That would be great. I just wonder is LA going to make more special editions, or at least thinking about doing more. If they are, I doubt they are going to let GOG sell the originals now.

I REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY hope they are the originals, just played via DOSBox or ScummVM, only in that I am one of the very small group of people that actually own a Roland MT-32 and I can play the old games in all it's original musical awesomeness. <3 <3 <3

So, Gog is (presumably) going to get xcoms, finally. Rather ridiculous that every single digital distributor except the old games specialist had them.

 

You can get a good idea which titles of EAs are likely coming by the cease and desists they are (and have been) sending out to abandonware sites over the past month or so.

Indeed. If I had to guess... I think The Ultima Collection as well as the Wing Commander series just might be coming to GOG.... *cough*

The entire LGS collection would be a nice addition.

 

Also cool would be Bullfrog's games and quite a few Westwood classics.

 

EA has been sitting on the biggest pile of PC gaming classics for years, the bastards.

 

Syndicate, Terra Nova, Ultima Underworld, and Blade Runner would be a nice start.

I've bought about 40... I only use GoG and Steam for PC games now. I even own alot of the stuff on disc that I've bought off GoG.

 

Truth is, I hate disc's because I'm fat and lazy.

Bullfrog games would be fancy. Dungeon Keeper, Theme Hospital and so on.

I played Theme Hospital again a couple of years ago, rather simple but great fun and pretty funny. I remember not getting into Dungeon Keeper at all but Bullfrog would definitely be nice to see.

Monkey Island 1&2 got re-released with upgraded engines as special editions.

 

Got them both, and would get the special editions of Sam & Max Hit the Road and Day of the Tentacle instantly.

I guess there's less value in it because unlike the later games, the first two Monkey Island games were not voiced. I see a lot less to be gained by remaking the later fully voiced games, and indeed redoing their quirky and charming art styles might be a net negative. I suppose this applies to the CD releases of Loom and Indy4 as well, although in those cases there's a bit more room for movement on the graphics front.

 

 

Slightly less popular suggestion, but I'd like to play the Heroes Chronicles series one day - on release it was viewed as cheap opportunistic tripe I know, but the more HoMM3-engined campaigns I can play, the better.

Ah, so basically after a remake... Meh, Loom probably wasn't popular enough.

Portal 2 has been released by pirate groups today.

 

Here's hoping the official release is today!

Eurogamer say it's possible they might release it on Steam tonight.

That would be amazing.

DA2 finished 4th in March sales according to NPD getting beat, of course, by Pokeman.

That's not how it works. It works similar to other distributed computing systems like folding@home. The number of users speeds up the process. It is not a total = progress system, but a total = rate system.
