It must be D&D based ? Hey @BruceVC, the studio is owned by Wizards Digital (the new name for Wizards of the Coast), so the studio is not just working on a Wizards game. Also, it is supposed to be a sci fi-fantasy game, so not D&D or M:TG. Some entirely new IP Wizards is creating, where the CEO of Wizards recently mentioned that given how successful the company is right now they want to create a few entirely new IPs. 1

But, that is why I'm interested. For anyone wondering, there is a closed beta for Call of Saregnar but seeing as that trailer is from 3 years ago and the project's only survived because of Petron support, the game's probably still a long ways off. 1
Hurlshort Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 That game looks very interesting, but I always worry about 1 man teams being able to finish the product.

Wormerine Posted March 29, 2021 Posted March 29, 2021 Gamedec won't be out for couple next months but there is demo you can play. It should be up until game releases in September. 1 1
Wormerine Posted March 29, 2021 Posted March 29, 2021 @melkathiReception so far hasn't been amazing, but not entirely negative. Seems like a "wait for sale" title. I am glad I cancelled my pre-order couple days ago, when no reviews dropped early. 1
melkathi Posted March 29, 2021 Posted March 29, 2021 Eh, he doesn't sound like he understood the game? Or the genre. It is a base building game a la Dungeon Keeper. You build, so you can build more cool stuff and have build something great that works more or less. Like Anno or Caesar games. What kind of criticism is "You defeat all opponents the same way, by having your minions beat them up or through traps" ? It is like complaining that in a first person shooter you shoot opponents instead of challenging them to poker or match 3 games for variety. The game may still end up being too shallow. The original was rather shallow and mostly grabbed people through theme. But this review hasn't given me anything to consider. The fact that minions sent out to the world do not come back, that sounds a bit sad - though I'll have to see if it is actually the case and they changed the system or whether he just didn't notice that minions can be lost but aren't always (just as in the first game). 1 Unobtrusively informing you about my new ebook (which you should feel free to read and shower with praise).

I mean, a complaint that enemy system is shallow is a legit complaint - securing your base against enemy attacks does sound interesting. It wasn't the only one review I watched (ACG has been my go-to for a while now as he tends to give me a good idea of what to expect - though I would agree that this type of game isn't his forte) none of which was terribly enthusiastic. I have a bad habit of buying managemenet games and not playing them. Planet Zoo was my most recent mistake.

Lexx Posted March 30, 2021 Posted March 30, 2021 I mean, it's also exactly what you did in Dungeon Keeper. Build your base, recruit monsters, train them, ambush the invading heroes. That's pretty much it. 1 "only when you no-life you can exist forever, because what does not live cannot die."
