Since Denuvo changed their licensing model a while back, I'm not really bothered nearly as much by its inclusion. Denuvo works orders of magnitude better than any other DRM that came before it, and most games protected by it do not get cracked or at least do not get meaningfully cracked - i.e., maybe one version of the game, usually one close to release, might get cracked, but then nothing after that: it's just too difficult and too time-consuming for cracking groups to really handle. However...while Denuvo used to sell perpetual licenses, they are now a real proper money-gouging "service" (and this is one of the only times I'll ever celebrate that) in that publishers must pay quite a hefty sum to continue to protect their games with Denuvo on an ongoing basis, and this means that even very big games eventually lose Denuvo - at the very least, the singleplayer ones that aren't earning the cash to continue to warrant it. Way I see it, this means games get protected for 6-24 months, which strongly encourages the people who really want to play them to actually buy them (which is good for the prospects of bigger singleplayer-only titles in particular, which have always been at higher risk of being pirated en masse relative to multiplayer titles), but it also means publishers will eventually push clean builds through Steam et al. somewhere down the road...which is good for those of us who either don't want anything to do with (or straight up can't play with) Denuvo, OR for those of us who would be waiting to buy something at a lower price point anyways. I think this is a fair compromise, and a much better and sustainable situation than those nasty perpetual licenses Denuvo was selling previously. Now that they've pretty reliably proven their DRM works and many publishers use it and will want to continue to do so, it makes sense they'd change their pricing model to take advantage of that, and the rest of us can luckily benefit from it.

I didnt think Kent was taken seriously by much of the media because of his links and associations to right-wing groups like the Proud Boys. He seems to be getting lots of positive news reporting now? Saying all that he is right of course. Trump was very much influenced by Israel around deciding to attack Iran and as we have discussed the US and Israeli objectives are different which makes the objective of a US " win " confusing and difficult to define

https://www.nytimes.com/2026/03/14/us/politics/marines-iran-war.html The US is sending another ship to the region and it has the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit They could be used to secure the Straits and protect international shipping. The Iranian attacks on the Straits has become the biggest headache for the global economy and this is an important strategy if its true "The unit, officially known as the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, according to two U.S. defense officials, will be in an unusual position given the problem vexing the Pentagon: the Iranian military’s ability to mine the strait, a narrow waterway through which a fifth of the world’s oil passes. U.S. airstrikes have forced the Iranians to forego their larger naval vessels and deploy fast boats carrying mines that can evade aircraft. These boats would likely launch from an archipelago of islands closer to the strait. With the arrival of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit from the Indo-Pacific region in the coming days, the Pentagon will be able to quickly launch raids onto the islands with infantry Marines who will have logistics and air support, said a retired senior defense official with knowledge of the unit’s capabilities."

I wasn't that keen on Whedon as a writer, but the group of writers he used was top notch and his shows were overall, excellent. He suffered hugely retroactively from (apart from the obvious, or other obvious) being so often imitated, badly. Not least by: Marc 'Felicity and Friends' Guggenheim. Who is a colossal step down from Tim Minear as showrunner. And not just because that means a lot fewer Blake's 7 references.

Edit: what I meant, live-action and a storyline where they're simply older/the future, like original-cast Star Trek movies. But Wash died in Serenity while looking young. You cannot have him (canonically) back in a post-Serenity timeline looking way older without some Star Trek Khan-blood/alt-universe shennigans or something. Series is supposed to be set before Serenity, during the inbetween years I guess, so they'd all be "young". I dont' really care about the Whedon thing. I think he got burnt out after the Marvel phases and even if not, I wouldn't assume he's "the same creative force" as during his popular heyday to begin with. Time can change things for anyone.

