  1. To quote a previous individual... you're in the SPOILER FORUM! You shouldn't be opening threads here if you don't want to know something you don't already know. Why you feel the need to insult the author for your blunder is beyond me. This being the "biggest spoiler" you've run across is laughable. The "spoiler factor" of this thread is about 1 in ump-teen-million compaired to the 100s of other posts in this forum.
  2. When, and how many times, Carth appears depends on the sex of your character and the sex/alignment of Revan. He shows up anywhere between 1 and 4 times, his first appearence being when you leave for the surface of Telos.
  3. You can train any number of your party members to be a Jedi. Not to be dismisive... but can we keep the replies focused on Influence in this thread? The questions concerning who can be turned and how many at one time have been answered before and can certainly be asked in a seperate thread again if need be. Let's keep this thread to Influence.
  4. Good overview KingSnake. There is a lot in there that I was assuming too, and certainly the questions at the end where some of the many I had. This is one point that I've become more confused (or perhaps "concerned") about as other gaps are filled. The "true threat" is mentioned in passing once or twice during the game when you talk Kriea -- the "what if Revan was preparing the Galaxy for something bigger". Then it is brought up at the end, and Kriea almost sounds as if she was preparing you for that journey the whole time. When I faced Kreia, my belief is that she wanted to destroy that force and I was the key -- that my *death* (according to Atris) was somehow the key, or a reasonable substitute to the true ritual. So, I go kill her. At the end she seems to have randomly forgotten about destroying the force and is now getting you ready to fight the "true Sith threat". It just seems to me that the story doesn't know what to make of its own plot, how it should end, after you hit Dantooine for the second time. One would assume, it is what I assumed in the case of Mira but have no idea for the rest. Remote had to stay to set off the bomb -- did GO-TO stay too, did he have his fight out with Remote? Is Bao-Dur dead? There are too many questions about the immediate fate of my party members.
  5. Oh wow! That isn't supposed to be there. You've hit a glitch. Try reloading a save game, because something didn't trigger in the game when it should have.
  6. Hm... I'm trying to remember this part. You should be controling your own character at this point (not Mira) and you just need to exit the compond. I don't remember having to run into any special rooms to unlock any doors. Have you tried the door Mira uses to let you in? Have you tried the door you started next to when you retook control of your character after Mira? Edit: I also remember entering the room behind the the Squid guy and picking up something off a dead beast master. I think this might have been when I was Mira, I can't really recall. This was all so long ago, sorry.
  7. I'm at least happy to hear that everyone around here knows where to place the blaim. I can't remember how many times I had to point out how the rights to KotOR worked over on the BioWare forums when people bitched about the lack of supported mod abilities or multiplayer.
  8. Well, please... share! That's the point of the thread. I'm not saying the "twist" wasn't unexpected, but that is where it happened and where the goals of the game began to shift from simply stopping a Nihilis to stopping Kreia's master plan. Nihilis is transformed from a galactic threat into a footnote. It does not appear, to me, that his motives are truely explained. His history with Visas, Kreia (beyond a short cutscene) and why he is doing what he is doing -- aside from a few dialog screens which quickly comment on his "hunger". Sion goes Kriea's student, to Sith Lord hunting me down, to Kreia's student. No explination. I assume he is hunting me down because I am supposedly a Jedi. Okay, I'll go with that baring the lack of background on the subject. But then he is suddenly Kreia's student again and I learn I am somehow in competition with him about being "chosen" for... for what!? Kreia's master plan ultimately seems to be that she wants to destroy the Force, creating a void and I am somehow the key to that. Atris tells me (after several plot holes are made with her) that Kreia is willing to kill herself in so that I also die, through out bond, in order to complete her plans. So I then go off to do exactly that... kill her!? Is this what I was competing with Sion for? The chance to destroy the force? Why is Sion suddenly so commited to being Kreia's student again and stopping me from being so? So in the beginning, we are running from Sith who are hunting down the remaining Jedi. I must reunite the Jedi Masters in order to combat this threat. This is the "plot" we are lead to believe for the majority of the game. Then the Masters turn on me and the whole destruction of the force plot line comes out, and everything important to the previous plot is lost.
  9. DVD disk id: LA02008A-LA Disk ID (on front of disk): 3267530 (not sure if this differs). I'm not sure that is exactly what you want. My number there is 3267501 -- which you can see is different then the ID on my disk. I think any numbers printed on the disk itself will be more accurate. I've experienced only a few slowdowns (5 at most), only 1 major slowdown, and only when I was inside a cave (Dantooine and Korriban). 1 instance of freezing at start of battle in Dantooine Crystal Cave. No troubles beyond that.
  10. I have seen slowdown, but only a few times. I can only remember 1 really bad time, and maybe 5 (at most) total. The first KotOR suffered from slowdowns at times too. They did not appear to be as wide spread as KotOR2, but I do remember hearing about them. I didn't get them.
