Dark_Raven
Starbuck in the new one is one of my favorite characters... I love girls who could snap me in two <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Boomer is teh sexy, too: smart, strong women. mmmmm. And, Yes, gorramit!, after watching the "extras" on the BSG miniseries (i.e. the making of featurette), my cherished memories of the original series had their rose-tinting cruelly stripped. I watched the series again, then went out and bought the first season. And the writing gets much, much better towards the end of the first season ... so much so that I was pleasantly affirmed and even occassionally surprised with the plot ... and now I might have to go and buy the second series ... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Lee Adama aka Jamie Bamber Show me a thing or two fly boy. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
Musopticon?
The Three Hundred I really don't understand how there's no thread about this. It's Frank Miller ffs, I'd think there'd at least be a couple of hate topics about or whinings of ahistoricality. Pidesco
Scorcese wasn't even nominated for Taxi Driver. The Academy is laughable. I think Rocky won that year (1976/7?). Diogo Ribeiro
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That image is awesome. Where's it from? Not that I care, I'm stealing it anyway. Since I'm working afternoons I only catch night shows, and Portugania is pretty crappy when it comes to show schedules. Basically the only shows I watch now are: House, M.D. - the medical gibberish the characters exchange between each other is wasted on the likes of me, so I'm glad they sometimes explain in layman's terms what actually is happening ("quick, give him 20ccs of plestopornamignhuloiopeanduemoxiecyclotroniciacide - or he'll tell amish jokes for the rest of the episode!"); but I can't help loving Hugh Laurie and Robert Sean Leaonard so that basically is why I watch it. The Shield - been following this one almost religiously. great drama series and pretty much one of the best cop shows ever, even those I haven't seen. Michael Chiklis rocks long and hard. Here in Portugistan, I think it's around the ending of the 2nd season. 24 - Jack Bauer, man. Jack Bauer. I'm also trying to get glimpses of Help Me and Carnivale. Still, 2 great seasons! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sing it loud, sistah!!! Actually if you do some digging on the internet you can pretty much fill in the blanks up to the point where the series regrettably ends. I wish I had the link handy, but I found a site where they pretty much sum up the whole avatar/Omega business in ways people can actually understand. It's still one of the most original shows ever made, IMO. Jaguars4ever is still alive. No word of a lie.

metadigital
So stories that deal with unattractive concepts and unlikeable anti-heroes aren't fit for films? What a grey life you must lead. jodo kast 5
What I DO hate is Battlestar Galactica. It's nothing like the originals, too much drama, and they replaced some of the named male characters with females.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why would female leads bother you? It is now standard procedure for women to be deployed in the frontline, so it makes sense that our fiction mirrors societal realities. Also, good, strong female leads are much more interesting to watch than lots of men running around pretending to be space-heroes. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's not the females and them fighting in the war against the Cylons that bother me, it's just that they changed the character's genders and literally a ripped it off of the old BSG. They couldve put forward alittle effort and easily made new names for the female characters. That and I just don't like the storyline, it was more fit for the old one than the current BSG. They couldve atleast made a new storyline(As I remember, the BSG crew actually did find Earth, but decided against populating it for fear that the Cylons would follow their trail and literally decimate Earth, since our technology is far more primitive than theirs and even one Battlestar couldn't defend against an entire fleet of Cylon Base Ships, which the Cylons would most likely send to Earth for a full scale invasion, though I think in one episode of the old version, they were pretty much destroyed in a big battle.) or new enemies(A mutinous crew and fake human androids Cylons? Come on...). Edited October 10, 2006 by jodo kast
