Mortal Kombat XI will be my most probable bet.

I'm fine with that too. I've spent countless hours in online MKX.

Paradox apparently acquired HBS. Or as the HBS guys put it, they've joined the Paradox family.

"Yay" or so.

No mind to think. No will to break. No voice to cry suffering.

Screw it, I can probably just search online real quick. Oh, Harebrained Schemes. Right, those guys.

How I have existed fills me with horror. For I have failed in everything - spelling, arithmetic, riding, tennis, golf; dancing, singing, acting; wife, mistress, whore, friend. Even cooking. And I do not excuse myself with the usual escape of 'not trying'. I tried with all my heart.

In my dreams, I am not crippled. In my dreams, I dance.

I'm curious if they didn't look into acquiring Obsidian when they partnered up. If what ChrisA said was true then they have been looking to sell for a long time.

Feargus probably messed it up in between waltzing through the offices collecting high fives. ;)

HBS is hare-brained schemes (Shadowrun/Battletech devs)

I suspect that Obsidian is too rich for Paradox's blood even at this point, pretty sure that despite their recent growth and being a publisher it would still more than double their employees.

As for Chris's predictions, they haven't exactly got a 100% result rate. Has the senior staff member and lots of employees who were leaving imminently a month ago left yet? And that was about his safest statement, given a game has just shipped and people always leave after a game ships.

So now you probably know who's going to be developing RPGs for Paradox now. That's the not completely terrible part of this news. The rest... yeah.

Oh well, at least I got my Kickstarter money's worth, via GOG key. The odds of either being the case again with HBS, not so good.

Does this mean that the next HBS game will have 27,000 DLCs?  :shifty:

Red Dead Redemption's anti-consumer pre-order bonus is 3 hours worth of content. It will not sell sepeeately later, add to that, it is only available if you buy the special and ultimate versions version of the game.

This put a huge smile on my face because anti-prepurchase cultist can not do a damn thing lmao

Just what do you think you're doing?! You dare to come between me and my prey? Is it a habit of yours to scurry about, getting in the way and causing bother?

What are you still bothering me for? I'm a Knight. I'm not interested in your childish games. I need my rest.

Begone! Lest I draw my nail...

Interesting.

You're being happy because you are getting shafted? To each his own...

Civilization, in fact, grows more and more maudlin and hysterical; especially under democracy it tends to degenerate into a mere combat of crazes; the whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary. - H.L. Mencken

When companies pull **** like that, I just wait out the title dropping it's price or buy used.

I'm not buying full priced day 2 only to loose out on value.

I guess it works because most consumer's are highly ill-informed.

I won't be buying it either. Strangely, I don't think it's wrong for me to say that the game's sales will dwarf The Witcher 3's and GTA5's anyway and this anti-consumer act will not even decrease sales a bit :(

RDR2 is my most anticipated game, but I can wait it out. Pre-order only content feels so antiquated, didn't they learn last gen to include that sort of content in every new title to discourage used sales? Well, now they are encouraging used sales. Congratulations Rockstar.

I have yet to see a game that offers pre-order content which you weren't able to buy at a later time.
