C2B Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 (edited) PA Report Edited September 27, 2012 by C2B 7
kirottu Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Brennecke is my new hero. This post is not to be enjoyed, discussed, or referenced on company time.
Shardbearer Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 (edited) This art style... I like. More and more with each release. I like how the gun looks, knowing its single shot and yet it looks like it packs a wallop! Edited September 27, 2012 by Shardbearer 1 Herald of the Obsidian Order
Ieo Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Great, it even has a visible nipple bulge. How 'typical' in a bad way. I guess guys really need their boob plate, huh. (Yes, I know plenty of guys aren't into that either.) Well, at least her midriff isn't visible. 1 The KS Collector's Edition does not include the Collector's Book. Karranthain Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Brennecke told me he saw the first screenshot of the game the day we spoke. Even he was impressed. “It looks amazing.” Here's hoping we'll see that soon Not a big fan of the concept art though, I must say I've liked the previous better.
Shadenuat Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Ohiboobplate. Long time no see. And here I hoped at least some artists can avoid fantasy-art brainwashing, but alas, they continue to fail their Will-check when it comes to armor plausibility. 4
yulva Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 This art style... I like. More and more with each release. I like how the gun looks, knowing its single shot and yet it looks like it packs a wallop! I loved the dwarven ranger. But IMHO, this and Edair are pretty meh. 1
norolim Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Yea. I'm not really sure about this concept art either... 1
C2B Posted September 27, 2012 Author Posted September 27, 2012 (edited) I like em' very much. The hair and faces especially. Actually more than the Dwarven Ranger Not a fan of the boob plate though. Edited September 27, 2012 by C2B 1
Sensuki Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 (edited) Cool although inb4 cries about boob-plate edit: doh! Edited September 27, 2012 by Sensuki
LordCrash Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 I like em' very much. The hair and faces especially. Actually more than the Dwarven Ranger Not a fan of the boob plate though. Why? Sometimes it occurs that women have boobs, you know......
Pofski Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 boob plate or no, artistic liberty. It's a useless discussion. Personally I prefer the dwarf ranger, but it's still nicely done.
Gfted1 Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Im curious about whats the issue with the above version of "boobplate". Female breasts extend out from the body (some more than others) and would require an accommodating suit of plate mail to fit properly, no? Or is the general consensus that regardless of breast size, all plate mail should be flat and just pancake the breasts? "I'm your biggest fan, Ill follow you until you love me, Papa"
TrashMan Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Interesting. I do have one hope for the game (after hearing that it's about life and death), and that is that it doesn't end up being too metaphysical and preachy or too weird (the last thing I want is a NGE like mindf***k). And that it doesn't demistify souls and afterlife. * YOU ARE A WRONGULARITY FROM WHICH NO RIGHT CAN ESCAPE! *Chuck Norris was wrong once - He thought HE made a mistake!
J.E. Sawyer Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 It's the consensus of armorers that because breastplates are already layered on top of significant padding and because breastplates are designed to slide blows cleanly away from vital areas, that designing a steel breastplate to follow the contours of breasts is unnecessary and counterproductive. 31 twitter tyme
Pofski Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 I think it would prolly be better to ask the women what they would actually prefer. And like Gfted1 said, some ladies could have a bit more filling up there that would make it extremely uncomfortable I think. Will ask the next women in full plate armor I run in to. 1
Olauron Mor-Galad Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Nice art. There is something familiar in her face and in her eyes. Meredith, you? Ok, I'm kidding. A little bit. Dwarven ranger is drawn in another style. I would like portraits like dwarven ranger. But I would like UI paperdoll like Cadegund and Edair.

I read a good article about it by an actual armorer here: http://madartlab.com/2011/12/14/fantasy-armor-and-lady-bits/ One reason is that there's actually quite a bit of padding worn under armor, so there's more room than you think inside. 5 Herald of the Obsidian Order
curryinahurry Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 (edited) I Like it. The boob plate I'm indifferent to, but I like the details; gun, cowl, gauntlets. Like Edair, its a solid, realistic foundation to build from. Good stuff Oh, and I like the expression she has, a bit snarky Edited September 27, 2012 by curryinahurry
Shadenuat Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 By the way, it's not only boobplate, but what's beneath it seems wrong too. Is that supposed to be a mail? Because mail... does't really look like that, it seems she rather has sort of batman-rubber like undersuit than a mail. Female breasts extend out from the body (some more than others) and would require an accommodating suit of plate mail to fit properly, no? *headdesk* 1
Aedelric Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 At least she is wearing plate that covers, I am only ever bothered when they happen to be metal bikinis.

And like Gfted1 said, some ladies could have a bit more filling up there that would make it extremely uncomfortable I think. If someone's uncomfortable on the chest area, you would probably magnify the chest part rather than giving it the shape of female breasts. Not to mention her breasts would have to be as large as watermelons. Edited September 27, 2012 by yulva 1
Shadenuat Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 I think it would prolly be better to ask the women what they would actually prefer. To keep their incesties inside their bodies, probably. Which means designing a plate to deflect blows, not to lead them right in the chest. But I am a fencing weeaboo, so forgive my ramble.
Pofski Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Liked that link Shardbearer. Was a good read.
