first movie.

I'm back from the range. I'm pleasantly surprised at how much accuracy I've retained given that I haven't fired a gun in close to a decade and never this exact gun before. The first target is me dialing in the red dot. I would fire off a grouping of 3, bring the target in, adjust the sight, lather, rinse, repeat: You can see how far the sights were off to start in the lower left corner. I was aiming at the center at about 10 yards. By the end of the 15 round mag I had her dialed in pretty well. Next grouping at 10 yards: 3 nasty outliers, otherwise a pretty solid grouping. I shot my 3rd mag (Glock is nice enough to give you 3 with the gun) at roughly 17 ot 18 yards: Getting used to the trigger pull is the biggest thing right now. The immediate goal is to eventually get groupings like my 10 yard grouping (minus the 3 nasty outliers) at 20 yards. Side note: The Glock 40 kicks like a mule and sounds like a bomb going off, just how I like it. A gentleman 2 lanes over was teaching his lady friend (wife?) to shoot a .22 (a sensible choice to start). It sounded like a BB gun compared to my Glock monstrosity. Not throwing shade, to be clear, the first gun I ever shot was a .22.

Finished ME3. Was rather amusing to see how Garrus and Vega with Typhoons just dismantled everything during that boss fight. Did the God Empress Shepard with the creepy monologue over the slideshow. Edit : Have started Andromeda, combat seems like it might be more interesting with movement, the Frostbite engine is aptly named, everything looks cold, heh, damn dead eyed characters. My Ryder seems to have trouble making eye contact when speaking to people. Just out of the prologue, arrived at the Citadel

They flunked out of Predator Hunting Academy but they had rich patents so the Predator Hunting Commission sent them to Earth to get them as far away from the important hunting grounds as possible and get the rich folks off their case.

I did indeed continue on to Bard's Tale 2, a decision many a gamer likely rued. Or potentially all of them, because that was the worst dungeon crawler I've ever had the misfortune of playing. Arcane riddles, sprawling maps that randomly kill your light, songs, or spells and severely grating fights againt hordes of spellcasters that take ages because fifty of the three hundred enemies you're facing decide to cast area of effect spells. The impact is lessened a little with some of the items that can be found and by simply running away, but in the end, for the final few dungeons, all I did was run from every single fight and re-cast buffs. It's so bad the developers realized it and eventually give you items that can cast buffs (with infinte charges) that are immune to the anti-magic zones, but those are too little, too late, usually, and they still don't work against darkness. Nothing more fun than half the map being dark. Walk walk, check map. Walk walk, check map. Walk. Check. Walk. *sigh* Yeah, not touching that. Like ever again.
