  1. Devil was technically dead Concelhaut too, though it's not clear whether he really joined your party.
  2. Doubt it was intentional since there's a bug report on it with a developer reply treating it like a bug. Fingers crossed it'll be fixed soon.
  3. I've decided to hold off playing Deadfire for a while to let the balance changes happen before I get attached to any particular items *cough* Unlabored Blade *cough*. I'll take the time to run through PoE in preparation.
  4. Don't worry, you're not missing out, it's just a pair of Helwaxed Legendary Bittercuts with Corrosive Lashes and Durgan steel enhancements. Nothing major
  5. Currently Berserkers don't. It's almost certainly a bug since there are Berserker versions of all four upgraded Frenzies (Blood Frenzy, Spirit Frenzy, Blood Storm and Spirit Tornado) but they can only actually take Blood Frenzy.
  6. The same can happen to Beodul and Irrena if they die during the fight (Old Engrim and Chiputec aren't there so always survive).
  7. Doubt it, that's not really how they use the beta branch.
  8. Shame, a Unbroken/Monk build using 8m disengagements might have been quite fun
  9. On Steam at least it, and the two White March DLCs, at 40% at the moment. If you want to play Deadfire but have heard it's currently buggy and untuned and you haven't yet played PoE why not take advantage of this deal? That might explain the upturn in sales.
  10. The original argument was that continuing the Watcher's story was an obstacle to new players who hadn't played PoE but, for some reason, the same doesn't apply to the Witcher 3. No one (as far as I understand it) is saying one can't enjoy the Witcher 3 without having played the previous two; they're trying to find out why flamesium thinks it's different for Deadfire.
  11. At least he has big hands. That's gotta count for something right?
  12. The world isn't ready for a Dwarf Companion. I know it's sad, but it's true. Sexy humanoid spider romances on the other hand: Shadow of War has shown we're not only ready, we need them!
  13. Oh good point, the party size has dropped to five. Yeah perhaps. I have no idea what the actual most powerful combination would be. The game's so easy at the moment and there are so many broken combinations that it would be next to impossible to compare.
  14. You need to kill Thaos again to save your White March decisions. The game does actually save after killing him, but it's a hidden save.
  15. Same. So much of the voice acting in BG and (especially) BG2 is stuck in my head (in a good way). If "Ah, the child of bhaal has awoken" doesn't immediately start a sequence of lines in your head in Irenicus's voice then you didn't play BG2 enough (or I played it too much perhaps).
  16. At the moment only Gift from the Machine and Effigies Resentment talents are transferred over, and in those cases you only regain them some time down the main quest.
  17. BG and BG2 had them when travelling between maps. In BG2 there were a couple that led to actual content (slavers and harpers iirc) but the rest were just pointless distractions. EDIT: a reminder: "you have been waylaid by enemies and must defend yourself".
  18. Should be fine. PotD takes a bit of getting used to - suddenly you miss and graze a lot more, and you need to delay some quests/encounters* - but it isn't that hard, and your party looks fine. Just take it slowly and be willing to reload to avoid some quests/encounters and you'll be fine. Once you hit the mid-late game it becomes easier anyway, and only the hardest fights really pose a challenge. Monk's are a fun class to play as long as you don't mind a bit of micro. The advantage of PotD is that you'll build up wounds more quickly (since enemies will tend to do more damage) so will be able to spam your abilities more often. *The one that I always think of is the two Forest Lurkers near the Shrine of Galawain in Black Meadow. On Hard I can beat this fairly easily regardless of my character. On PotD it can be quite hard if you go early depending on your class.
  19. You didn't refer to the other people in this thread as simians. You're not Edwin.
  20. That's sold somewhere else I believe (in Neketaka, though I can't remember exactly where).
  21. That'd be cool, although the way dispositions work for Paladins and Priests would probably have to be changed quite a bit to make it work. I feel like the system was just overused in Deadfire. So often you have five or six options in a conversation, of which only one isn't tagged with a disposition (so if you're trying to role-play a certain way you're often forced to pick up dispositions) and so many NPCs react to your dispositions multiple times in conversations.
