  1. One vote for limited ammo, IE style.
  2. Hm... maybe the better question is, will you still be using those computers when the game is released, circa 2014? And as far as I know, Unity can be optimized pretty well for even current lower mid-range hardware.
  3. I'd like to see these brought back if Obsidian decides to use vocalizations for spells. "Vita, Mortis, Careo"
  4. I'd have to go with Shadows of Amn as a whole. I can't pick anything specific from the game, it's just the whole experience for me.
  5. Obsidian is developing their own IP here, so I think it's safe to say that elves won't be an exception from the "soul-system".
  6. Like mentioned by others, it would probably make some people downgrade their pledges, and while more people might actually up their pledges eventually, in the short term it would probably cause the total pledge funds to decrease a bit, which wouldn't be good publicity. It's a nice idea though, it's just that the execution of it might bring mixed results, or just end up as a negative. Edit: Personally I'm at the 250 tier, plus postage fees, and an extra 8 for the Obsidian Order.
  7. +1 on the PayPal pledge counter/stat. It's good to see PayPal get added, as it should help Project Eternity to pick up some speed when it comes to the stretch goals.
  8. It might be the sample/bit rates. They are 48k 24-bit... Is anyone else running into a similar issue? Tested playback with WMP 12 and the latest Foobar2000 release, no problems found.
  9. I think I read Feargus or Adam saying they were aiming around 50 minutes of music. I must have missed that one, thanks.
  10. Welcome to the Order, Echopeus! The best person to pick your title is always you.
  11. @Justin Do you have any estimate on the length of the soundtrack yet?
  12. I'd like to see something similar to the process of putting Crom Fayer together in Baldur's Gate II: SoA. It was hard enough to get to justify the power of the item, not to mention that you couldn't just get it in the beginning of the game due to the location of some of the required materials.
  13. Durlag's Tower or Watcher's Keep? Both are nice, although Watcher's Keep is definitely more high fantasy than Durlag's Tower.
  14. Maybe it's just me, but I can think of at least 3 other composers known for their video game scores I'd rather hire than Inon Zur.
  15. Nice update, it's good to get some info on this aspect as well. Now, how about Michael Hoenig or Ben Houge? They'd make a great addition to the team.
  16. The artwork on the first page isn't really reflective of his full work - see this.
  17. There's always the chance they'll bring in some less-known artist with great talent, but a lot depends on how the PE art style develops. I'd still like to see Justin do the portraits, but I won't complain if Obsidian decides to go with someone else, as long as the artist can match the general art style of the game and maintain high quality througout the portrait set.
  18. This for me. I think that's the whole appealing aspect of RPGs for me. Building my character's skills so he becomes stronger over time, not just because I'm more familiar with the buttons and keys. Obviously there's going to be player input; the better the strategy (ie. which equipment to wear, what party formations to use, etc.), the better the chances of winning. But in terms of actually deciding the individual battles, I want my character's skill to be the determining factor. +1 I think this is the best way to go for a traditional cRPG. Action RPGs are another genre in my opinion, so different rules apply there...
  19. Voted multiple - in my case that means: Baldur's Gate + Tales of the Sword Coast Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn + Throne of Bhaal Icewind Dale + Heart of Winter + Trials of the Luremaster Icewind Dale II Planescape: Torment
  20. The VA department could use some names... at 3 million, hire David Ogden Stiers as the narrator (Narrator/Belhifet in Icewind Dale) plus one of: David Warner as a major character (Irenicus in Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn) Grey DeLisle as a major character (Nalia de'Arnise and Viconia DeVir in the BG series) Jim Cummings as major character (Minsc in the BG series, Arundel and Hrothgar in Icewind Dale) Mitch Pileggi as a major character (Dak'kon in Planescape: Torment)
  21. Dumb guess on my part based on what other games have done, but I expect that legendary/epic items will have stories or quests attached to them, hopefully distinct art as well, while enchanted items are just like your standard issue gear with some magical effects stacked on. This would be my guess as well - enchanting like it was in NWN2. The legendary items should be more in line with Crom Fayer, Vorpal Sword, and Red Dragon Plate from Shadows of Amn.
  22. Yeah, it's not bad considering the fact that there's still two weeks to go on the Kickstarter campaign. Also, good to see you around the forums too.
