Orogun01
I'm curious who the lead plaintiff would be. EA's stock is 99% owned by financial corporations and placed into things like RRSP mutual funds and so forth. Part of me has a hard time believing any of them would be a part of a class suit like this (I don't even know if a company can join a class action suit), but I could be wrong? Well corporations are now considered people so maybe they can be part in a suit. Sill they probably need a court representative, although I'm not sure if the right to face one's accuser extend to corporations as a whole or whether they need to disclose the names of board members. I'd say the answer to that question is kind of like the answer to "who's the sucker in this poker game?"* *If you can't tell, it's you.

The thing that seems weird to me is that they're suing on behalf of shareholders the entity in which the shareholders have shares. So if they win the shareholders... get paid their own money, in effect, plus devalue their own shares?
Meshugger
Well I have now lost all my optimism regarding the legal system...**** them rich folk! Next thing you know you'll be pirating games for the sake of communism. Stop this at once! If it were't for rich people, there wouldn't be any order, progress and civilization! Rich people care about you, they pay you their money, etc. Now is the time to abolish democracy and replace it with our aristocratic cabal of philosopher kings. I can tell it, the time is now nigh!...... .... ... .. . Sorry, wrong forum. Please ignore that. I cba to look into the specifics of class actions, especially as this appears to be based on lex specialis. Hopefully one of my American colleagues will know more about the particulars, of there are some limitations in the act. Short version, a corporation is (and has been for a long time) a person in the eyes of the court, hence retarded decisions like giving them absurd "rights" based on it, too. Ok, I just finished some brushing up on the subject and you were right. It's apparently been going on (at least in the US) from as early as 1938. Also there has been precedent of corporations suing each other, so in my amateur opinion this will likely go to court unless they settle. Wrath of Dagon
Saw this link on RPS, about trying to get Kingdom Come financed http://www.warhorsestudios.cz/index.php?page=blog&entry=blog_031&lang=en To me it's a great idea, I've wanted a historical RPG forever, although as someone said to them it probably wouldn't do well in America, since no one cares about history. Raithe
Heh. Something I've noticed is that Amazon UK has been slowly increasing the price of AC: Black Flag over the past week or so. Every few days they've been adding another 50pence or so. Now it's up to £31.99. Wonder if there's any specific reason for that. "Cuius testiculos habeas, habeas cardia et cerebellum."
