Deraldin
If any of you wants to play Magicka with a another player and I'm on steam, feel free to ask.. I'm somewhat of a veteran, so I might not be as much as fun as other new players - killing each other and being confused is half the fun. Don't tell them that! Now they'll think you killed them on purpose!
Calax
Played some old republic last night where I had one of the most hilarious deaths on my knight. Get to the final boss in the Hammer Station flashpoint (basically you go in to deactivate a former superweapon that gets jacked by a minor state... it throws asteroids) and I LEAP IN as our tank starts the fight (might have been yelling DYNAMIC! ENTRY! as I did). I land and slash and the guy moves just a little bit so we end up back to back. Then he triggers an ability that knocks everyone away from him, and I get thrown right off the cliff into the firing mechanism of the superweapon. In game terms this means that he basically pitched me off a cliff so I got a little scream audio then respawned outside and spent the rest of the fight running back.... but if we play it "straight" there's now a planet that's got a rather large crater from a meteor, with Jedi DNA strewn about. Drowsy Emperor
Board games. Because PC gaming sucks now. The last thing I played was Orcs Must Die and that was forgettable filler (although fun). The only thing I played in 2011 that I can even recall was Gemini Rue. Hurlshort
Played a bit of Saints Row 3 last night, its awesome and an insane, just like the previous iteration. I modified a car, bought some real estate, put on some new clothes, got a new tattoo, and used an electrified sledgehammer to blow up a car. It was a fun hour of gameplay. I need to find a plastic surgeon though, my character looks like a gorilla.

I can't tell if the folk at Volition are geniuses or morons (guess that makes them hipsters) but this game it's awesome. I'd say the answer to that question is kind of like the answer to "who's the sucker in this poker game?"* *If you can't tell, it's you.

I went into Saints Row 2 with a similar expectation, thinking it was just going to be a GTA clone. But it is a masterful satire piece, and I've found I stuck with SR2 way longer than GTA4. So far SR3 has not disappointed, I imagine I'll be playing it for a long time to come.
Starwars
Replaying Planescape: Torment. I can't say enough about how this game draws me in. Even after playing it before and obviously knowing the story, the twists and turns, finding out about your past identities, doing the Circle of Zerthimon etc etc... It's just excellent. And there are smaller touches that I just love... There is nothing more satisfying to me than revealing some important thing in the dialogue, hearing that "schiwwwwiiing" sound and seeing the huge amount of xp you just gained from being inquisitive and investigating things. Drowsy Emperor
Planescape Torment is gaming's best attempt and probably sole success at art. Honourable mentions go to: Shadow of the Collossus, Homeworld, Baldur's Gate II. I'd pay good money for a collectors edition bundled with a real book and the Planescape campaign setting. Something to proudly display on my shelf instead of the embarrassingly ugly game box. GhostofAnakin
I'm still plugging along with Arkham City. It's weird, I have more trouble with the leaping/gadgets puzzles than I do taking on the bosses in fights. I've beaten pretty much every boss without much effort, yet it took me forever to figure out the one area where I needed to throw a remote baterang through an electric converter, then swing it around and smash it into a power box to open a gate. That, and that stupid section of gliding/diving for Ra's Al Ghul gave me the most trouble. Hassat Hunter
Freelancer, after I had to format once, so while the gamefiles were kept, the registry entries weren't. Which is no issue in most games or require immediate re-install, but Freelancer got an odd twist... It's fonts are too big! Critical data like my speed, booster charge just fall off, on the map names overlap and more of such oddity. Or did I overlooked something else causing this. Guess I should just re-install... ^ I agree that that is such a stupid idiotic pathetic garbage hateful retarded scumbag evil satanic nazi like term ever created. At least top 5. GhostofAnakin
The main storyline quest in Arkham City seemed incredibly short ... it seems the sidequests/challenges are what makes up the bulk of the things to do in this game. GhostofAnakin
that's the norm anymore Eh, I've just finished off a couple of games which fall into the "action" category in RE5 and Assassin's Creed, and both had main stories that seemed much longer than Arkham City's. I wasn't expecting a 50 hour epic, but it seemed like there were 4 or 5 quick things to do in the main story, then it's done. Everything happens in 1 night, so what did you expect? :D One night is 12 hours long (dusk til dawn). The stuff I did in the main story seemed to take about 2 or 3 hours, tops. A ten hour main story is perfect, going over that is unnecessary, just like a movie over two hours. It's great that they supply all the side stuff so those who want more out of the game can do so without the game dragging. Assassin's Creed is also a great example of a game that dragged. Dark Forces 2 is great...well...the shooting and hopping parts. Always seem to have trouble with the first person lightsaber fights. Jedi Knight II did it better with the third person perspective. Now those were some awesome battles!!!
Tale
The platforming is terrible. You can do third person on the lightsaber fights and that's not any good either. Outcast wasn't particularly better, since it always seemed completely random. There's no real feedback or control over it. "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."
