Court upholds death sentence for child rape
Slippery slope? The British used to have the death penalty for almost everything: steal an apple, hang from Tyburn gallows. They changed the penalty because juries were increasingly reluctant to convict.

My money's on the baddies being rebels. And come on, it's Rambo. I think you are forgetting the subtleties of Rambo [2: First Blood] III, in which the complexities of the Cold War are explored in the latest country-pawn, Afghanistan, through some of the brave patriots against the ethically-challenged USSR invaders. Of course this doesn't preclude the protagonist outrunning bullets, dodging mortars and destroying heavy artillery with small arms.

OK. You can be my friend.

What are you playing now?
That's a good point; tell me, how did you meet these MMORPG friends? Did you know them beforehand, meet them in a forum, or actually in the game?

BREAKING NEWS! Another Duke Nukem Forever shot revealed!
It's very difficult to get excited about such a small thing. I expect that the best part of the game will be the gameplay. That's rather difficult to transmit via a screenshot.

kotor 2 feature transfer error on pc in windows XP
There are ways to clean a disc: metal polish (the date is stored sufficiently deep underneath the plastic to be unaffected by a vigorous scrubbing) like Brasso is a good first approximation. There are also companies that specialize in cleaning discs, too. If you contact LucasArts they might give you a replacement disc, too, for the scratched one.

Court upholds death sentence for child rape
I have no problem removing those individuals from a society who refuse to live by the laws agreed by everyone in it. As to HOW they are disposed of, that can be exile to a desert island, or just anywhere outside the society. I think that's fair.

I hope he uses the film for adult themes, like some sort of political commentary on the perfidiously corrupt SLORC, rather than just gore. Good gore, though.

Hi there!
I think your comments are more suited to teachers of adult students, not pupils (i.e. younger children). In my experience, as a pupil and student all over the world, I find very very few teachers who are competent. A huge problem in the countries that I have lived is that teaching is the catch-all default career for anyone that can't do anything else ("those who can, do; those who can't, teach"). On top of that, far too many parents seem to take far too little care in their children's lives in general and their education in particular, seeing their offspring as a burden. For those of you who are interested, I found this book (Imagining Numbers (Particularly the Square Root of Minus Fifteen) a very interesting read, especially for those who ask questions like "why does the complex plane start 90 degrees clockwise?). It's meant for people with only basic numeracy skills, though there is added detail in the endnotes that might pose some problems. When I tutored my step-daughter, back when she was still doing mathematics before she opted out in GCSE, I noticed that she was calculating the correct answer every time, then changing it (I presume this was due to a critical lack of confidence owing to the fact that everyone knew "girls were no good at maths"). It still makes me angry.

You're being pretty easy on Carlos "beaner" Mencia there, don't you think. You all are crazy. I know two married couples who had net courtships. They're so perfect for each other it's scary. That being said, I've known several net couples (I had one, heh) that didn't work at all. But the same could be said of any relationship of any kind. You've got no lesser chance of meeting a creep or a liar when you're picking up somebody from a coffee shop or a library or a club. That's the way things work. Statistics are no excuse for breaking the rules! Ah, Texas. Did... did she just say 'ah bukkake'? o_O Yeah, but I bet it's just a hobby of hers. Nothing to worry about. Overshare.

Hi there!
Right... though discrete mathematics wasn't my favorite part of the curriculum =\ I like discrete maths. Matrices are super cool. Very complex and non-trivial, but super cool. I'm really enjoying the physics I'm studying now. Much more than I expected to, actually. I may decide to do a degree in it ...