  11. The missle room is located at the "top", if you are locating the map screen, just above the large room in the middle.
  12. Wow... I'm going just give a general answer here, because I am not going to try and read that. Sorry. Please use sentances and, more importantly, paragraphs. They make you post so much easier to read. Anyway. There are no true romances in KotOR2. There are certain characters who will express feelings towards your character, but it is part of the story which you have no effect over. I saw the name "Desciple" in there -- his "love" for you is, as I interpreted it, more of a brother/sister love. A love that is protective rather then romantic. I don't know if this helps at all with you question. If you could please break up your mass paragraph we will all be able to read it more easily, and thus answer it better.
  13. This one annoyed me! First, do you have the new charge? There is a weapons room somewhere on the Ship, you want to find it. I'll let you wonder around a bit if you haven't done that. If you have it and are looking for the last target zone, there are 4 total. 2 in rooms with the far wall blown out. 2 in hall ways. The rooms are easy enough -- just go into every room. The hallway is a bit tricky, because when I saw the dead end, I turned around... when I should have kept going. If you are looking for the last point in the hallway it is:
  14. I think so. The only real bugs I know of are the slowdowns, and a few game glitches here and there. In all, there have been fewer bugs and glitches then I remember hearing about from the original KotOR. I never ran into any real "bugs" with the original KotOR. I ran into a glitch here and there, but nothing that really took away from the story. For KotOR2 I had mild trouble with the battle slowdown, but can not think of any glitches I ran into the first time around. My understanding is that the changes to the KotOR engine were made with the PC in mind, which is why the slowdowns are more prevalent (the existed in the original too) this time. They certainly make me wonder how QA could let it through, but in the end it didn't make me want to quite. Overall, yes. KotOR2 is suitable for the XBox.
  15. Who? I assume you mean (spoiler) . Be that write or wrong, I don't recall getting to hear more about him.
  16. Thanks again. Vistaer, do you remember the dialog options and their effect? I'll have this option the next time I play so I'll be sure to write it down if you can't recall.
  17. I had Mira a little longer, but I didn't get much out of her over the general background story. Her importance on the end is just as confusing to me, which is extremely frustrating. I plan on picking her up first this time through, but I am afraid it will just mean she gets to fight Hanharr with a Lightsaber and nothing more. The more I am able to piece together in my head, I realize the turning point is the second trip to Dantooine -- once I lose control of my destination, I lost control of the story. When your character begins to realize Kriea's minipulation is when things just seem to get cluttered and completely fall apart for me. While my calculation is rough, to be sure, I estimate that 95% of the game is used to build up the "false quest" involving Sion and Nihilus. The last 5% is spent trying to explain the plot twist created on Dantooine.
  18. I found several battles to be challanging. Most of them in the beginning, before I got my Lightsaber -- once I had that things got a little easier. I switched to Difficult on the surface of Telos but turned it off in the Czerka camp, because I was having too much trouble as my team mates ran off before I get heal up for the next battle. This was before I figured out how to properly work with the battle formations. Some of the battles near the end can be difficult too, if you don't use the right combination of powers and Lightsaber forms. I was able to get a combination of force powers down to where I was taking on a huge number of enemies at once. Setting things to the Difficult setting should help some. A Counslor is generally more difficult, but really fun on the dark side. I normally play as a Sentinal and switching a Watchman when I had the chance my first playthrough.
  19. Thanks everyone for your responses so far! City Blues, Do you remember what planet you were on for your Mira Influence? Who do you gain Influence with in the medical bay after Visas arrives (I remember this action, but not the results)?
  20. I've not played Half Life 2, so I don't know. A lot of people compare it to the ending of Matrix 2... I'm not sure I would go that far, but those people are not far off.
  21. You can find all the pieces to the lightsaber on any of the first planets you visit.
  22. Items found in lockers and bins are random, as are drops. A few enemies drop constant items, but they are the enemies you don't have a choice about fighting.
  23. The story is very unpollished, in my opinion. I was left with many confusing unanswered questions when the game was over -- most of which were created in the final chain of events at the end of the game. Things just were not explained well enough, a lot of "why's that" and "what about"s at the end. I finished my first game yesterday. I'll play it again, and possibly a third time to see about picking up a few minor points I missed, but overall I've found that most of the questions I had at the end of the game many others had.
  24. After the Mira thing, I expected a showdown too. I figured I would be given the option at the end (which I kind of was) and depending on what I picked they would duke it out. No joy there though.
  25. I am not sure, but that is an interesting idea. I was planning a lightside male next -- I will see about hitting Nar Shaddaa first with as little LS as possible, then find a good DS source and give it a try. Then reload so I can not feel guilty about being a jerk... at least, not yet.
