Morgoth Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 (edited) I wanted to see if my Xbox still worked, so I started it up and bought an indie game called Dead Pixels. Sort of a side-scrolling 2D RPG. It was fun, but it was over in 3 hours! Glad to see that red ring inducing piece of sh..tech still worked though. Remember, the 360 version of Dark Souls is a port. From Software is only making the PS3 version, while the 360 port is handled by Bandai Namco. The fact that they've never shown the 360 version to the public is...suspicious, to say at least. In other words, brace yourself for an inferior version. Edited September 27, 2011 by Morgoth Rain makes everything better.
Majek Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Erm the X360 version was playable at Tokyo game show and at Eurogamers Expo in London. <_< http://www.bodycount.de/ds/images.html 1.13 killed off Ja2.

In other words, brace yourself for an inferior version. That would be the second or third game that is inferior on the x360 in any quantifiable way. (Let me qualify that by saying that I'll still take a PS3 version over x360, if at all possible). You're a cheery wee bugger, Nep. Have I ever said that? Reapercussions

(Let me qualify that by saying that I'll still take a PS3 version over x360, if at all possible). "Problem" is, some games are very big. And with Dark Souls, you have virtually one big world that you can't chop up into 2 or 3 disks. That works with Mass Effect, but Dark Souls isn't that sort of game. So of course Bandai was forced to pack DS onto a single disk for 360, which I presume will mean loss in audio quality and maybe worse textures. Since Microsoft policy doesn't allow multiple-disk full installs only, 360 gamers are getting the shaft. I wonder who came up with the stupid idea there to ship 360 SKUs without a hard drive in the first place... Rain makes everything better.

Gizmo Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 (edited) A friend of mine was playing Fantasy Wars on Steam and it seemed interesting so gave it a go. Only managed to play the first map last night (had to get that Gold level finish) but it seems like great turn based strategy game. http://store.steampowered.com/app/63900/ I picked that one up from GoG a while back. It looks interesting; (though some of the monsters in it are pretty goofy lookin'). *There is a price difference too it seems. http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/fantasy_wars Edited September 27, 2011 by Gizmo

More often that not the PS3 version disc size = x360 disc size, unfortunately, but your point still stands. You're a cheery wee bugger, Nep. Have I ever said that? Reapercussions
mkreku Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 I don't know how much you actually paid for it, I assume 80MS points... Hell even at 240MS points I think 3 hrs content isn't so bad. I didn't mean I felt shafted, I meant it was fun so I wanted more of it. Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
Tale Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 I'm having trouble deciding between Drakensang: The River of Time or one of the D&D games from the recent GOG sale I haven't played yet, IWD or TOEE. "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."
Gizmo Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 I'm having trouble deciding between Drakensang: The River of Time or one of the D&D games from the recent GOG sale I haven't played yet, IWD or TOEE. The story in ToEE seems a bit bland (so far), but it has to be the best 3.5 D&D rules of any game out there. Its got 3d Sprites too, and some interesting NPCs that can join. ~Look for the Circle of Eight patches though. Troika was prohibited from releasing another patch. There are still bugs after the official patch.

GhostofAnakin Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 MM6, MM7, NHL 12, and NWN. Worth the purchase? I'm playing a season of NHL11, and I'm not sure I want to pay full price for roster updates. Malcador Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 (edited) Felt like replaying Max Payne, but it doesn't like Win7. Bleh. Well got it working, so 'ere we go. Volourn Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 NHL 12 is a worthwhile update if you play online otherwise it's just same game but with some extra features like usual. DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250.
Bokishi Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Shadowgun on my iPad 2, graphics are insane almost on par with Xbox 360! Current 3DMark
Walsingham Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Failing to connect with Red Orchestra 2. I put many many hours into the first game, but something's off now. Maybe I'm just too old for stampeding about the place. Interestingly I've also gone off Total War. Which is very unexpected. "It wasn't lies. Morgoth Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Screw that. I only used the search function, that's why I got that link. Actually, it's all DS stuff. Rain makes everything better.

I've not tried it, yet I liked Elven Legacy. Does any of you played both games and can compare ?

trulez Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Man, Max Payne is so dated it's agonizing to play...So true, I managed 67 minutes (according to Steam) before I quit. Judging by the screenshots I found on Steam the Elven Legacy looks EXACTLY like Fantasy Wars, just with different units.
Malcador Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Was actually a lame attempt at humour there. Is pretty fun to play, for the 4th or 5th time now, heh. FIFA 12 is out soon, so might get that. Or just replay FIFA 11 and build my team's roster accordingly. Why has elegance found so little following?
