HA! Good Fun! The sad thing is this sentiment would have been equally true applied to Clinton had she won. Well, maybe not. Congress would have been against her but there would have been no shortage of demagoguery and bad government from a Clinton Administration. Guard Dog
I thought he was worth 10 billion or something. Also he is now trying to sling twitter crap at Snoop Dogg? Tax is collected on income, not actual worth. Which is a pity... there should be a progressive tax both on total wealth and income Just how much of someone elses labor and investments do you think you're entitled to? Malcador
If Ted Nugent made a video like that, he'd receive an avalanche of media criticism. He'd probably get some boycotts and lose some gigs. He would not be jailed, and President Obama would not tweet about it. That is reality. Nugent might gain from such a thing as well. Why has elegance found so little following? Yeah but he was just playing to his crowd as well. You pretty much expect celebrities to say stupid stuff. Celebrity does not equal intelligence. Quite the opposite often times, the kind of person that seeks out celebrity is often egotistical and self-absorbed. But when the President is getting in a huff over it, that is pretty embarrassing. Tax is collected on income, not actual worth. Yes, and he declared 100 million in investment income, which would be miniscule if it came from, say, a 4 billion investment portfolio. It's much more likely that he had a 1 or 2 billion portfolio at the time which would mean that he was never worth 10 billion. 5, maybe, if you're charitable. Or perhaps the majority of his assets are value assets rather than income earning assets. It's hard to say. I didn't look at what they released at all. It would not surprise me is his holdings are distributed to all of his enterprises with only a minimal amount of "personal" holding the IRS collects from him directly on. I have no doubt he has an army of accountants making all that go round and round. Chilloutman
not sure where to put it but hats down to /pol guys, I mean it really took some dedication: I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? Gfted1
2 Federal Judges Rule Against Trump’s Latest Travel Ban Aside, federal judges REALLY need to be stripped of this power. Agiel
Perhaps Trump's staffers should consider getting him an Audible account. Quote “Political philosophers have often pointed out that in wartime, the citizen, the male citizen at least, loses one of his most basic rights, his right to life; and this has been true ever since the French Revolution and the invention of conscription, now an almost universally accepted principle. But these same philosophers have rarely noted that the citizen in question simultaneously loses another right, one just as basic and perhaps even more vital for his conception of himself as a civilized human being: the right not to kill.” -Jonathan Littell <<Les Bienveillantes>> Quote "The chancellor, the late chancellor, was only partly correct. He was obsolete. But so is the State, the entity he worshipped. Any state, entity, or ideology becomes obsolete when it stockpiles the wrong weapons: when it captures territories, but not minds; when it enslaves millions, but convinces nobody. When it is naked, yet puts on armor and calls it faith, while in the Eyes of God it has no faith at all. Any state, any entity, any ideology that fails to recognize the worth, the dignity, the rights of Man...that state is obsolete." -Rod Serling
