Most people don't play PotD. Nerfing the classes and abilities to satisfy the 10-15% of people who are going to play PotD makes no sense to me considering the one thing everyone has been almost unanimously prasing is the multiclassing cheese. Better to just focus on making PotD harder, without resorting to unfair scenarios or making the enemies into MMO-style damage sponges.

Just wait until you have to upgrade something to Legendary. 60k for Whispers of the Endless Paths. Another 30k before that to bring it up to Superb quality. And still, that's not actually a lot. The game throws money and magic items at you like crazy. I even bought the most expensive ship despite not giving a crap about the naval portion of the game just because I had excess cash. Keep in mind I'm not even at the end game yet.

Eder - good tank, haven't tried the reposte swashbuckler build, but I'll give it a go on my next playthrough. Likeable, but nothing special personality-wise. Xoti - okay priest, bad everything else. I like her character and voice. Aloth - pure wizards are strong and Aloth is no exception. He's a bit uninteresting to me as a person though. Pallegina - a total nag, even worse than she was in PoE 1, but all of her builds are fantastic. Sarafen - I like his personality, but mechanically he sucks. His stats are garbage. Maia - boring personality and I generally don't care much for rangers. Takehu - needs to die in a fire.

"Don't use it" is never a good solution in game design. If a tool is offered to the player, it either needs to be balanced or clearly labelled as a crutch. Telling someone to ignore a part of what the game has to offer is just admitting defeat balance wise. No. Just no. This isn't a multiplayer game. Balancing everything isn't needed. Like that guy said if you don't want to use overpowered abilities, then don't. Nobody is forcing you.

Which race did you choose?
Judicator replied to Eirin's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
I made a death godlike since I was role-playing a champion of Berath anyway. It fits in nicely. The next one will probably be a nature godlike because I like the look with the big beard. -
I, for one, am glad they allowed us to have fun this time with all these crazy abilities and OP multiclass combos instead of the boring over-balanced mechanics of the first game. It reminds me of how broken you could be in BG2. I do agree that PotD should be made harder if only to avoid threads like this in the future.

Played around with the Berserker/Bleak Walker for a bit and yeah, he's pretty freaking strong. Faith and Conviction makes him a tank and mental fortress stops confusion. Also, playing with a Devoted/Bleak Walker. There's some nice synergy between Fighter stances and Paladin auras. Both he and the Berserker/BL got more deflection with a two-hander than Eder does with a shield and Weapon + Shield style, which is kinda insane. I feel like I should have made Eder a rogue or swashbuckler since he's firmly behind both PCs and Pallegina in tankiness. I feel like you should add Barbarian/Soul Blade to that list. The synergy between carnage and ciphers is really good. Paladin/Chanter too due to being the ultimate tank/support. Paladins feel like they go well with most classes due to their versatility and defensive abilities.
