I don't mind a lower difficulty for my first playthrough. I was going to play Deadfire on Veteran, first. Now I'll just play on POTD, instead. I'll tryhard on my second playthrough. Entirely custom character, 100% optimized builds for everyone, etc. First playthrough, my character will definitely be optimized, but that's it. I'm still waiting for the first patch, though. Too many bugs, at the moment.

Well, I think you would have to agree it is more of a deterrent than it is now. But I believe I also qualified it by saying that poe1 didn't have a perfect rest mechanic either. Hence also why I mentioned more rogue-like elements. --Harder to rest --Health doesn't regenerate after combat without abilities/food. --Easier perma-death of characters, etc. --Dialog options and other choice-based elements have deeper consequences My point is, there's nothing 'difficult' about it. Which is what you claimed.

How do attrition mechanics make The Endless Paths less pointless? Here's what happens when I run out of Health or critical Priest spells in Endless Paths. - Walk to exit - Click 'travel to surface' - Click rest button - Click Endless Paths entrance - Click 'travel to level x' - Walk to where I'd gotten to - Continue How would you describe this process, if not pointless?

Not really, the portraits thread is just for portraits... Nothing wrong with making a thread, though. -

There is a portraits thread set up specifically for these kind of requests. -
I mean, the game being programmed correctly would do it Even more mandatory automation on top of the existing optional automation sounds like a sure way to frustration. I'm not sure what you mean but essentially the game counting a suppressed effect as the effect not existing is piss-poor programming

That's a pretty bad flaw in the AI system. The game should automatically take into account being under such an effect, and not execute the command. There's no way you should have to set up an actual rule to account for being under AD. Realistically speaking, I think your best bet is just to turn AI off whenever you see an enemy casting this on you.

You'll take those starting abilities and ****ty attribute scores and like them! Popular defenses of this stupid practice: 1) Stop acting so entitled, just enjoy the game! 2) The companions are higher level than custom ones so it's ok! 3) Just use mods! 4) Just use console commands, achievements don't matter! 5) Developer choices matter more than your gaming experience! 6) You might choose attributes/abilities that don't fit the character! 7) I can complete the game on POTD without optimized attributes/abilities! And many more
