Hurlshort Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Waa waa, mrkreku has to share with girls The point he is making is that they got to "share" through no effort of their own. So if some guy who was not part of that original founding group wants to play, does he have to build everything from the ground up? Keyrock Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 (edited) In fairness, an undeserved sense of entitlement is hardly a penomenon exclusive to the female gender. Now, getting back on track with the silliness, I'll concede LadyCrimson's leather thong for the guys as long as the females are forced to wear nipple tassels: Note: They don't HAVE to be Hello Kitty nipple tassels, though that would be a plus. So if some guy who was not part of that original founding group wants to play, does he have to build everything from the ground up? They did go through some effort, they used the legal system to get their practice and playing time I think you lack knowledge of how a sports club functions. If they had joined our club, we would have shared the times as we did with all the members. They formed a women's club and demanded to get half of the practice times on the field we built. Granted, in Sweden you get aid from the government for projects like this (so technically both men and women paid for it), but the work was done by us. I actually thought about something that was even worse than what I wrote was the worst in the first post: after the women got half of our practice times, they started complaining that they didn't get as good practice times as the guys.. "the girls have to practice early in the morning while the guys get all the good practice slots in the evenings, it's not fair, we want the same times as the guys". I'm not even joking. I decided to join and found out it was founded by women and only had women members. Amentep Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 (edited) A good starter for ten would be to observe and respect basic property rights and freedom of association - and tell non-members to set up their own club. Why would they do that, when he points out that they didn't exclude women from their club (and presumably they would still take members*)? "We never excluded women, but noone was intertested in joining us." Then he says that later women came and I guess instead of wanting them to join at that time, he wants them to create their own club. It's a little unclear there. *Its possible they were closed to new membership, but its not specified and it seems like something a thriving organization wouldn't do. Ah okay, mkreku clarified. Seems like they'd have done something differently legally. Edited June 7, 2013 by Amentep I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? Yet I must - but I cannot! ~ Ro-Man
Gfted1 Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 So if some guy who was not part of that original founding group wants to play, does he have to build everything from the ground up? Its obviously different in Sweden but if someone wants to join a private club you generally don't get to walk in the door and demand half of everything. I think I understand the point, the issue being the ladies wanted practice time on a government funded field that the men had built? The salient question is not who built it but who has the legal right to use the field ? My understanding is the field was funded by the government so I don't see the issue with people who pay taxes from using it but I may be missing something? Chilloutman Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 I am for equal rights for everyone BUT if 90% of backers are man (my guess) , I dont see why 50% of game should be focused around what womens (and White Knights) want. But I am ok if there will be no boobs around, we still have internets for porn right? little offtopic I laughted my ass of when EU decide that there will be norm that 50% of manager positions in companies have to be womens. Can you imagine it? That you as guy work your ass off for many years to gain your position and then some idiot in parlament decide that you have to ocupy positions in company by incopetent workers just because some feminist **** cant find job (probably because she can only talk trash and become politic) Sorry for my rubish english I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing "I'm an Oscar Meyer Wiene"

Hurlshort Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 It should not be a shock that a group of ladies do not want to play a competitive sport with a bunch of men. Men are aggressive in your face jerks while women are more passive aggressive and prefer to talk behind each other's backs. Obviously there are exceptions to the rule. Given mrkreku's attitude toward the women, I'm guessing they put together a club, requested practice and playing times at the field, and were denied. So they went the legal route. It's a pretty typical story. My hockey rink, which has more clubs running out of it than any other in the US, has all sorts of scheduling issues like this. We have adult leagues, over 35 leagues, female leagues, and junior hockey. My game times suck. But they are also actively trying to bring girls into the sport, which as a father with a young daughter, I appreciate immensely. Anyways, we've clearly strayed away from the topic at hand.
alanschu Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 I'm curious how Kreia would have been received if she was virtually the exact same character, by a more ostensibly "attractive" character. Heck, even keep the same voice and every other trait... just make her model an attractive one. Kreia was attractive, to me at least, strong, intelligent and motivated. The fact that she remains cloaked and hooded throughout is obviously a thematic element, she is in a sense hiding. Personally one suspects that she would regard revealing clothing and such as rather childish, a blunt and obvious form of manipulation and pandering. By attractive I more meant physically. Sorry I thought that was clear.
Keyrock Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Affirmative action always strips away talent and ability in favor of filling quotas. Its a nice though if poorly implemented. In theory it's supposed to bring about equality and fairness, in practice it's the very definition of discrimination. Two wrongs don't make a right, and all that jazz. Back on topic, LadyCrimson, what's your attitude toward assless chaps? That one is sort of unisex, works on both genders. obyknven Posted June 7, 2013 Author Posted June 7, 2013 (edited) Girls from Future TRPG? Ooh, so that means in the future we'll get some games with a distinctly Arabic/Persian/Middle Eastern feel? Cool, I'm sick of the pseudo medieval European setting. In the future we'll get some games with a distinctly life-hating/sexy-banned/theocratic feel. This fashion is not Arabic/Persian/Middle Eastern, but created by European colonialist especially for Middle Eastern people. Actually this is noting more than localized Puritan "Christianity". If you observe old photos and paintings from this region 100 years ago you find their culture completely different. Persian Same situation in Arabic culture also [link removed] They do this not only on Middle East, but in whole world - Namibia, India, Indonesia, Filipino, etc. Sexual revolution of 60-s fix this harm, but now this sh**t happen again. mkreku Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 When things turned sour, I was no longer involved in the club, as I had left town to study at a university. Just remember, this was done in a small village where a group of boys got together and actually accomplished something. The whole thing grew from a field for playing football to an organized club for training and finally a government funded indoor hall. I am all for equal rights (everyone should have equal worth and right in society as a whole, and we are very good at this in Sweden), but this really is a case of getting something for nothing. It's very easy to come in after someone has done all the work and demand to get stuff for free. Is that equality though? Anyhow, the entire point of this example of Swedish insanity was: instead of demanding boobs to be removed and every game having equal parts male and female fantasies, do something yourself. Don't just demand things from others, contribute yourselves. Make the games you enjoy instead of demanding they change the games others may enjoy. 4 Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
Walsingham Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 I'm going to come in from another angle: Is the problem really boobs? Surely it would be far more pertinent to observe that in almost every mainstream game I can think of women are PRECISELY equal to men in terms of game stats. That's a pretty positive thing, I'd have thought. The problem I'd highlight is how many games have really ****ty female NPCs. 2 "It wasn't lies.
