Krios Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 (edited) I think a pack of trading cards is cool. I am not really interested in the card game itself, rather I see the cards as a collection of game art. Hope that gets added! Edited October 8, 2012 by Krios
playdude92 Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 I got 2 ideas for additional classes: - Alchemist: A crafty, intelligent and educated yet vulnerable "specialist". His specialties are poisoning enemys with various effects by throwing flasks at them, creating helpfull yet dangerous portions with "special effects" for allies and playing mind tricks on enemies, charming, confusing, or scaring them. He should only be able to use staffs to defend himself if necesarry. - Monk: Intelligent and educated like the Alchemist but also, unlike the Alchemist, quick-fooded, resilient and only effective in close combat. He fights by stunning, overwhelming and crippling enemies with kicks and punches and is most effective in a duo with a warrior. Any effects ment to influence his mind have less effect on him, because he´s trained to focus. He can also learn comlete resistence to most poisons mind-influencing spells. The monk is the most consistent part of any team, reliable and effective
Merin Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 (edited) Also, I don't get the "adventurer's tavern." Just let people load a custom party and don't bother with it please. I'd rather the in-game content was more focused and in my mind the adventurer's tavern is a way to waste resources (devs, artists, etc.) that could be going to improve the actual game content and game on a problem that could be solved by using character creation 6 times and take like 30 minutes of 1 developer's time. For some of us it's a major selling point. You would have to be a fan of the Icewind Dale games to appreciate it though. BIG selling point for me. - Monk: Intelligent and educated like the Alchemist but also, unlike the Alchemist, quick-fooded, resilient and only effective in close combat. Adding the possibility for us to have both BG and IWD style companions in one game is brilliant. Everybody wins. Er, IWD didn't have that. It had exactly what khango is suggesting, so not sure quite what your point is.
Frisk Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 To me, the most valuable addition would be anything that increases replayability value. If I play the game through twice, with different companions, will my experience be sufficiently different the second time? I would like to see companion/class/race/gender-specific side-quests, encounters and areas. I would also like to see interactions between my companions and any other "small" details that will make it worthwhile to re-play the game. A few of my old tools

Strange contraptions and steam powered robots and primitive explosives <3 There's no industrialization in Eternity. It was confirmed that the technological level is around the 15th century Right, no steam-powered machinery. But that doesn't preclude magic-based power systems in some societies. Magitech wouldn't necessarily have led to development of the the mass production line, but it could be engaged for the construction of large structures, powering some types of transport, for building animated religious edifices, and for the original purpose of the steam engine: pumping water out of mines. In fact the presence of magic-based power may derail the development of the steam engine for a period of time. Not sure what that has to do with the tinker class, but it's interesting to think about... at least to me. Bloody Hypocrite Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 $200 Physical tier with a softback artbook and I'm there. $140 is already way more than I should be spending right now, but I will do it for you crazy cats.
playdude92 Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 (edited) Since you announced a full expansion, why not let people add it to their pledges (whatever those might be) for 20 $ ? That´s assuming this expansion will cost around 30 $ retail price. Edited October 9, 2012 by playdude92
Labadal Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Since you announced a full expansion, why not let people add it to their pledges (whatever those might be) for 20 $ ? That´s assuming this expansion will cost around 30 $ retail price. An expansion is not a sure thing. It'll be a bonus you get for that tier, but they can't garantuee anything. That's why they will probably not add it as an add-on. 1
Spess Merhenn Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Shirts should be available for sale after the Kickstarter ends. I've pledged as much as I can afford off my October 15th paycheck, but would be very eager to order a shirt with my October 30th check. There is no such thing as a plea of innocence in my court. A plea of innocence is guilty of wasting my time. Guilty.

hideo kuze Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 (edited) Mouse pad... any chance to replace that with a keychain using the PE uroboros? PLEASE? I just regret reminding myself of this now... A PE uroboros keychain... it... it... it would be.... THAT WOULD BE SO COOL! If not, any chance to add the keychain to the higher tiers? >= 165$ (it could make 140$ raise their pledge) If the keychain were to replace the mousepad it could be a cheaper one (plastic ember encasing an uroboros pic). If it were to come with the higher tiers (>= 140$) then it could be a higher quality keychain (metalic uroboros, hopefully using some material that doesn't get rusty easily). can we have it? BTA51 Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 I'm pretty sure that putting in the expansion as a possible add-on will make a lot of people add that to their pledge.
Piccolo Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 It's been suggested a few times already I think, but I really like the idea of signed and framed artwork as a higher tier backer reward.
IchigoRXC Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 The problem with having the expansion as an add on is that a lot of people will increase their pledge, which gives money to the KS which they have vowed would be spent solely on the main game only. The money from sales post launch and from obsidians coffers are what will pay for the development of the expansion, and to recoup that money they need to sell the expansion to us post kickstarter, if most already own it, it will be harder to recoup money spent on the expansion. They are a business after all and I am sure this is their worry. 2 Legendary Weapons Made By You - A post about weapon customisation and creating your own legendary items Magic Spell Customisation - A post about adapting spells to fit your style, making news ones from old $4million+ raised, I think our jobs here are done.
rjshae Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 (edited) I hope they have a Ball and Chain of Grumbling item. It's intelligent, but all it does is whine about what's in the Kickstarter pledge levels. Joking, of course. Yeah, I brought it up as well, but looking at the amount of stuff Obsidian has added already, I don't really see this happening. Exile in Torment
Rabain Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 I wonder if it would be possible to get tshirts earlier than 2014...though I know there will be issues with the postage costs of two mailings. Even if there is just an option to get another tshirt from an online store or whatever after the KS, waiting until game release seems like a bit too long. I would like to get my tshirt now and be a walking advertisement for Obsidian and Project Eternity for the next 18 months.
