What has science done, besides ensuring that my 50's will be fondly remembered before I die. God bless the United Kingdom. There was a time when I questioned the ability for the schizoid to ever experience genuine happiness, at the very least for a prolonged segment of time. I am no closer to finding the answer, however, it has become apparent that contentment is certainly a realizable goal. I find these results to be adequate, if not pleasing. Unfortunately, connection is another subject entirely. When one has sufficiently examined the mind and their emotional constructs, connection can be easily imitated. More data must be gleaned and further collated before a sufficient judgment can be reached.

While I will have to learn more about exactly what they are attempting, my first, gut reaction is that they should proceed with great caution and make sure to watch out for radical assassins. "Geez. I'd say dignity, but I'm guessing that went when you cosplayed Tenchi Muyo's Ryo-ohki at that anime convention. SteveThaiBinh
It's only embryos. Why not? People worried that test-tube babies would be a Pandora's Box, but it hasn't happened. I think proceeding with caution is the right thing to do, and this research will be heavily monitored and regulated by the government. "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." Moatilliatta
They will proceed with caution whether they are government-surveyed or not as they will have many eyes on them looking for slipups and I presume that scientists want to create names for them in the good sense and not the bad one. I too am not worried.

With food crisis the world is presently facing, unfortunately its the fastest and efficient method (With unknown consequence) to be a viable solution without facing prolonged mass starvation. GM food are common in Singapore to the point there is no need to brand them as GM food. So far, nothing tragic happended to any of us yet. Archmonarch
I've been following this for a few years, and as far as I understand it, the scientists will only be performing experiments on and testing the viability of stem cells extracted from the embryos. None will be allowed to develop to term (not that they could survive that long anyway). We avoid a furry revolution for a few years more.