I don't see it, Wash and Zoe could just play their old married couple spiel without being too young for it, and Alan Tudyk's still a total nerd at heart. Nathan Fillion on the other hand looks like Walter Sobchak and the Dude had a love child. Guess Captain Hammer didn't lie when he said he doesn't go to the gym. :p Realistically, they've all grown too old for their roles. Inara could still work, because Morena Baccarin has this timeless beauty and charisma, but being young and quirky is a major part of Kaylee's and River's character, and Simon's just too old to be the idealistic young doctor. Edit: Also, while there are some posters here who probably think it is a good thing, not having Joss Whedon attached to the project is also questionable.

TLDW: a new proposed animated Firefly series, most of the surviving original actors as VA's (including Adam Baldwin, who was not at the announcement panel). Set after Season1, before film Serenity. Fillion doing some writing. Whedon not involved. Still in development/does not yet have a distributor (they're shopping around for one now). I'd prefer live-action but animation is the only way to get Wash back I guess (actors got old, like me, after all). Can hope it doesn't turn into another pipe dream.

Think it's fairly clear that Gabbard and Vance at least agree with Kent on substance. Even if they aren't resigning over it. A position I have some sympathy with, given Colin Powell didn't resign over Gulf War 2 either despite at very best being a reluctant supporter (and by most accounts disagreeing with it up outright until. it became clear it was going to happen whatever he thought). Gabbard's comments could have hardly been less committal when it comes for support for Trumps' position and amounted to a basic statement of fact- it was Trump's decision. Not even a whiff of "and I supported him in that decision". Vance has been practically AW(O?)L since it started. Trump's reaction to being snubbed is close to exactly what I'd expect from a class bully who has picked a fight he wants out of, and just found out that actually people don't like him and were only being nice to him because they wanted him to steal someone else's lunch money, not theirs.

Top counterterrorism official Kent resigns over Trump’s Iran war, says Iran posed no imminent threat I'm glad to see somebody in that circle showed moral qualms about redacted's actions. ‘Never heard him so angry’: Trump is furious that global allies aren’t pitching in in Iran Crackpot is angry his fantasy world doesn't match reality? Huh.

You often hear on AJ guests who support the Iranian state and they very anti-US and anti-Israel Thats why its relevant to watch AJ because they have interviews with people that are not typically included on CNN or BBC They have there own biases and agendas but thats the same as most political commentators. But you still get to hear from people who are pro the Iranian state and the state obviously has support The real question which we will never know is how much support if Iran had a free and fair election, I would guess 35-45%?- Bandage rework
Your idea is fantastic! I love it! I hope the official team sees it! However, the bandages in the first game were a bit too simple and overpowered. I think your point about "being able to withstand 1-2 attacks without interruption" is brilliant. It allows players to better judge when to use bandages, increasing the fun and strategic thinking in the game, instead of using them haphazardly like in the first game or being afraid of wasting them in the second!ogc80999 started following Bandage rework- The Ultimate discussion thread Pt 2
@smuts When did you send your submission? I did it on december 10. Sam responded the same day. He wrote that it was bussy year for Obsidian and there are still two previous submissions to verify and he will look at mine in the new year. Nothing new since then.- I can sense that this sequel is going to be a big hit. So far, the experience has been great, but I still have some concerns. I hope I can do my part in supporting it. This is the first time I've spoken out for a game I like.
I suddenly had an extension idea to point 2...! I think it's super cool...! Let's assume there really are mosquito mounts in the future. The price for flying on a given day would be that you have to reduce your maximum health (e.g., by 20%) to feed the mosquitoes (fuel) in order to use the mount for a day. If you have to use it for several consecutive days, your maximum health would be reduced even more each day (20% on the first day, 30% on the second day, 50% on the third day, and so on, depending on the three difficulty levels in the game), until you give the mosquitoes a few days of rest, at which point the accumulated penalty would reset.- Multiple Wheels for Hotbar and Mutation Loadouts
I totally agree! I think the Mutation Wheel absolutely needs to be added. In the first game, when a teammate was down in multiplayer, you could instantly switch to a reliable friend's mutation, revive them, and then switch back to combat mutation – so convenient! The current multi-tool is definitely a plus, saving a lot of inventory space, but the lack of multiple quick access slots is really a problem.
