How I have existed fills me with horror. For I have failed in everything - spelling, arithmetic, riding, tennis, golf; dancing, singing, acting; wife, mistress, whore, friend. Even cooking. And I do not excuse myself with the usual escape of 'not trying'. I tried with all my heart.

In my dreams, I am not crippled. In my dreams, I dance.

Why would you  be hoping for this, Texas is never going to secede  from the USA....surly people arent serious about this?

Haha, oh wow. They actually did it! How wouldn't i want to be a fly in the wall in Juncker's room now.

I would say that Cameron's room is most likely much more interesting. Juncker probably don't even have plans to continue his political career after his tenure in Commission is over, which is probably before actual brexit happens.

EDIT: It seems that Cameron's room has become much less interesting

David Cameron resigns after UK votes to leave European Union

Yes, Cameron I imagine will resign

Despite his best efforts to do what he feels is best for  the future of the UK the reality is he will now always be remembered as the UK PM who allowed the UK to leave the EU...he will step down considering the outcome of the BREXIT vote

Are you ****ing kidding me? The only reason we had a referendum in the first place was because Cameron wanted to take votes off of a small fringe party who garnered about 14% of the projected national vote when the Tories and Labor had been long tied. So he mimicked their tough talk stance on Europe and accidentally got himself into the position where he was strong-armed into holding a referendum and made that fringe party a political force. He put his party's electoral chances before the national interest. He shouldn't be resigning, he should be kicked out. He's an incompetent ****wit and the only thing that stops me jumping for joy that he's losing his job is that all of the potential replacements are worse. And now he's shrugging his shoulders and walking away from the mess he created. Bastard.

Heh, Cameron gone and Bliarites having another tilt at Corbyn, must be a day ending in y again for the latter. God forbid that Labour had a leader who actually talked sensibly to people instead of stridently 'yelling' his views at people like just about everyone else, and the Bliarites' sole connection to the disaffected Labour voters in the north who voted to leave is that they occasionally drive the A1(M)/ M1 in their Hybrids (double heh, most are probably so hypocritical they drive a ponce mobile like an X5) to swill chardonnay after their round of golf or visiting the holiday home in Scotland. Surely another leader lecturing people to vote one way because if they didn't there would be Exodusian plagues visited upon the land would have convinced people how to vote...

Quite a bit talk of another financial crisis recently.

You'd think that people got tired of fear mongering by now.

Once markets understand that Brexit will end with a Norway-type deal EU can easily bounce back.

But that's exactly the problem as this may be it's last chance for any serious reforms.

There will be another financial crisis. They never really fixed the issues from the last one so you now have near identical situations with housing bubbles across multiple countries, too big to fail and the like. You even still have derivatives, you just don't have sub prime to trigger everything this time. The exit makes the British (well, London/ SE) housing bubble very likely to burst and once one goes the dominoes will fall. Not really the exit's fault though, it could be near literally anything to cause it, that is the nature of speculative bubbles. It will probably even be worse this time since interest rates have nowhere lower to go for stimulus and most places have barely recovered at this point. Most of the developed world is looking at a Japan in the 1990s situation of negative growth and deflation. And they don't want to reform and won't reform due to short term benefits from the status quo and not wanting to lose elections.

I really don't know if the EU can reform at this point. The core power group has been so intransigent about always increasing integration that I'm not sure even this will cause actual introspection instead of just labelling England as chauvinistic jingoists who didn't know a good thing when they had it; and they have a pathological fear that any reasonable response would cause contagion in other countries. A reasonable response, earlier, would have seen Remain winning the referendum.

God forbid there are those of us who like what is made possible when European countries come together and pool their talent and resources. Speaking from an aviation enthusiast's perspective:

-AgustaWestland

-SEPECAT Jaguar

-Alpha Jet

-Concorde

-Panavia Tornado

-MBDA

-Eurofighter Typhoon

-Eurocopter Tiger

-Aérospatiale Gazelle

-Harrier (keep in mind that the original concept originated from a French engineer, Michel Wibault)

-Airbus and its long partnership with Rolls Royce

In fact in the long run Rolls-Royce could suffer an irreparable blow to jet engine market share as a result of this mess. Say hello to Pratt & Whitney and General Electric duopoly for wide bodies!

Any state, entity, or ideology becomes obsolete when it stockpiles the wrong weapons: when it captures territories, but not minds; when it enslaves millions, but convinces nobody. When it is naked, yet puts on armor and calls it faith, while in the Eyes of God it has no faith at all. Any state, any entity, any ideology that fails to recognize the worth, the dignity, the rights of Man...that state is obsolete."

You're my friend, so I'm holding this intervention out of love.

surly adj 1. Sullenly ill-humored; gruff

Surly people are always serious. Ask me how I feel about religion or Barti how he feels about mayonnaise, you will get a surly response.

I'm just very surprised that it's Texas and not the South lol

Certain southern states benefit heavily from federal money, giving far less than they take in.

The modern English. I'm deeply ashamed for my race.

Quite an experience to live in misery isn't it? That's what it is to be married with children.

I've seen things you people can't even imagine. Pearly Kings glittering on the Elephant and Castle, Morris Men dancing 'til the last light of midsummer. I watched Druid fires burning in the ruins of Stonehenge, and Yorkshiremen gurning for prizes. All these things will be lost in time, like alopecia on a skinhead. Time for tiffin.

Perusing the web and noticed these comments.

The results of a democratic referendum = fascism and hate

It's all because of jaded old people and we should strip them of their voting rights because they're doing this out of spite to ruin the future for the glorious young people who are glorious, because they're young.

It's the evil forces of racism and "xenophobia" that caused 52% of the nation to vote that way, and by the way it's all old people

It's a bad decision because muh economy and a temporary market/currency crash (that will stabilize in a week) even though none of them trade any currencies or shares and hate "the 1%" who lose the most in this scenario

And...

Americans celebrating British Independence, what times. :)

Also...

We're gonna build a wall, and we will make Scotland pay for it! Oh wait, we already HAVE a wall. And the Romans paid for it. Just pile some more stones on Hadrian's wall.

And there's already a petition demanding a second referendum to be done with fresh rules that if the results are less than 60% or so there should be a continual re-do of referendum until there's a clear "winning majority"...

Ow I know lol (looking at u Alabama) but I thought it was funny because living in the south uve grown up hearing "the south is gonna rise again!" from the proud holders of their confederate flags.

And yes, besides our government, I do find it quite nice in a weird way to congratulate the English in their independence. Feels so good doesn't it hehe
