End game total damage done by companions and PC (spoilers)
Watcher (Nature Godlike Evoker) - 411.5k - 369 highest single target Aloth (Wizard) - 89.8k - 211 highest single target Xoti (Priest) - 23.6k - 259 highest Pallegina (Herald) - 65.5k - 236 highest Eder (Swash) - 41.8k - 81 highest Eder is my tank so mostly defensive skills/passives. Xoti is pretty much pure support/healing/auto-attacking (a few blessed harvests here and there). Pallegina was using this build, however I feel if I'd micro'd her better after her opener she would have done much better, but most of my micro went into my Watcher. Aloth was there to basically clean up what my Evoker didn't finish off immediately, and also to cast a few debuffs I didn't want to waste spell casts on (expose vuln, combusting wounds). This is halfway through Fampyr Island, with only final faction quests then Ukaizo left.

Dominate on Priests
thundercleese replied to thundercleese's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)Here's my save. Just head to the Sea-Lashed Crypt, should be pretty easy to get her dominated in that fight. I don't have her (or any of my casters) on a script, so the dominate is definitely applying one to her.

[OPINION] Rangers have the most interesting and balanced martial skills
Coulda sworn I had to wait for recovery after using escape. Though maybe I'm thinking of Smoke Veil lol. The rogues upgrades drastically increase the cost, whereas the rangers keeps it the same. The rogues upgrades are far more impactful though, which makes sense.

Not quite; Evasive Roll has no recovery.

start of the game for melee characters is ass
thundercleese replied to gristlethick's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)My Nature Godlike Evoker was the easiest run through Port Maje I have done to date. Granted I start all my games at lvl4 from Berath's Blessings, which helps. I also had the firethrower gloves from the merchant. It's fairly easy to get to lvl3-4 on Port Maje without any combat outside of the ship fight. And that fight really doesn't matter; if you die it just ends and you wake up on the beach. If your melee is having trouble early game you'll just have to pop on heavy armour and live with the slow recovery speed. The brigandine from the boat should do fine. Also try to make use of any gunpowder barrels you can, they can make some difficult early fights completely trivial (the ones inside the ruins especially). You will need to use either fire-based attacks or firearms to make them explode tho, otherwise it just breaks and leaves a pile of gunpowder on the floor.

Bleak Walker dispositions are aggressive and cruel. Meaning you are "supposed" to take as many of those actions/dialogue options as possible. Not doing so is not only out of character, but you gimp your defenses. The game is easy enough that losing the defenses could be manageable, but would still be "wrong" from a RP perspective.

Xoti as a Pure Monk
Hey man, Blessed Harvest is almost worth all of your patron spells being awful! I mean it isn't, to be clear. But almost! It's amazing to use if a damaged mob peels away from the front line to come after you, usually instant kill. Over 200 damage from a level 1 spell? Yes please!

A few questions about Assassin before I roll one.
(This song gets stuck in my head whenever I equip the item.) Thanks, was fairly certain there was one but as I rarely use them I wasn't sure lol.

phantom pain, secret horrors, mental binding, tenuos grasp
People like silent scream because it's a raw damage AoE that also causes stun. I agree Wizard is probably the strongest class, especially among the casters.

phantom pain, secret horrors, mental binding, tenuos grasp
All PER afflictions cause flanked.

Sanguine Plate (or similar) armor in Deadfire: You know you want it!
thundercleese replied to AndreaColombo's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Yep you are asked to pose as a buyer (or something like that), then get exposed during the meeting and they attack; leader is wearing the plate. Fight happens on bridge into Defiance Bay.

[Final Copy] "The Company Man" Ranged Mindstalker (Assassin/Ascendant) for Heavy Immersion Company RP
According to this thread PL adds +1 accuracy per level above the base. So only -1 in this case. You will also lose 5% additive duration, which may or may not matter depending on the spell.

Ranged Assassin - Possible to set up Backstab?
That would be pretty ridiculous lol. But yeah generally not worth it.

A few questions about Assassin before I roll one.
Should work with Cipher too, I've just got little experience with them in Deadfire, so hopefully someone else can chime in there. For pistol Scordeo's comes to mind, upgrade the action speed buff to apply to everything. Though I guess a pistol with a lash (if one exists, not sure) would probably get more benefit from Assassinate. On that note, I'd say monk comes out on top due to lightning strikes and turning wheel. Dance of death for wounds, would probably take Nalpazca over Helwalker as the extra might quickly becomes insignificant with all the Rogue bonuses (also more free wounds, just watch out for arcane dampener). Also Helwalker/Assassin is about as frail as it gets lol.

A few questions about Assassin before I roll one.
Didn't know Assassin bonus worked on spells, so I suppose if you are fine with empower nuking from stealth then Assassin/Evoker would be the top pick by a fair margin. Only buff spells I used on my pure Evoker were Infuse with Vital Essence (nature godlike) and Merciless Gaze. Just make sure you are stealthed until your tank has all the agro then start nuking, everything should be dead before they can turn their attention to you. Someone posted an Assassin/Bleak Walker build based around Arquebus FoD from stealth for insane alpha strikes. Think it was before all the nerfs though so how viable it is in current patch I'm not sure. Personally for a ranged Assassin I would use Wael's eye, for the invisibility proc, which happens fairly often (I'm far too lazy to micromanage invisibility abilities and potions through every fight lol). Pair it with something that can buff action speed such as monk, barb or wizard for DAoM, probably dual wield with something high damage like a pistol. Believe someone posted a build like this as well.

The Obsidian Boards' Build List - Last modified: 22-October-2018
I would think something more simple like a *POPULAR* tag would work better. Too many people will think of the stars as ratings by default, if they skip over the blurb at the top of your post. This will also reduce your workload, as checking each build on a regular basis to recalculate the stars could get quite tedious. So something like 10+ likes, or 2/3+ pages of discussion earns the popular tag (rough numbers but you get the idea).

Dominate on Priests
thundercleese replied to thundercleese's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)Will post my a save from the Fampyr Island when I get home, should be very easy to replicate there.

Druid Shapeshift question
Druids are also not considered proficient with their shifted weapons, which means you don't want to multi with a Devoted. Not only that, but passives like Weapon Specialization/Mastery (and anything else that specifies proficient weapons) are useless when shifted too.

[bug] HoT and DoT issue
thundercleese replied to dunehunter's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)This is still occurring. Quite broken when you can just launch a Missile Salvo on your tank with mobs grouped around him and he leaves it at full health, while everything else dies instantly.

Xauript Grubmaster spams Marked for the Hunt indefinitely
thundercleese replied to thundercleese's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)Okay so I did a little further testing, and it seems to only happen if there is only one target available. As soon as I send in a second party member, he will apply the Mark to that character then continue with his normal rotation. Also if I send in the whole party he just applies it to two characters then continues straight away. What's interesting though is that there are two grubmasters in this encounter, yet the second one will just apply it twice then move on, regardless of number of combatants. Here's the save: http://www.mediafire.com/file/ccjzl59wyz9gd4a/Tigger_%25287af86177-abb5-49a2-abfa-f59c884672de%2529_autosave_1.savegame/file

Ashen Maw dialogue sequences
thundercleese replied to thundercleese's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)Hi jlee, Unfortunately this was a couple of days ago and didn't make a hard save beforehand. Only thought to post it as I was making some other posts. When my next playthrough reaches this point I will try to remember to upload a save.
