Halo 3 Gone Gold
Of course, I don't know if it sucks when it's played single. Some areas are probably godawful without respawning, but this was Heroic afterall.

Halo 3 Gone Gold
I played the game through on Heroic yesterday in one 10 hour long 2 player co-op session. There's some complaints, some broken promises and a several things that could have been improved, namely story distribution, but as a whole the game beats the second game out of the water: It doesn't feel like a pipe, good illusion there Bungie, there's a great amount of variety in combat and I also never felt like I was walking in a facade - the immersion is just grand. Furthermore, rather than the energy sword twitchfest that the 2nd game was, this one made you use strategy throughout and I constantly kept changing my equpment loadout. The new abilities, aka one time "spells" called "equipment", give yet more depth to the combat. On some levels, like Crow's Nest and Installation 00, bubble shields, regenerators and those godawful energy drainers made us switch from ranged to mid range to melee almost constantly. Add vehicles to that bunch, several which stand out immensely useful, and season the soup with the new enemy types like the constantly evolving new flood(Drone flood is gross and annoying), it is the best console fps ever. Perhaps one of the best fps ever.

The nearest I ever could get into liking mecha was Detonator Orgun. Otherwise the robot genre leaves me pretty stale.

The Comic Thread in outer space
The only DC comics I've liked have been Batman: Dark Victory, Kingdom Come and that Superman post-Suneater(?) arc. I didn't read the comics when I was a kid, so almost none of the characters appeal to me. Also, is there some kind of compilation for Civil War? I've been kind of avoiding the cross over arcs ever since the travesty that was M-Day, but I've heard good things off this.

Mass Effect Is Extreme
Funny, I never thought him that whiny, he just didn't like the main character. People, and indeed rpg chars, can be like that.

Halo 3 Gone Gold
Supposedly, there's two endings, another for Legendary difficulty.

Robert Jordan passed away
Rest in peace, Bob. It's been a ride. My reading has been random and sporadic, but I think I'm in book 10 or 9. Shadar Logoth just exploded. I haven't been arsed to get back to the series, since I don't want to read the books in Finnish and the originals are hard to find from libraries. I borrowed the last 2 books from a friend just before he moved to Sweden. I generally don't buy fantasy, unless it is Pratchett. Or Hobb, since Soldier's Son is amazing.

If you don't mind watching stuff online, somebody recently uploaded FMA:Conqueror of Shamballa to veoh.com. That movie has a ridiculous amount of occult and nazi references.

Off for a soldier
My heart leaps up when I behold A rainbow in the sky: So was it when my life began, So is it now I am a man, So be it when I shall grow old Or let me die! The child is father of the man: And I could wish my days to be Bound each to each by natural piety. -Will Wordsworth
