Gfted1 Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 How is it inclusive if you can only choose one gender? And she's probably white. Yep, confirmed in the above screenshot, assuming that's the protagonist. "I'm your biggest fan, Ill follow you until you love me, Papa"
Keyrock Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 How is it inclusive if you can only choose one gender? And she's probably white. I bet neither of them is handicapped. These abeleist scum disgust me. RFK Jr 2024 "Any organization created out of fear must create fear to survive." - Bill Hicks
Zoraptor Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Looks like your 'wayward companion' is blind since she has cataracts, that would count as a disability. It would also explain why she is 'wayward', I guess. They've clearly thought things through pretty well there. Have to admit, I'm moderately interested despite it sounding like something the 'codex would come up with as a parody. 2
Namutree Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Include female, exclude male This is the new **** ? There's nothing politically correct or incorrect about having female leads. I don't really see where you're coming from. "Good thing I don't heal my characters or they'd be really hurt." Is not something I should ever be thinking. I use blue text when I'm being sarcastic.
Malcador Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 People are going to lap that up. Why has elegance found so little following? Elegance has the disadvantage that hard work is needed to achieve it and a good education to appreciate it. - Edsger Wybe Dijkstra
Amentep Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 The Mooncrest story apparently follows Sera a newly minted Paladin of Mooncrest who meets Pirotase and together they uncover a conspiracy. All of the relationship/dialogue pieces is then between these two set characters rather than the Bio-way of multiple companions to make a party from. I'm guessing that's where the "A story of sisterhood" bit comes from. So it's basically Hunted: Demon's Forge, except politically correct and inclusive. I liked Hunted:The Demon Forge, so that wouldn't be so bad. Particularly if they can improve on its gameplay. Don't really care about the forced protagonists for this nor hunted 2 I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? Yet I must - but I cannot! ~ Ro-Man
Bartimaeus Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 (edited) Include female, exclude male This is the new **** Isn't it just...not a player-made protagonist? Are we gonna start complaining about all of the literally hundreds - thousands, really - of games that don't give you a choice in regards to the character(s) you play, now? This isn't anything new... Edited July 23, 2015 by Bartimaeus Quote How I have existed fills me with horror. For I have failed in everything - spelling, arithmetic, riding, tennis, golf; dancing, singing, acting; wife, mistress, whore, friend. Even cooking. And I do not excuse myself with the usual escape of 'not trying'. I tried with all my heart. In my dreams, I am not crippled. In my dreams, I dance.

Humanoid Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Of all the dot points to talk about, it's the least interesting to me. I'm more concerned about the "tactical-but-Souls" combat claimed: how does that even work? I'd have thought those are fundamentally opposite things. Either I'm in there swinging my sword around, or I'm at arms length directing the (two?) characters independently. In line with my preference for only controlling the one character in any given RPG, I would certainly hope the companion character can be set fully autonomous - and I'm kind of expecting it to be like any recent Bioware game, in that "hey you can give your party members orders if want, I guess" indifferent sort of way. I wouldn't call that tactical, but I don't want tactical, so hey. Totally fine with the predefined characters. Also fine with fully customised characters. I only really complain about games that try to compromise and do semi-custom, as you lose the strengths of both approaches. L I E S T R O N GL I V E W R O N G

I only really complain about games that try to compromise and do semi-custom, as you lose the strengths of both approaches. I'm fine with all three, but like fully customized the least; as those are the least supported by most RPGs, and games rarely take much notice of the custom PC's custom personality. *Blank slates are the worst; as all BS PCs tend to play like they fell out of a hole in the sky one night. Azure79 Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Kinda reminds me of Heavenly Sword, which I enjoyed well enough. I check out the kickstarter and pledge if it seems interesting.
teknoman2 Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 it's like calling a movie racist/sexist because the mc is a white male and there is no version that uses a black or asian male or female as mc The words freedom and liberty, are diminishing the true meaning of the abstract concept they try to explain. The true nature of freedom is such, that the human mind is unable to comprehend it, so we make a cage and name it freedom in order to give a tangible meaning to what we dont understand, just as our ancestors made gods like Thor or Zeus to explain thunder. -Teknoman2- What? You thought it was a quote from some well known wise guy from the past? Stupidity leads to willful ignorance - willful ignorance leads to hope - hope leads to sex - and that is how a new generation of fools is born! We are hardcore role players... When we go to bed with a girl, we roll a D20 to see if we hit the target and a D6 to see how much penetration damage we did. Modern democracy is: the sheep voting for which dog will be the shepherd's right hand.
Keyrock Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 (edited) I can only speak for myself, but quite obviously I was joking around about having a problem with the characters in the game, poking fun at the utter insanity of today's outrage culture and the so called "progressives" (What exactly they're trying to progress us toward is unclear. I think it might be oblivion). I'd like to think everybody else was too. Edited July 23, 2015 by Keyrock RFK Jr 2024 "Any organization created out of fear must create fear to survive." - Bill Hicks

Lexx Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HAaKEF4FCCo I am wondering how much that game leak influenced the final sales. Me personally, from the screenshots and videos we had seen till that date, the game was pretty much not interesting at all. But then the leak appeard and BOOM suddenly everyone was talking about DX:HR and the hype became so big, because people suddenly noticed how much it plays like the original and that it is pretty cool. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing "I'm an Oscar Meyer Wiene"
