  1. Well, you don't *need* the speeder. I didn't do it my first playthrough, so you aren't stuck. You just need to move through the planet more. The speeder might trigger a the advancement of the story as other quests do. If you don't care about missing out on whatever the speeder provides you (again, I don't know since I missed that my first time through) then check out the Pazaak den. Work your way through the ranks and see if that moves you forward.
  2. I found that in my first play through. Made my blade look the same as the orange crystal on my TV.
  3. Some side quests will give you a power cell as a reward. Have you reunited the married couple, found the crew's captian (or found them a new pilot)?
  4. Strategy Guides are very often worthless. Prima is renounded for thier utter worthlessness. I've never opened a Prima guide that isn't full of errors and inconcsistancies. Just one of the many good reasons never to buy a guide. Strategy Guides are one of those things that tend to cross my mind "what can I do that I would actually enjoy". It wouldn't be hard to out do Prima in quality, but how the heck do you wedge your foot into such a nitch market. P.S. The guide is wrong about Traya and Atris showing up at all in dark clothing. I'm going to even go as far as to say that Atris was never Traya (sorry Leferd), I do not recall the dialog which pointed that fact out. "Darth" is a title, the name behind it is not and it is not passed around.
  5. Although your frustration is well founded, most of your anger in terms of the release schedule should be directed at LucasArts. I am unclear where most of the testing came from, but the manual seems to indicate that LA was at least mostly responsible. Any department involved in the testing of this game should be very ashamed of itself -- as a Software Developer myself I understand the difficulties in finding everything, but there seems to be all too many "common" problems that should have probably been caught.
  6. Since KotORII doesn't support XBox Live, that wouldn't be a very good use of their time.
  7. Lightsabers should be able to disrupt the field as well.
  8. The duplicate Mira will appear if you do not have Mira yet as well. I spoke with him as soon as I arrived, Mira later joined and the "mute" Mira was still there. My guess is that this just happens. If it always happens, it is a testimate to how much time this game spent in testing.
  9. There are also posts floating around, here in the spoiler forum I believe, of Hanharr.
  10. What are you refering to as "benevolent event"? The cut scenes in which people discuss, or Kreia jumps in to chat with you, or just the chance to gain Influence with the people who like such actions?
  11. Thanks again all -- the latest changes have been made. Much appreciated (and I am sure others appreciate your efforts too). If we could please keep discussion out of this thread, it would be benifitial. Questions, answers and general chit chat only cause the thread to become cluttered and more difficult to follow. If someone knows how to gain/lose Influence for any character, and they wish to share how, they'll post.
  12. http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=26579 - has a lot of Influence points for Kreia... the most of anyone I think. Kreia will respond to many things. One of the most common ways is to claim that nobody is beyond redemption and to agree that you see her point of view when she teaches you something of life.
  13. The second post in the thread has a summary of all Influence actions posted so far -- it is updated everytime I come into the thread and see new stuff posted. I've been thinking about starting a new thread with the Influence descriptions broken into a few posts, but will wait a little longer until the second post is so big it is too difficult to parse. What I'd really like, is if a Moderator would be so kind as to STICKY this thread and maybe trim out everything below the second post so we could start with a clean slate. Hint, Hint.
  14. You may want to try to level up to get Force Break (I think that is right -- the one to nullify Force upgrades). These will tend to increase your chances of landing a Force power on NPCs, which may let you wear out Vrook.
  15. The quest should go "complete" if you return to Grenn and report some findings concerning the imposter. My guess is that is the only information available, as Grenn will reward you for it.
  16. Most likely not. You could try loading the previous game and see if it continues to repeat itself there -- or maybe try equiping Atton w/ different equipment, or nothing (weird I know... but so are these bugs). Trying a new disk is the generic cop-out answer to these types of questions. Another option you have is to equip Atton with really good armor and some good blades. Just press the A button a few times -- you are in a dialog that will evolve into a battle. You can cross your fingers that Atton will win and the screen might return. :D
  17. Thanks again for all the updates, everyone. I already have an entry for this event, that says Atton will gain Influence if you fight off the thugs. Can I get a confirmation from someone (or I will wait until I get there) that both of these actions work, or that one of them does not.
  18. There are docking ramps on either side of the console where Atton was standing. Just walk up to the one off to the right.
  19. I just got a slow twitch while on the Harbinger (2nd play through). My full game time is under 4 hours at the moment, that would have been maybe half way through that and I didn't play straight through to that point. So.... longer play time isn't the cause by itself. It may by a symptom of larger hickups though.
  20. I don't, off the top of my head, but they've been posted a couple of times. Do a search for character names and Jedi class types in the same message, that will probably grab one.
  21. Is "sandbag" what the kids are calling "just waiting for the a while before leveling up" these days? You have to be level 15 before you get the option to select a Prestige class, so holding levels doesn't do you any good. The benifits would work the same as before. Your NPCs that can become Jedi become a certain type (you don't pick them), so you will have to weigh the advantages to leveling up or not.
  22. Play Onderon. Leave Dxun when you are done. It comes later. There... I said it. I've ruined evreything for you now. I feel so dirty.
  23. Stop looking. Just keep playing.
  24. Stop looking. Just keep playing. It is part of the story.
